When we moved to Arkansas from Chicago when I was a kid, these two were on TV all the time. Used to give the creeps. Glad you did this and glad I saw it. On with the video!
I’m so sorry to hear about your coworker. I can’t even imagine what she had to go through and the evil she saw there. I hope she’s doing as well as she can be given where she spent her childhood. Again, I’m so sorry. Sending all of my love.
I hate these types of cults too. The fact that they had a rehab facility for substance abuse is so upsetting. They must’ve sucked in a lot of people who were at their most vulnerable state.
That broke the story. On the families collecting practice of Levi demen. It was not just the sweat shop working. But the group mission going in place to retrieve this special material at no cost. Story claim that search refugees bins..then would be punished if they did not bring back enough demen. Or right type.
Yeah I think it's calculated for sure, even if they believe some of it, they definitely know what they're doing in terms of other people. They probably think they're in the right regardless of whatever manipulation they're doing. Most of the stuff I've read about the psychology of "charismatic leaders" seems to point to the fact that they don't see anything wrong about exploiting people, that people exist for them to exploit, or that they're somehow doing those other people a favor, regardless. Also if they do believe their own mythologies, I feel like that's just a form of justification that their minds come up with to further that belief of self-importance. Human brains do weird things. I'd buy he really was attached to his co-leader/wife, Susan, though. Maybe she kept him a bit more level. Obviously a very unhealthy relationship from both sides, but it seems like it wasn't all fake.
How do people get to the point of leading or being a part of such an organization? I don't know, and I consider myself fortunate that I was raised with more awareness. People who are seeking God must take time to research the Bible themselves and how it relates to their own lives. It's all there. Nothing is left to the imagination. If someone is telling you something that feels wrong, it probably is.
