i feel and act the same way, i repent and pray daily, but it seems to me the more i do repent and pray my flesh wants to sin twice over, my problem is that i pray to be better, yet to be subtracted! what got me through today was thinking about king david. i'm in the same boat, but my faith stays strong!

Hold on Aria; We all get tempted once in a while. The Adversary (satan) is busy these days and won't leave us alone. Don't let any feelings of frustration or anger take over.The best way to get through these moments it's to PRAY.Don't hesitate to ask for help, strength and discernment. You're just beginning. Aria Carlson Pray for these people around you daily. God loves them. Jesus died for them. There is power in prayer. Life in prayer is an adventure to be able to watch and see what God does. His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9) and He does surprising things we do not expect. The Bible tells us that God is Love (I John 4:7-10). God is almighty, the creator of all, so therefore, Love is powerful. When we do what we do in God's love, while we connect with Him in prayer, creator of all, with your heart in it, seeking the Lord, power is in this beyond any other power. You do need to surround yourself with other strong Bible based believers. I hope you are in a strong Bible based church and are forging relationships with those who actively seek God constantly. We are told to pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17). This is simply walking with the Lord, taking Him with us, as we go throughout our day. Prayers to you. We need to be praying for each other on this forum as we share with each other here. I am doing that for you right now. Remember God knows and sees all (Proverbs 15:3). He knows what you go through and how you press through this, and covers you in blessings accordingly. As Paul wrote that the Lord shared with him in II Corinithians 12:9, "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Aria Carlson In my previous comment, I focused more on your second paragraph about the people around you. Now I notice your first. What you are going through in your struggle with clothing, makeup, music, etc., is the same as everyone deals with money and the Bible does address that. I Timothy 6:10 tells us "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." This verse is often misquoted and misunderstood that actually money is the root of all evil. Notice that is not what the Bible says, it is about the LOVE of it instead. Our love needs to be with God and the things of God. So when we use the money God entrusted us with in the ways He wants us to use it and also placing our trust in God's provision above the trust in security of money, money is nothing more than a resource to us, blessed to us from God that we use while we are in fleshly form in this life. God put us here and gave us what we need to enjoy our time here. These worldly items, whether they be money, clothes, makeup, music, or any of these things we use or enjoy in this life are only resources. Remember in Genesis that God made a beautiful garden of a home for his children to enjoy. Of course we know the rest of that story, that Satan entered and used the beauty God had created for evil. So in the same way, clothes, makeup, and music in themselves are not bad in themselves, but it how we use them. Is it for God? And remember God made us, and God did make women to be beautiful. I think of Esther, who saved her nation as a woman of God. Her story started with her beauty, which she used for God. She did not dwell on her beauty, but we know she must have taken care of herself and presented herself well before others in hygiene and in dress, most likely did fix her hair and dressed as nicely as she thought looked right or she would not have been selected as the most beautiful, the one to marry the king. This is one of these situations in our relationship with our Lord where one size does not fit all. We are all made different. We are all living in different situations, as you have stated you have a unique challenging situation with your environment, for example. God knows each of our hearts. He knows where we are, and He knows what our potential in Him is and where He wants us to be. That is a unique situation for each of us. I have 4 children and each of them are very different. I parent them according to what their needs are and their individual situations. You mentioned the Holy Spirit, and you need to follow what the Lord leads you to do. And you know the reasons why, or you are waiting on the Lord to let you know what is next. This is also why we are not to judge others because we do not know what they are going through or where they are in their individual situation with the Lord. I also think of what God tells us to do when we fast. Matthew 6:17 says to wash our face and put oil on our heads ... of course this refers to what grooming and hygiene was of that day. So I think of that verse and God expects us to look like we present ourselves well before the world when it glorifies God. What is customary in that now is different than what it was then, and that will vary in the world according to place and time. Then those customs, of course, need to be in line with what is pleasing before the Lord, and also where our hearts are in these things. I find that praying, "Show / Help me to be pleasing to you today, my heavenly Father," helps me in having a heart after God in what I do. It is my simple heart check for the Lord. Bottom line, I can share these things to clarify what I think about them according to what I know through scripture and my own experiences with these challenges, as we all have them as Christians. However, ultimately only you can have the answers you need for yourself. One last case for consideration in this is even if we are okay with the Lord in something, we are also called not to do that if it causes another Christian to "stumble." In Romans 14:13-23 and I Corinthians 8:13, Paul addressed this about eating meat. The issue of "meat" then (If I remember correctly, I think it had to do with eating the meat that had been sacrificed in pagan temples, sme Christians had issue with that, others didn't) could be applied to these topics you are talking about that challenge us today. Females have always had these challenges, and always will. In addition, Christian men need to carry their own responsibility to the Lord of keeping their hearts in check as well. Even if all Christian women dress modestly, there are other women everywhere, and images as well everywhere, that are not modestly presented. Of course, we are held to accountability in what we do in our own relationship with God as each of us will make an account before Him some day. (II Corinthians 5:10, Romans 14:12) God bless you.

I can relate. As a child. I used to pray hours before i went to sleep. My thought was - The more i pray the more God will love me. It become so exessive that i was afraid to going to sleep because i had to pray so long. Because if i wouldn't pray God would be angry with me and wouldn't love me anymore. As i grew up because of that i hold a lot of biterness against god because in my view i always had to "work" very hard for the love of god.

Yes, but was the "Christian" upbringing bible-believing, saved Christian? I grew up in a Pentcostal church and was only saved 6 months ago after 38 years thinking the Pentecostals were right. However, by reading and believing Paul's Gospel, I was saved. Most, if not all, Pentecostals are not saved, as for salvation, all they do is ask Jesus into their heart, which is what I did. Not all Christians are Chritians.

Thanks for the response brother. As for me, i think its spiritual because this happens only while i' m asleep. I have no problèmes with my teeth actually and in these dreams, i see myself pulling out this teeth because they really really hurt but they just regrow. However thanks so much for the suggestion
