I find w most aero bikes( my trek madone slr gen7) they keep their speeds..when i had the s-works tarmac SL7 it was slightly lighter, got up to speeds very quick, but it didnt hold speeds like my Trek madone...i had maintain the speeds by constantly pedaling but w the aero bike it would hold 20-25mph speeds with ease just coasting.. i might build up another s-works tarmac sl7 just to switch up time to time..i was close to buying the cervelo S5 but the trek madone was alot more comfortable..the S5 rides similar to the older specialized Venge(harsh ride)..
Great info… totally agree. The aero bikes definitely like to go fast and are faster at speed. If you don’t ride at speed, the aero bike is slower. The Tarmacs are great all arounders, but tend to lack at high speed. They shine at stop and go though.
