Shannon gets stuff like this all the time because it's the nearest airport off the Atlantic for European traffic.

Lovely to hear so many people from different places, in challenging circumstances, being so calm and nice to each other. Yes, it's their jobs and what they are extensively trained to do, but it still restores my faith in humanity just a little!

Commenting on the interaction of all persons in both situations. The interactions and communication was, concise, precise, effective, efficient, professional, collaborative, courteous and team oriented. The outcome was 100%, minimising risk to all. I hope the passenger recovered too. You seldom hear of people doing work that is superior in quality. I have heard the stress experienced by ATC is at very high levels with not much public awareness of the safe environments these guys create through hard work, dedication and training. My opinions are of course my own and my knowledge of the aviation industry is little. Well done, we are top class in this country.

I didn't know we could hear pilots exchanging information with one another and also with control towers. It's an eye opener to learn of the many mishaps that can happen midair. The pilots are so calm and matter of fact, in light of the many precarious conditions they encounter mid-air. I may feel less nervous when flying again knowing how wonderful these men are. They are so brave also. Ground control are so calm also and do everything immediatly so those landing have everthing they need the moment they land their planes. Very interesting and lovely to hear these highly trained brave people talking as if they were all driving their cars on a country road.😊. Thank you Tower Tales.💯

Do you all think plane companies just dump a tonne of expensive fuel for the fun of it, you only leave an airport with the amount you need to get to your destination and of you have to land early you need to dump the unused fuel so that you can land safely and not crash and explode in a ball of jet fuel

If Ireland has a distinction between regular ambulance and cardiac ambulance with the symptoms she shows it can be a heart attack, so a cardiac ambulance would actually be advisable in this case. Women often just have stomach and/or flank pain while having a heart attack. A heart attack does NOT always present as chest pains radiating to the left arm. And in women, it’s even uncommon for a heart attack to be presented like that. And specially with the onboard doctor saying it’s life threatening, make it a cardiac ambulance because of suspected heart attack.

I've seen one completely unmarked grey plane that looked similar to a 737 but a longer but thinner fuselage but wider wingspan. Around May 2024 people in Dublin were told to ignore low flying unmarked aircraft. Much larger trails are visible from planes are taking unusual flight paths and Mid August people in Dublin have been told to keep all windows shut at all times for the next six months. How old is this recording? I haven't heard a distinction between a Cardic Ambulance and an ordinary Ambulance for about 30 years sinceI worked on the Cardiac Ambulance in Dublin.

I feel so bad for the ill woman. She might have got an ambulance, but youre probably another hour drive from a hospital and once you get into hospital, it will be overcrowded.

I would feel alot of pressure just trying to understand all the different accents, it sounds clear now but in the moment it might not

This must be from several years back as, to my knowledge, THY33 last diverted to Dublin in 2016. While I know it can be hard to decipher what is said over the r/t, Turkish says "we just passed PIKIL", not "we are dumping fuel". (He asks about fuel dumping later in any case.) And with the BA, ATC says he has traffic beneath, not a Cessna beneath. Anyhow, there is no strange coincidence here really. En-route diversions are a virtually everyday occurrence in the area around Ireland, as so much North Atlantic traffic is handled, and if aircraft with medical emergencies don't turn back to Ireland, there may be no other suitable options until well into Canada. Airline operations departments frequently favour Dublin, as it has major hospitals close to the airport and also DUB is well linked to many European and North American cities in the event of other issues such as crew going out of hours arise. Dublin and indeed Shannon can see more than one diversion on a given day, so it is not a major surprise when some of these occur around the same time.

I don't think fuel dumps should be allowed, especially not in Irish waters - most of which are a Nature reserve for marine life. How often does this kind of wanton pollution happen worldwide?

So planes dump all there fuel before landing to reduce eh fireballs on runways i suppose, but still dump fuel, for ten minutes
