People never believe me when I say I am Haitian. They always assume that I am South African or Jamaican (because of my St. Maarten Caribbean accent). They thinking my mom is Hispanic.
We wouldn't say all that if y'all treated the blacks fairly though...they put the blacks down, so we exclude them..a small number of them love black..their parents have the monopoly and send them to ivy league school while school close in haiti for people like me..

Of course they are and will always be racists. This is how they are and how they are educated. Not all mulatoos or mixed haitians are racists, but the ones who lives in petionville and those suburban areas in PauPrince are predominantly have this mentality and are extremely racists

Do you have **any** idea how long the odds are of being Haitian, white *AND* gay?. I wanna meet that dude just so he can make a powerball purchase for me
Mannn this is my question: these Lebanese and others if you’re family have been in haiti for 5 generations and later why keep mentioning that you’re Lebanese decent or whatever other foreign country ???
For these people it's important. Why? Because they usually only marry between themselves! So their origins are clearly very important for them even if it's 5 or 10 Generations.
Crazy thing none of them actually look white next to an actual caucasian features wise . They're only called blan because they're significantly lighter than the average haitian ,but just by looking at their features you can tell they're people of color by origin whether that's middle eastern ,Hispanic or mixtures of many
@@sirmarcus8303 oui on est des Haïtiens, mais je suis née au Canada et je peux les comprendre, ces Haïtiens qui ont des racines européennes, je les comprends
Most of these people are Lebanese haitian or Syrian haitian. They are not white. Note that these people also don't claim there middle Eastern roots. Now generations of middle Easterns started coming to Haiti to sell textile in the early 1900s and they stayed. Just like many of haitian childern that where born in the USA are haitian Americans not Americans. There are many different Haitian, Haitians are having children with all types of nationals so you are going to have a variety of Haitians.
There are also polish people who help fight back the oppressor in 1803,there are jews, there were even Chinese but they are haitian and have been so for many generations.
Continue believe That, they are the ones who are racist, breed only between themselves, seing the "dark skin" negro as inferior to them. Come in Haiti you'll find for yourself
@@wuwu2079 what your " own " people mean to you?? You really think everything that apply in the US could apply here too. This is them who make a caste system here, not us
@@bastianx8772 your own people would mean the people that you share the same race and ethnicity with. It doesn’t make someone a racist for simply getting in relationships with people of their own race/ethnicity. Most people want their children to look like them and have their ethnicity
@@wuwu2079 "own people" mean the people that share the same nationality with and have nothing to do with race and ethnicity. "Own people" doesn't have the same meaning in Haiti as in the US. But those people view it in a certain way and see other that didn't look like them as inferior. Those people have very strange family code which can be trace to colonial era. As a child they were taught to not marrying someone who has dark skin or black and to always look for someone who is white or lighter skin while most of them aren't even white nor european. They are mostly mixed and from levant. As a black man,i never teach my kids such things. Haiti has darkskin, light skin people, we don't impose such things ,you marry whoever you like or love

Stop right there Haitians are not Africans. You not about to Dr. Umar this. The Haitian people have always been a complex and mixed one. Most Haitians no matter how dark or light who has done their DNA test can testify. Jan Makadal te di l'afrik deye do nou. Mind you its this same mentaity that keep Haiti in a colorism divide. Before 1804 mulato's been fighting to create a new state. Oge rebellion did you forget about that?
Haitians are in many different races. I’m white and yes I claim my Haitian culture. Haitians speak a European language and a European/African language 😊. Haiti was colonized by the French and took the land from the original people the Arawak. Creole is a French based language mixed with African and Arawak words 😊
@icecreambeats101 being Haitian by nationality is different from being Haitian by blood line. You're only Haitian by colonial default. Haitian are culturally and historically black per 1805 constitution! I'm Haitian born and raised. Our language is only composed of 2% arawak words, ok. Kreyol is an Afrikan language.
