I did this mental diet (10 days actually was recommended in his book). It was an enormous eye opener and hugely empowering. It truly began my journey from pessimism to peace of mind.

1. Positive thought. What you have not what you are lacking. How is it really? 2. Curious not judgmental 3. Find something to appreciate. Compliment it don’t criticize. What’s great about it. Critical thinking. Appreciate what isn’t working. Balance. Pain will drive you. 4. Decide not to be perfect. I’m not perfect but I’m good. Get better every day. Learn. Courage to try. 5. Faith. The power to believe. It’s the ultimate power.

Beautiful video… non-judgement is the biggest super power if you ask me. “The Power of the Spoken Word” by Florence Scovel Shinn helped to seal the deal for me on that. It’s one thing to try not to judge, it’s another to realize there’s never a reason to

I am not sure that is true. I haven't seen any probative studies attesting to that. Look, negative thoughts aren't the problem. It's what you do with them. If you want to be miserable, cultivate negative thoughts. Dwell on them. Nurture your regrets and resentment. You will then become the most miserable SOB on earth. There are two things you can do when a negative thought arises. First, you can substitute a positive thought for the negative one. The second method, which I use more often today, is to notice the negative thought without dwelling or holding onto it. Watch it--and release it. The power of non-resistance. What happens when you don’t know how to use the negative real thought to your advantage or work your way around it?

The secret with negative thoughts is to notice them but not attach any importance to them. I am not exactly sure what you mean by a “negative real thought”. Sometimes a negative thought, say, a thought of fear when you see a wild animal coming toward you, is actually a positive thought in disguise. Notice each thought. If it is not solidly grounded in your present reality, dismiss it. Give it no more attention than it deserves. This requires a fair bit of self-discipline. If I notice a negative thought/feeling, and I try to get rid of it but it doesn't work, do I have to restart?

Thanks for your comment and query. This is what Dr Fox wrote: “… you must be quite clear that what this scheme calls for is that you shall not entertain, or dwell upon negative things. “Note this carefully. It is not the thoughts that come to you that matter, but only such of them as you choose to entertain and dwell upon. “It does not matter what thoughts may come to you provided you do not entertain them. It is the entertaining or dwelling upon them that matters. “Of course, many negative thoughts 'will come to you all day long. Some of them will just drift into your mind of their own accord seemingly, and these come to you out of the race mind. Other negative thoughts will be given to you by other people, either in conversation or by their conduct, or you will hear disagreeable news perhaps by letter or telephone, or you will see crimes and disasters announced in the newspaper headings. “These things, however, do not matter as long as you do not entertain them. In fact, it is these very things that provide the discipline that is going to transform you during this epoch-making week.” So, my answer to you is this. You do not have to restart from Day One all over again. It’s practice, self-awareness, self-observation and discrimination that matter. God bless you!

@@drianej yes...that’s why I didn’t finish the rest of the sentence! I’m constantly rearranging my thoughts for a better mental diet! Scripting or writing short attainable affirmations or just any related to my desires works wonders if written both day & night for at least 15 minutes for boosting up to higher frequencies, but I had a Coach teach me that. 😊👍🏼
