Total congratulations to you and your wife on your new arrival of a baby boy. The circumstances couldn't have been more difficult with the truly exceptional intense cold, snowy weather. I am glad to hear that the cattle seemed to have coped well as did your parents and staff in the really difficult weather in your absence.
Congrats! Some vacation, but one to not forget for sure with the circumstances too lol. At least you got some moisture on the ground, albeit in the wrong form. That -17 you had was pretty much the high temp here in NoDak for a couple days. It's incredible how long it is taking for it to warm back up here, even though we've had south winds for 3 days it is still dropping below zero lol
Will, as you can, you and the Mrs. to get away that you can. When you become parents.... the focus moves. Remember to be sure that the Mrs. always knows how important she is to you. From experience I can share how easy it is to lose sight. It's not that she isn't, it's that there are so many pressing things that divert our attention.
