TOO MUCH WATER IN THIS CHANNEL!

This dam holds tons of the water next to the road. Hunters are not regulating the beavers. Only thing what could help is drain the water regularly. Very wide one and I think deep too. I couldn't check the depth there unfortunately.
Enjoy the video;)

That's crazy for them to tell you not to open it, it would actually help them catch the Beavers as they come back to repair it, they could set up traps there !!

The shallower the water left in the pond makes it harder for beaver to float material in to rebuild the dam. The cut has to go down to the same level as the stream bed down stream from the dam. Visiting the dam regularly, every day or second day will help discourage beaver from repairing the dam. When you remove material from the dam but not from the stream you are making it harder to remove the dam and easier for the beaver to repair the dam. Removing material that is making white water will give you the better results with less work. Sticks hold the mud that holds the water, remove the sticks so you can remove the mud and release the water.

If beavers keep building back in the same place, could you bury something like a chain in the bottom of the river, and easily pull it with a tractor to break a new dam?

Don’t know if this will help, but f you can carry a piece of thin pipe or rebar with you. When you get it flowing back off the pond side wiggle that rebar or pipe in and wiggle it down at an angel to your low side of the dam. It will help eat that sand and dirt off the pond side and help free up any sticks and wash them away. Hope it works for you it always done me right. Love your videos.

Hi Mantas, can you tell us how the trapping and hunting of beavers is organized in Lithuania? Are they just “pleasure” hunters or is there a program of trapping and relocation ?
@Kenislovas
@Kenislovas 9 месяцев назад
Actually hunters are responsible to control population of the beavers. But as I know hunters hates to hunt the beavers. There are some reasons: 1. It's necessary to remove beaver dam to reduce the water and find the beavers. It's a lot of work. 2. If you shoot beaver in the water you must catch it in the water and bring on the edge. 3. Not everyone likes beaver meat. Better they are shooting deer or hogs. 4. You must wait long time for the beaver to come.

@georgew.henkel3182
@georgew.henkel3182 9 месяцев назад
It is not easy to spot a beaver in the wild. Most Trappers set traps to catch the beaver and save the meat and sell the furs to compensate their time and expenses. In my country we have to have a license to control the wildlife with the Game Warden/Natural Resources. If the beavers cause problems for roads, land and farmers. They are relocated to isolated areas. The beaver dams help the fire fighters get water when there is a forest fire. Our people make the beavers work for us and we let them live the life of a beaver.

Hey Papa. There were a lot of branches with "fresh green" still on them, along with all those really big tree stumps and branches. They must have been topping off the dam recently, yes? What does a hunter get in profit when he shoots a beaver? One Pelt or two? I don't know if beaver is edible for humans? They'd need a good number of pelts to make a profit. Why do they not want you to bust the dam, so that they can have some fun shooting beavers ?? Are they not invested in the land and the farms?
