I have this flashlight. I got it as soon as it came out. This 1st one I had lasted about 2 weeks and the button wouldn't half press anymore. So they sent me a replacement and haven't had any issues with this one. But do have to be careful even if it's locked out sometimes it can unlock and turn on in your pocket. But over all I love this flashlight. I have a lot of different Nitecore flashlights, and this one is one of my favorite EDC flashlights.

I like the 2 step lock. The 1st step is great for use while carrying it on you, it locks out the non-momentary buttons and still leaves you the momentary ones available immediately if needed. I found with no lock taking it in and out of pocket I would sometimes hit the buttons, and can also bump it into things. If you hit the main switch it stays on in your pocket. If that's locked out the only one you can bump is the momentary which is no big deal, it shuts back off yet still leaves you with an option for light should you not want to mess with the lock. The second stage is good for stashing in a bag or something where you have more opportunities for even the momentary button to be held on, and you also probably won't be looking for it for immediate use.

I do enjoy this light. It’s form factor is neat and it’s price is about right for the technology we get. I have carried it for about 5 months (left pocket) and use it daily for inspection purposes where I work. Compared to the stiletto pro which is a pricy, tactical, bespoke light, it does stack up fairly well. I am not in love with the button interface, but using it daily does provide some muscle memory. Going forward, I would give it a 4.5 stars rating. Because of the way I carry it, I still have it turn on once in a while by the way I sit or move and I don’t like that. Having said that; I reserve my overall judgement until I put some miles on it. It does however seem a bit of a novelty after having several great, albeit expensive, round, dual 18350 battery, form factor flashlights, with longer turbo capability. If you like unique tech products, this might be for you, but it does have its limitations and a few quirks. Get one from Amazon and try it out. If it doesn’t suit you, you can always send it back.

I have the EDC27 and its a great light. I am still on my first charge. The battery does last a really long time. I use this light around the house as well as carry it on occasions. I love that you can use it on 15 lum if youre just needing to read something etc and not having to blast your eyes out. One thing I have noticed and I dont know if due to it being a little low but right now with mine when I try to use the 3000 lum or the strobe it will on last for about twoish seconds before it drops down to a lower setting. It just started doing that. Don't know if there is something wrong with mine or it just needs charged.

I have the EDC27, cool form factor and capabilities, but the biggest fail is the button interface. Between the half/full press to turn on and cycle through the modes that was super frustrating to figure out and still is. Even with the level 1 and 2 locks on the lights, you can still activate the highest 3000 Lumens at the touch of the button, meaning a touch of the button quickly a pocket melting level of light, while you struggle to turn on the regular mode with 15 lums etc.....

I've accidentally burn a hole into my pants when I forgot to lockout the light😢. I laid on my sofa and somehow managed to activate the tactical switch and the 30 seconds or so generated enough heat. I ended up opening up and added a small oring under the button and it takes maybe double the pressure so it's alot better for me. I love the light for how it fits in my pocket, but I agree with you that's its probably not for everyone. I kinda wish they gave us a 1 lumen moonlight mode as well. It is very bright on the high setting, the turbo is great, and the lower settings are also useful for poking around in computer towers and servers. Honestly, for the price I think it is the best value light you can get right now. The one thing I wish it had is a setting that flashes between the 1000 lumen and the 3000 lumen settings for when I am on the road at night, but that is just a wish and not a nitpick. I have an EDC27. Very nice flashlight... Very bright & nice form factor. THE PROXIMITY SENSOR IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!! On two occasions, the turbo mode accidentally switched on in my pocket since I only carry it in the #1 lock mode, & the torch became so hot it burned a hole through my pants before I could get it out of my pocket, & melted the inside of my pocket to my leg leaving me with a serious burn wound. The proximity sensor DOES NOT WORK AS IT SHOULD. I now carry it in the #2 lock mode to prevent it from switching on, whicjh defeats the purpose of a high output tactical flashlight that you cannot use rapidly. DO NOT BUY THIS FLASHLIGHT IF YOU NEED A TACTICAL LIGHT!

I've never been so excited about a flashlight before! Was pretty much perfect for me. Until it burned a hole through my pants. The proximity sensor is pretty useless :/ Proximity sensor only works when you are very close to the reflective surface, If it turns on in your pants, most of the times the sensor is not close enough to the fabric to recognize it. Lock #1 doesn't really help since the Turbo/Strobe button is the problem. Also, stiletto pro has a removable clip that can be repositioned, the regular stiletto is the one that has bezel up only carry.

@@HongKongFuy1 No it hasn’t. At least not to my knowledge. They addressed the issue with a proximity sensor that’s not very good, at least not in the pocket. The olight sensor turns on about 4 inches from the surface, while Nitecore’s has to be less than an inch away, at least in my two examples. Secondly, any light that needs to be in lock out to be properly carried in your pockets is a failed light in my opinion. SPECIALLY a self sidebar light like this.

@@HongKongFuy1 That’s good to hear, might be a difference in pants also. My pants are stretchy with relative deep pockets, so less material closely in front of the light to reflect back at the sensor. I would have to try out a third one of these to test it out. I understand that if you live in a Commie enclave like NY, MD, MA, IL, or CA, the concept of a "Defensive Light" might make sense, as you have no other options. But I live in a State where law-abiding citizens are not considered a threat to society and criminals are not considered "valuable social assets to the Establishment" like those places, so I carry a Arkfield, because it's bright enough for pretty much any flashlight task I need, AND it has a built-in laser pointer that I can use at work during presentations, or for pointing at things on high shelves or in precise areas. I carry Sabre Gel OC Spray, and a Glock 36 as my "defensive tools" and they are FAR more effective for stopping thugs, criminals, and deranged psychos than any flashlight ever could be. The only drawback to the Glock is that when it runs out of "defensive capability", it costs a LOT more than a flashlight to recharge. Just sayin'...

Since you said/showed nothing at all concerning the battery type, it seems I must infer that it is not replaceable, not a readily available standard type, or proprietary and probably quite costly. (I use the inclusive "or" here.) The Amazon link also says nothing about the battery.

Do you try to sell this flashlight as well? Why are you compare the thinnest part? Why don't the thickest part? That way nearly doubble of the size of that olight 🤣

Thanks for the review of the lamp. I am currently trying to find a good "inspection light", to use at work. I do have an o-light head light, but it is limited a bit - it has a magnet, and can/could interfere with some of our equipment.

You don't measure the light output. Ip54 means it isn't at all waterproof, it should be ip66 it just needs membrane switches and a gasket seal on the screwthread. Dealbreaker is it looks exactly like an ECD evidence collection device audio recorder, not an EDC every day carry. No headphone or shoulder or molle mount. 5/10

@maxlvledc I'm sorry sir I searched for nitecore wm3 and didn't find any results. Its just my friends seeing that pulled out my pocket and having to explain no lol its not a dictaphone it's just a flashlight.

@maxlvledc do you have any experience with head mounting these ? Or if not do you have a favourite headtorch? Need both my hands for furiously explaining my position in arguments with wild hand gestures.

I dont like these new flashlight with so many clicks to go through. No one needs a strobe. When was the last time you heard of a strobe saving anybody. Low, medium and high is all you need. Sometimes just 2 modes is enough already. Stop over engineering things. It doesnt help sales.

I have never used the strobe on any light, and I am an active LEO. But I did buy this light for duty.

I have only 3 problems with this light 1. Button doesn't always work so you have to press it multiple times. 2. Lenses feel like that they could scratch easily when it's in your pocket. 3. You can't change battery to it.
