I know how you feel about the original Chanel poudre libre powders, I have bought like 7-8 back ups like no joke. If I could’ve afforded to buy more then I would have but I couldn’t. I actually love the Colourpop powder , Beauty Bakerie, Milani, Col•lab set the stage, Chanel, Pretty vulgar, Fenty, Nikkia Joy, powders and there a few more that i like to rotate. The original Chanel is the Only powder that locks my makeup in to where when I wear my face mask my makeup does not budge or break down. 💓💓💓💓
Mel, you are the powder queen 👸 and you are the one who showed me the importance of buffing! After your last powder video I finally broke down and ordered the Sisley loose powder. It hasn’t arrived yet but I cannot wait to get it!!
All I’ve done on quarantine/Lockdown is declutter my makeup room. I’ve depotted palettes, given away stuff. I love my space so much more now. I can definitely find stuff faster. Great vid
That is a lot of powder!! I really loved watching this video. It helps me decide what to purchase next. I love hearing your little mini reviews as you go through each product. I found your channel recently, and I’m really enjoying it.
Hi Mel, I have 2 silly questions 🤪 1) How does a person pick a powder who's new to makeup? 2) Should a person bake and set or can a person get away with setting? ❤ you and your channel!! I 😊
Truly I think baking very much depends on your skin type. Personally I’m very dry so I can’t even do it at all. So, i must use all powders good for dry skin and set them down and then generally quickly buff them off away. Baking is a way to sort of help certain areas pop out and “stay longer” but really you can achieve the same idea as long as you use different powders to make your under eyes pop, highlight other areas etc, and then at the end buff etc. (definitely watch mel’s buffing technique it is wonderful). So overall you do not have to do both :) and ps I am an pro MUA as well xox don’t get too worried about too many different things when starting out. Definitely knowing your skin type is SO important & having the proper colors for your skin :)
@@user-tm6ij6gx7r Omgoodness thank you sooooo much for this information it has made things so clear. Baking is definitely not for folks with dry skin which I have as well. I'm going to watch Mel's buffing technique video thanks again CLMama!! 😄
I've always had the hardest time finding a setting powder that extended the wear of my makeup, didn't make me look dry and/or cakey and wasn't too yellow for my very fair, cool toned skin. I'm combo dry and many powders were actually visible on my skin - like the Fenty Lavender powder that seemed like it should be perfect and the color was but it left little lines of powder on my forehead and chin that wouldn't blend away. I finally found 2 loose setting powders that set my makeup, really blur my skin and keep me matte, but not dry, all day. The first is the Nikkia Joy setting powder, which unfortunately, is only available online from her website but it's worth the 4 weeks it took to arrive here in NYC from Australia. The other is the Hourglass Veil powder, which is borderline too yellow but it's perfect in every other way so I make it work. I highly recommend both for setting, I don't bake so I can't speak to that, and I won't be without at least one of them. The Hourglass Veil powder comes in a mini that actually has a good amt of product in it and lasted me a few months. Sorry for the really long comment lol!
I wanted the Lancôme absolue peche for the glowy finish but then the person helping suggested absolue ecru medium. But when I tried it at home, it’s too dark and not radiant at all. But I used it as a bronzer and it has become my favorite bronzer!!!!! So natural and blends so effortlessly. I highly recommend for anyone who is light medium skin.
Boy oh boy oh boy I thought I had a lot of powder LOL I love that little emoticon that you put on your thumbnail it’s hilarious! I have still yet to try any Laura Merci a powders 😳 not that that’s the only one you have I have not tried but that’s one on my list to try! Love you! 🤟🏻💋
I’m so happy cause today I find the old Chanel powder in my Sephora :) so I grab the only one box I found :) I’ll try soon the la prairie one :) thank you for all your advices :)
I LOVE LOVE your whole situation today. That hair style looks absolutely gorg on you!!! My fav so far. The hair color with that makeup look is stunning and so Sexy! Love!
She wore this wig in the hair update video I was obsessed ....saw she mentioned was a synthetic from amazon, I never knew synthetics could look so amazing! It’s a gorgeous look!
I have two of the Decorte buffing powders that I bought when you reviewed. I have Luminary Ivory and Misty Beige. Love them! I also have the Lancome and the Hourglass. It doesn't matter how old I get, I will always be a powder girl! ❤
Mel. You inspired me to just buy all the makeup that I have been needing to reup or been wanting to try. In all seriousness, thank you. I also did my makeup full beat yesterday and got tons of compliments 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Love the hair colour! I called it and I was right. You'll also rock pastel blue, purple and multicolour. 🤩 I have not found my HG setting powder. Not one that claims to blur and/or oil control (for my t-zone) works for me. It's disappointing and discouraging. *sigh*
Decorte powders are amazing! The misty beige #10 has no illumination to it and it’s like silk on my dry mature skin. Also love the ones with illumination. So underrated!
Mel alone is responsible for my glowy powder addiction ...lol I never knew powders could be so radiant and lovely, her buffing technique changed my makeup life!
