I love the Salted Caramel palette!! I recently brought out my TF Peanut Butter and Jelly mini palette as well. Beautiful skin and eye look today Emily, looking flawless 🤩💕
I picked up the Salted Caramel mini palette a month ago and paid full price. It was worth every penny. Of course I bought it because of you so Thank You, Emily!!
These videos are so important so please don’t feel you’re just being a Debbie Downer! In a market as oversaturated as eyeshadow palettes you are saving us money on palettes that just aren’t great! ❤️
Ok, so this is not related to the video but I had to share. Dawson's Creek just appeared on Netflix where I live. It should be available to watch this Friday and I hope you're happy to see your influence in that as soon as I saw that I declared it to be the next show this house watches! Thank you for all your recommendations and great advice :)
I purchased "Salted Caramel" several weeks ago, but I paid full price. (not complaining though). Well worth it. Thank you, Emily for recommending it. You never steer me wrong.
I was super disappointed in the Jam palette also! The colors were so pretty and usually the Too Faced palettes in the metal tins are good quality, so it was such a big letdown. :(
I'm so glad I waited for your review! Thanks for saving me money, I was ready to give in to the Too Faced allure! Appreciate the balanced, honest review. As always :)
They’re an expensive Drugstore Brand in CDA as well their cheapest price starts at 20.00 , for a Drugstore Brand that’s A to expensive and B it’s to expensive for the quality you get as well, their eyeshadow formula is really bad same goes for Foundation and Concealer stick to the Bronzers and Highlights that’s where they shine.
I’m in love with their illuminating primer-I think it’s called, “Spotlight.” People rave about their organic wear line. The bronzer stick and blush in particular. You probably can get similar quality in some elf products though for way less money.
I don’t understand why some of Too Faced shadows work while others don’t. Too Faced is capable of making really fantastic eye shadows and then they come out with dry/flaky shades and I don’t get it! I don’t have a makeup company so maybe there is more to the production aspect that I’m unaware of however Too Faced has had some excellent eyeshadows in the past and these are just a let down
A lot of youtubers are loving those flakey, sheer, glittery topper type shades - and while they are beautiful I tend to go for a high impact metallic. So I appreciate these kinds of vids 👏😊
I’m so glad you did this video before I bought them!! They all looked so cute but you’re right.. when shimmers make up half of an 8 pan pallet, it has to come through swinging.. and now I know! So thank you!!
My favorite part about your videos is that you do such thorough reviews on products. You do the research, you explore different avenues, you try them again and again. So many youtubers just put something on once, say “I don’t like it” and that’s it! And I totally get you’re trying hundreds of products constantly, but it’s difficult for us to make decisions off that! Thanks 💛
Hi Emily another point to note is even the "jam" palette with the lilacs and a berry, the mattes are really warm toned. Where is even one cool toned palette? There are a plethora of warm toned palettes on the market from every brand, but the cool toned amongst us are not catered for here at all. The success and hype around the ND glam palette (which is a cooler toned neutral palette - rather than a completely cool toned palette), should speak to these companies that we WANT SOME COOL TONED PALETTES. Greys, purples, pinks, icy pastels and a little taupey neutrals for blending - where are these types of palettes? I'm very cool toned with pink/white skin, grey eyes and blonde hair - warm tones look terrible on me (anything orange makes me look ill). Whilst I appreciate more of the skintones in the world are warm rather than cool, we're a disregarded market. Also some people with warmer toned skin like cooler colours occasionally. I bought the viseart amethyst palette for xmas and there are a few others from that brand I like the look of, but it's not cheap and there should be more choice. Best wishes.
Colourpop has been inconsistent lately too. Different labs, cheaper ingredients? Something is definitely going on, can't help but think they are spending less to make products and charging us more.
Can we all collectively agree that makeup companies have reached complete saturation point. There are very few new unique products and let's face it, they're just reinventing the wheel. This Too-Faced offering proves it. There's absolutely nothing new here.
Thanks for this review! I love my Salted Caramel, so I was very interested. My daughter turned 7 on Sunday... we just did dinner and ice skating as a family. Yay for the low key covid birthday parties! I could really get on board with this!
I don't understand the complaint when in the official Too Faced tutorials they show application with the fingers. It's what they wanted. That was the intention.
I bought it for the same reason and I've been using it a lot. I just reapply the shimmer until I get the right amount of color, since I don't like a heavy shimmer.
After the scandal with Jarrod's birthday cake that said Rich Lives Matter why is anyone still reviewing Too faced? People canceled KVD to death but not too faced. Dont get it.
I kind of miss the era of when eyeshadow palettes releases were a BIG deal and brands really only did it once a season or so. I feel like the brands which much more focused on quality in the early to mid 2010’s.
I wish I would have seen this before I bought the That’s My Jam palette. Luckily it’s the only one I bought. I haven’t tried it yet but I tossed the packaging. Oh well.
One way I like to enhance powder shimmers is to put a cream shadow in a similar tone under them; maybe that would help if you find the shimmers lacking! If you have any pink or purple creams you could enhance those shades! Even the green if you happen to have either a light green or a white-ish shade!
After your birthday gifts video, the following day I searched for these little palettes and because I live in Northern Ireland and to get the ones I wanted I would have to pay additional p&p and additional tax, I added them to my basket while I made my mind up. I am so pleased I only did that and didn't actually buy them. Despite being old... 47... I always have an element of shimmer on my eyelids so lack lustre shimmers are a resounding no from me. Glad you reviewed these pretty promptly after the original video.
