A tip for anyone who's planning on doing a similar thing or just eating something you don't want to: don't close your eyes! Try to get in as much stimulation from other sources other than your taste buds. If you close your eyes, you will be focusing on the taste much more than you would if you keep your eyes open. This also works in reverse, if you *really* want to savour that flavour, close your eyes and try to only focus on the taste
