That isnt an easy question to answer, Graphite is Carbon, but some rods claim to be Graphite, as it is allegedly lighter, than carbon but it is more brittle., Carbon rods are better than glass fibre , but there are composite rods out there that are carbon in the body, for power and rigidity, with a glass fibre tip for bite detection. there are plenty of articles out there, but the more you read the more confused you will become, the better idea is get into a good tackle shop and get a feel of the rods that are in your price range. and listen to the advice given.