Thnx u Emily I know now what I won't be purchasing. Emily please email TOO FACE.. ON THIS. MATBE THEY WILL LISTEN TO AN AWERSOME SMART WOMAN LIKE YOU❤️
I got so many compliments wearing my White Russian highlighter from Buxom .... thx. I recently got the Tarteist Pro Remix Palette and I must say this was a fantastic purchase and I have loved all the colors I have used.
I am currently so disappointed with Too Faced at the moment. They have discontinued my favorite loose powder(Peach Perfect). I loved the holiday lip set, but have not been impressed with eye shadow quality in a bit... Even Pumpkin Spice was somewhat of a let down for me 😕
Well, pu-toots. That's disappointing. I was thinking about the jam eye palette--even though I don't spend that much on my makeup I was going to splurge. Glad I saw this before I for sure decided to order it.
I always trust your reviews! Thank you. But after you rub the color on the back of your hand, can you show us? PS - I think you should get a cute snowflake decor thing to replace the golden tree in the background for the winter/non Christmas time.
So needed this. I do not understand how it can be difficult to do a solid shimmer. I mean come on! Profusion can do it for like $5. And colourpop for $10-$20. It can't be that hard. Essence has some amazing color pay off too. So over higher or mid end messing up. The market is overly saturated. Nice try too faced.
I wanted to share this with you both and Bitty. When my grandmother was born her mother a solid?!? name Ruth, the first time my great grandfather looked and said hi, Peggy. So Peggy it was. She was the most kind, loving person you would know. Ok.
Omg yes more tutorials please! I miss old RU-vid when it was about tutorials instead of just reviews of new products-I don’t want to watch commercials or buy anything, I want inspiration to use what I have!
There is just no excuse for a brand like Too Faced, who charges a premium for their products, to have such poor performance. I will happily stick with Colourpop.
That glitter reminds me of the old school Urban Decay or Too Faced formulas that were not that great... such a let down. These little pallets are such an awesome idea, but not when you can only use 1/3-1/2 the shades.
I'm starting to wonder if a lot of these recent makeup releases are poor quality because of everything going on with covid? I have purchased other palettes from urban decay as well and they were just bad quality. It just seems really strange that it is happening a lot lately.
I found that the Pumpkin Spice palette had some of the same issues - the mattes were great but I was less than impressed with most of the shimmers. They took a bit of effort to build up, which is disappointing, especially since the Gingerbread Spice palette was nice. I was hoping that the PS palette would have had that same consistency. It's such a bummer because if Too Faced could maintain consistently good formulas, that combined with their cute packaging would earn more of my money. But, I suppose it is what it is. Thank you for your review of these palettes! I had considered getting the That's My Jam palette since I absolutely love the purple color story, but I'm glad I passed.
It’s a shame Too Faced is so inconsistent with their formula. We know they can put out great products! I don’t understand why they don’t care about putting on great products? I’m always drawn to the packaging but I don’t buy anything from TF because of the inconsistency. If I really want something and it has good reviews, I still won’t pay full price. I’m not sure these are worth it at half price 🤷🏻♀️ Love you Emily 💕 Sending prayers and love to you and your family
I saw someone joking that it seemed like someone at TooFaced accidentally ordered too many of the 8-pan components and now they’re scrambling to see what they can do with them. This video makes me thing there might be a kernel of truth to that. Thank you for always giving honest reviews. I’ve been following you and loving your videos since the very beginning and always appreciate what I learn from you!
You created a beautiful eye look for this video. But I understand your frustration with the shimmers; I felt that way about the Pumpkin Spice palette. It was workable but the shimmers would NOT adhere to my brush.
I picked up the too faced pumpkin spice after it went on sale after the holidays with a Sephora gift card and throughly enjoy it and rewatched your review video on it great recommendation 💕💕👌🏼
Too Faced has gone off the quality boil since being sold it is clear from your review corners are being cut such a shame as there was a time I would have had all of them x
So, this was totally meant to be!!! I hop on RU-vid and this is the first video in my feed. Earlier this morning I was deleting junk emails and saw one from Too Faced so was on their website and literally put each of the newer mini palettes in my cart. The packaging totally gets me it’s so cute and I love the other mini palettes I have. Plus, I’m such a sucker for anything mini. However, I just couldn’t pull the trigger on buying them. $27 per palette is a lot of money! I decided to think about for a bit and thankfully opened youtube and this was the first video! Emily saves me snd my wallet yet again!! 🙌🙌🙏🙏it did get me thinking about some wonderful mini palettes out there though. Kim Chi Chic beauty came out with a mini version of her original palette and I really enjoy it, it’s so good and really good quality. I have really enjoyed the mini Nabla palettes too. Em Cosmetics has a smaller, mini-ish palette that is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful quality. The Natasha Denona (am I spelling that right?) minis that I own are such nice quality and so fun much to use. Can anyone think of others that haven’t been mentioned already? Thanks for being such a bright light in my day, Emily! 💕💕💕
Hey Emily! Do you have a good to brand for brushes? I want to update my brush set but don’t even know where to start? Profusion? Sigma? Morphe? Real techniques? BH domestics? So many brands lol. Which one would be your one stop shop?
This look you have going on here reminds me of a desert sunset! Beautiful!! I so appreciate the honest review of the quality of these (or lack there of) palettes. Love your videos!!💜💜💋💄
Thank goodness! I was hoping you'd review these palettes. I got some gift cards for Christmas and my bday (today 🤗) and have been looking at these, especially the Jam one 💜
The thing that gets me is we know they can produce a bomb palette. Chocolate Gold comes to mind. I have that one, and its several years old at this point, yet it still applies and blends like the first day. They must be cheaping out on ingredients.
