Tony V. mentions his book : "Entering Germany - 1944-1949. " I donated my copy to the library of The US Pastorius Home Assn. in Germansville, Pennsylvania. DanielPastorius emigrated to the area with a band of settlers. His home still stands in Bad Windsheim, Franconia, Germany. The Association was a main $upporter of its restoration.

Leanne, he is famous and has HUGE recognition. i understand that he is not a common name with younger generations unless they are history knowledgeable, but he is famous nonetheless. There are hundreds of websites devoted to him, his biography is on tons of websites, including wikipedia, and various military and history sites, and he has been featured in the New York Times. He is all over Google. It is widely known that he is both a legendary war photographer, and has photographed some of the most famous celebrities to have ever lived. :)

in 1974 I was stationed w/the 3rd Armd Div of the US ARMY in the state of Hesse the town of KIRCH-GOENS. Growing up in Trenton NJ during the 60's I developed a high interest in our military history, starting w/ Trenton's role in our ward of independence against King George III'S. The men in my family all served in the military my grandfather-WWI, my father n uncles - WWII /Korea my older cousins -Vietnam. I took a look at the history (WWI n WWII)in front of me being stationed in Deutschland. I spent all of my leave time, a wk here 2 wks here n there. I took to bicycling n used my Eurail pass stayed in hostels n B n B's as I would map out my visits to all that Western Europe offered me for the next 4 yrs. I was blessed w/that op.

If what I've found on the net is correct Tony has also done some amazing photos after the war. Unfortunately (at least in Europe) it's almost impossible to find anything except his wartime photos.
