Don't forget a water to air intercooler too. Also, you can't go boating without a cooler for beverages and snacks. Make sure that weight stays on the opposite side of the fuel tank and it will balance out fine.
@@melle1996meijer supercharged K series would be a perfect combo for that boat. I have a yamaha ski that used to be supercharged, but its turbo now. You cant really jump waves anymore, but its fast as fk
Congratulations guys, she is a ripper! She will be nasty when you get her dialed in and add that turbo. Also you have to get Brent down here, and out on that boat. We need an episode of him laughing his ass off the entire time. We are long overdue.
put a propper centrifugal sand trap on it, like we use here in Newzealand, they work great. Also let off the throttle when running over ground, that will help alot
@@wobblysauce ok, I bought a sand trap house in Detroit for cheap... now how do I hook it up to my jet boat in the south Florida rivers? Any of yall know anyone who could hook me up to the oil pipeline like were stealing cable-tv or something?
You guys are having way to much fun!! I would call that jet boat a definate WIN! You now have another toy to bring content to your channel. Thanks for the ride along.
love the k series in this thing. i say supercharge it. more compact and better throttle response which i feel is what u want in one of these things. great job boys
The jetski engines are built to stay around redline all day long, they have an insanely over built oiling system, an automotive engine wont last to that abuse. For example the fastest skis on the water are reving over 12k with the stock oiling system and valvetrain setup. A guy by me put an s2000 engine into a jetski and it went slower than the yamaha engine and would eat rod bearings alot. They shouldve just went with a yamaha 1800 svho engine, no carbon seal and makes alot more torque and power over the seapoo 3 cylinder and over all more power than a k-series.
Man I would just like to say I'm so proud of you guys. Y'all used to do bare minimum builds now everything is top notch and I truly have enjoyed seeing the progress in the building techniques. This jet boat build has shown that y'all do amazing work when the time is taken to do so. Awesome work guys!!
Yea, you nailed it. Now that they don't cut corners anymore and QA their work more, their projects aren't instantly breaking when they take them out. Its fun to watch them enjoy their hard work, and their machines are badass.
You need a large sand trap so it can hold a larger quantity of debris. The filter also needs to be emptied while under pressure. It also might be worth looking into a small ballast tank system to balance the weight of the boat.
ballast tank would be pretty trick. you could empty or fill it as gas is consumed or refilled. It's not a drag car, a little weight won't hurt too much. Plus when it gets forced air and start making 500hp its gonna be fast enough to handle a 20 gallon water tank.
@@dustyc324 I would probably go with a bit bigger than 20 gallon if possible. Especially if he is going to be driving by himself on multiple occasions.
it might be really doggy out of the hole like that? it's not launching from high rpm like a drag car. It would probably bog really bad until it got up to speed, and they can't turn more than 5500 rpm right now. factory vtech on my TSX is 5100 cut in.
@@austindomingues7328 it simply doesn't have enough power. watch the first ride video and Wyatt explains it. the stock motor doesn't have enough power to spin the pump any faster. whatever it's output at that RPM is all it can do with the weight and drag. the first video had no poly, and thus a ridge, and no trim control. might be turning slightly faster now?
Everybody is getting into these mini jet boats and now I want to get involved! I can TIG aluminum like a mofo and I have 2 interesting engines here that could power one. A lime green supercharged LSJ 2.0 with stage 2 pulley etc from an Ion Redline or Alh VW TDI with 11mm pump. A couple years ago I sold an alh turbo diesel to a fella in northern B.C and this is what he did with it! Sent me a video of it rolling coal out on a lake, it looked fast!
I want to see a water cooled supercharger setup. it's boosted bois and they have enough turbos. would be cool to see a little different setup. and they got the fuel tech that can run anything.
@@dustyc324 The torque from a super charger might even be a better option. Im just hoping whatever they use its snappy. Smaller turbo or supercharger is a perfect idea.
Hello Kyle, you might want to think about a dry sump to help keep the oil flowing . For the front of your boat trailer get a rubber roller with the v in it . Then just fab up a mount where that other thing is for the jetski is. Awesome job on the jet boat guys it looks really good. The video was frigging awesome to watch. Everyone was having a blast hanging out. I can't wait to see your design for the wrap on the jet boat.
If that sandtrap issue persists you could just make a plain closed loop system with a radiator and put it on the hot side. It would help with the balance aswell.
I can’t believe nobody is talking about the freaking plane and boat scene!!!!That was so cool when he was flying the rc float plane and the airboat just happen to come by…. Then you have the shot pan down to show the airboat but then pan back up on the plane, as he flew above the boat….. it sounded like a real prop plane flying in the sky!!!!freaking amazing!!!!
they have a much higher limit than the Rotax. Rotax is already pretty turned up from the factory. previous video says the pump can handle like 3000 rpm more that what they can do on this power. The stock K is absolutely maxing and can't go over 5500RPM. When it gets boosted its going to push all the way to the 8500 limit on the pump. 20mph?
If you're gonna counter balance the weight, maybe add a rack where you can add more or take away weight, makes sure it locks down secure though, and add a quick release if you have to.