Omg i had to comment on the first video of you wearing this wig bc you look sttttuuuuhnnning, girl! Girl! Love these kind of vids! Love all your recommendations. I'm pretty sure all my powders were recommended by you
Hi Mel!! Hope you’re day is going great! Sometimes I wish I could just sit down and ask you how to get that perfected complexion! Thank you for this video! 💕
Woah - Mel getting rid of a powder? It really is the end of times! Damn you 2020! (just messing hehe). I got the Chantecaille pressed powder (the humming bird one). I love it so much. I wonder if you've tried it? Or even the loose powder from them? Michele said that the Cle de Peau loose powder is like the Chanel powder if memory serves. I haven't tried that one but I am so tempted. I'm also tempted to get the Sisley powder in Rose Orient. Maybe if I save up my money I'll try them soon.
Agree with all the positive comments on your wig. This one suits your edgy look and really compliments your skin tone! If love to see this length or shorter on you more often. I'm thinking a blunt bob ........ 😃
Hi! In regards of the Chanel original powder - is there any way to see if it is the original or the new one on the package? You mentioned the differences on the Tan De Soleil bronzer, but is there a difference on the powders box also?
Yes there is, it has different ingredients. The main difference is that the first ingredient in the old one is talc. The new one does not have talc at all in the ingredient list. Just a simple way to see if you have the new one or the old one 👍
Pretty pink hair! Love that style and perfect length. You and my daughter have gorgeous skin and tattooed to the hills!! I don’t have a lot of setting powders but sure could use one I really like. Thanks for these suggestions❤️❤️
OMG. That hair style looks PHENOMENAL on you!!! The wavy hair with the bangs just suits your face shape so well!!! 😍 This one looks so much better than the super long straight wig. Just wow. Stunning. The pink color is super cool too. ❤M
Ellis Faas Glow Up and Glow Down pressed powders. You have to try them! Wayne Goss got me hooked on their Skin Veil foundation years ago and I ended up falling in love with the entire brand. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Mel. I know what having too many products does to the mind. It's like you can't focus but once you clear it out, you can breathe again, refocus and go about your day. I think you did very well. Have a lovely day Mel.
Good Morning Mel! You look great in the pink! Awesome choices for your Declutter, it is also nice to hear which ones are still worth keeping! Thank you for another wonderful video! Hugs from California!
Just halfway through and checked description and it’s not there, so it may be mentioned further in but have you tried the new one by Pat Magrath yet? It’s absolutely beautiful! It’s like silk! Sets underneath the eyes and even the whole face. It’s so stunning! I’ve got all the ones you mentioned bar the La prairie powders and out of them all I prefer the pat Magrath over everything I think. Between that and the hourglass I can’t believe I have so many powders anymore because they’re all I reach for now. But mostly the PM powder! It’s gorgeous-especially for mature ladies and gents under eyes!
melissa pintone theres two, light and medium. I would get the darker one. It’s the baked bronzer. My skin is light and neutral tones but I like my bronzer darker than my skin!
I am an Airspun girl... I've used it for so long, I don't even notice the scent anymore. Ha!! I really loved this video because I need to BRANCH OUT!! I love the info you gave about each powder... super helpful. And as always, you look fabulous!❤
Do you think the Becca under eye Brighting powder and the Fenty lavender are like the same thing when setting under the eye? Or do you use them for different purposes?
Hey Mel! 🤗 Could you consider sometimes turning the camera around and showing your desk/vanity, filming setup etc? Maybe even vlogging? 🙏 Would love to know you better! 🤗
Only 2 powders have ever worked for my very fair, cool toned combo dry skin - the Hourglass Veil and Nikkia Joy's setting powder. Both truly blur my skin, never look dry or cakey and my makeup lasts all day. The HG one is almost too yellow, an issue I have with a lot of setting powders, but I make it work because it's perfect otherwise. I really loved the white By Terry Brightening CC powder but it can make some foundations look really dry so I'll wear it on bare skin to blur and keep my tzone matte for hours on no makeup makeup days
Can you show us what your top drawer (the ones you keep on top to rotate favourites) looks like....I want to do drawers on top too and would like to see what yours look like...
Your top drawer powders sound amazing! You could declutter all of the rest and still have powders for a long time and still have room to add to your collection.
Question what undertone does ur gucci powder have?? I was lookin on the gucci website and 00 is waitlisted but is the palest whitest powder they have. Then like shades 1,2,3 would be my guess for me but 2 and 3 look dark and like 2 is more pinky and 3 looks kinda tan with orangey undertone. I hate that they don't at least have a description of shades it's so hard to pick a color. They do have actual models well just shows their face and u can't tell from that either. So is shade 3 ur match exactly, or like ur summer shade match, or do u have to make it work kinda shade?
I was just watching your Powder 101 😆 I wish more brands would come out with minis - I could never finish them. I always want to try loose powders, too, but I like compacts for the convenience, and less mess.
Now I have to go through all of your “top drawer keeps” and figure out which are best for my dry skin and have a big buy on top of all my other stuff with my Sephora coupon! Yay! ♥️♥️
Hi Mel, the hourglass veil translucent powder and the charlotte tilbury genius magic powder are both kind of luminous. But what is the difference in your opinion, because you do set with the magic powder but you don't with the hourglass one, you just buff with that one at the end of your routine and Charlottes one you use for both. Thanks as always 🥰
