Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Boeing 737 Landing.
So close to be perfect, but I over-flared at the last minute in the Boeing 737-800 :(
Flown using Microsoft Flight Simulator using the PMDG Boeing 737-800.
I use the “Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus Edition” joystick along with the “Thrustmaster TCA QUADRANT AIRBUS Edition” throttle quadrant with a set of Logitech Flight Rudder Pedals.

@@AirNOTT oh, I know that's not true. . . Funny, but not true. 😉. ATP training is almost 90% completed by flight simulation/simulators, and there's an algorithm maintaining the flight simulation that makes it more difficult to fly the simulator more than a does the aircraft. "Thus", if you can fly the aircraft. I realize you might not be flying an actual ATP (FAA approved) simulator, yet you more familiar with the characteristics of flight more than you humbly admit. Small local airports often offer an introductory flight lesson (in a small, single engine plane) that lasts about a half hour for a reasonable price. GO TRY IT. I'm sure the instructor would be impressed
@Hk-uw8my
@Hk-uw8my Год назад
@@j.maurice4929n order to access the part of your training when you ll use a simulator , you need to be a pilot first, with a private pilot license. Basics of flying are not taught in a simulator, in order to get this licence you ll learn everything in a real plane. Even though modern approved simulators are quite close to their real counterparts, it's still not the same. It's just different and not more difficult, after a couple of tries you will know how the algorithm works and since it cant change like in real life then it will get pretty much repetitive...

One thing that might help when landing there should be a pink diamond on the side of your mfd which is the glide slope and puts you in line with the papi lights two red two white is perfect 4 red is low and 4 white is high which is shown in your video. Good landing a bit late but real nice -edited

Good touch, but if I am going to be nit picky, careful with the amount of airspeed you bleed off during the flare (usually VRef + 5kts then T/D at VRef). Air speed is your life

Good spot! I think this was actually my replay software glitching out when I played it back to record. It sometimes does weird stuff like this. Flight directors being all over the place is another common thing I get 🙃

That was still a great landing. MSFS has some wonky physics. What notch of flaps were you using for landing? If you have a long runway like this, I'd use only 30 degrees or so, and land closer to 130ish. That helps with the floating.

That was a nice landing. You flaired correctly. I mean its still too much flair and late landing because your speed is too low. If you maintain VREF speed you will not have to flair that much and you can land in time.
@AirNOTT

I have a bad habit of doing this. You were about to come in for the perfect landing but right before you touched down, you flared even more. I have a bad habit of doing this. But your landing was still good, just late and a bit too slow

I don’t think it was too much flare but more flared a little too early. Looked you started to pull back at the 30 call. If you’d flared just after the 20 call you would’ve been fine or at least closer to the markers.

@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
You are fine, work on power off at 50’ and arm the speedbrakes/spoilers and the autobrakes before the approach. Set your target speed bug even with manual throttle. That speed is OK for a light plane. Have you got the FSX PMDG 737 study material? it is very good.

Yeah for some reason my replay software wouldn’t show the correct speed and just did it’s own thing, weird!
@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
Does it give a different Vref for every flight? I read that the documentation in the MSFS version is very light. Without (virtual) electronic aid getting the real world correct figures is very involved.

@AirNOTT
@AirNOTT Год назад
lol everything ok?
@fabrizio737
@fabrizio737 Год назад
@AirNOTT y. bro, I don't like fs2020's physics. the plane feels kinda light. if you compare your speed tape, like, the stall speed, you'll realize that 2020's is weird, it's below 100kts (?). here in Brazil, we have the sbrj santos.dumont airport. with a runway with 1200meters of length, you can land the 737 800 pmdg with full capacity, above max *TAKE OFF* weight and you will be able to stop the plane without worries, also you can clear the runway using just half of the rwy. ah, irl the airliner that operates in sbrj doesn't use the standard 737 800, and yes a modified version: the sfp, with more efficient brakes and made of carbon and other materials, higher ground spoilers angle, lower approach speed, some modifications on flaps and plane weight.... and even with those modifications we can't stop the plane using only half of the rwy nor landing with max landing weight. it's like, with 0tail wind we only can land with 58.400 ton.
@fabrizio737
@fabrizio737 Год назад
@AirNOTT ah, also back to the flare subject, you may be with 737 800 full but if you pull just a little bit your yoke the plane will float a lot. it's like you can float forever at idle
@AirNOTT
@AirNOTT Год назад
Ignore the speed tape in this, it was my replay software bugging out making the plane show incorrect values :) Interesting points you make!
@fabrizio737
@fabrizio737 Год назад
@AirNOTT yeah I know the replay has some bugs but the speed tape "bug" also happens in real time gameplay. I have fs2020, bought on steam, sometimes o open it to test If it has already been fixed but never is. it's as I said, you can put your weight like 200 ton (lol) and your speed tape will still be incorrect as the fs2020 physic is trash.