Dude, you make amazing Jet Boat videos! It reminds of the fun having days of the old school BoostedBoiz videos! So happy you made this boat and thank you for this video! Let's see it get turbo'd and see this beast rip!!!
Watching the boat build & seeing you guys have that much fun was totally worth it! Glad to see you guys having so much fun this summer! Keep up with all the great content fellas!!
should probably put the little driveshaft in a tunnel after you turbo it, even if it is gonna be under the rear seats, dont want it breaking and destroying everything
Whats with all these poxy trigger throttles? Put a foot pedal in it. Double up with a dual hand control on the side for trim & reverse. If you really must be able to move the boat from out of the seat then maybe instead of the reverse have a hand throttle/trim on the side as well as the pedal. You might also want to put a foot bar forward so you have something to brace against. For balance issues why not look at a dual tank setup maybe mounted to sit as far forward under the rear seats as possible. Throw in a manual selector switch so you can choose which one to suck out of and no worries. So cool you have a Scott Pump. As a Kiwi I love seeing products from our little country being used all over the world. Awesome that you have your boat up and running, they're super cool toys aye. Sounds like Cleetus is a bit jelly of your setup - once you have your turbos in place and start leaving him in your wake whats the bet he'll find an excuse to either repower the Dew boat or get another.😃🏴☠
Favorite build of this channel. My background is marine, and damn the car scene is missing out on a lot. Would love to see you guys at LOZ SHOOTOUT boat races here in Missouri next month. 200mph boats!!
Overall solid unit but you definitely need a bilge pump and a small muffler system and route it through the back of the boat instead of over the back so when you start jumping off the back of it nobody gets burned from the straight pipe and where you have the vise grips to hold the center window closed you can get like a small gate latch to keep it closed and get a better sand trap for it and maybe eventually upgrade to spring loaded seats and I think you'll be in the money then and I think the next year's boat build should either be a sprint racing jet boat like the one Cleetus has been trying out on the West Coast but K swapped of course with a big turbo like the setup in the Van or an air boat with an LS with twin turbos and just so you know if you are towing the air boat to go put it in the water and you run out of fuel in the truck on the way to go get fuel in it before you put the air boat in the water you can always put one person in the air boat on the trailer and one person steering the truck with it in neutral and put the air boat in gear and the thrust from the air boat will push the truck to the convenience store to get fuel in the truck I know this because I've seen it done before you just have to make sure that you have good communication between both drivers so the person in the truck don't slam on brakes and the driver in the boat isn't ready for it or so you don't jackknife the trailer by the person in the truck steering in one direction and the other person in the boat steering in the other direction
Sweet man, that's awesome. She is looking good. That R/C jet boat is sick too! I fly planes and drive cars. Back in 2006 I was #2 in the nation for Gas Trucks on a 1/10 scale dirt oval. 53 Laps in 5 minutes was my best time.
Good times all around , let gooooo, remember to flush your engine out when after each outing, I would put a bigger sand trap or run double traps, but I would not run without one. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Excellent collab. I think a blower with the instant torque would be more enjoyable than a turbo in this instance. Prob not as fast but a blast either way
Would be hard to add one though. It would be in the way of the seat they want to add since it would have to be in line with the other pulleys. Possible, but turbo is just easier for them and cheaper.
What an awesome video of a Great day!Seeing George again and having fun was really kewl. When I suggested "Skippy" for a name,I misspelled. It needs an extra 'Y' for all the air it'll get.>"sKyppy"< still pronounced the same. Can't wait to see the Wrap.
Don't forget to flush the engine and sand trap with fresh water. Congrats on finishing the jet boat for the most part. I can't wait for you to do more videos on the diesel truck, rotary sidekick, and put a turbo in the frs. Plus I can't wait for you to get your replacement engine for Acura I think it is
Hearing the rpms go way up on big jumps makes me so excited for a turbo. The jet has a lot more room for speed once the engine can make better high rpm power.
4:40 Just need to put 100lbs of lead bricks under the passenger seat for now to even her out. If you do it in 4-25lb bricks it can be moved between the driver and passenger seat brackets to get it leveled out depending on the day and what/who is in the boat. Than you can remove it when the turbo stuff adds the weight to the starboard side. I was thinking about 3M panel bond for the polly on the hull. Not to sure, but it was a thought that I had when watching the install video for the polly.
The jet boat is well balanced with 2 people in it. I would still put a grab bar for the passenger and put something in it for your feet to rest on. Great job guys.
This thing is soo sick, and it’s only going to be better as they do more and more to it. Think they should supercharge it rather than turbo, they haven’t done that before. And the wine will be insane!!!
I work with those sandtraps in my well pumps. The purge on the bottom just needs flow to dump. If you look up sandtraps for well pumps, they have some really nice ones that can hold about a gallon of sand before needing cleaned. And even have some auto purging units.
if only it still had the turbo mani on it. it sounded freaking nuts. cleat would have lost his mind lol Glad to see all of you out together. looking forward to seeing more
Nice! Now.. the small turbski installation and a small muffler to not cause that much of unnecessary noise on waters.. yup, work in progress. Good job guys!
