Nice, as a self proclaimed tooloholic, is nice to see what you have and watch you and others working and see the tools, RU-vid has been good to see tools in use that I didn’t even know existed that make jobs easier, Amazon and the internet is nice to search out new and useful tools. You don’t know what you need until you need it and don’t have it. I’ve had lots of ideas for new tools only to search the internet and find they have been making that for years.

Great way to have an inventory for ins purposes for sure. Its in the cloud now. Thanks for sharing. Haven't seen some of those special tools before. you have a bunch of money invested in tools and supplies! great over view of your assortment of what you use, and the impulse purchase. sometimes the impulse buys pay off and other times it is a “paper weight” a great over view of what is in your shop. mac, snap-on, maco, and craftsmen are good quality tools.

23:20 I have started (at home) storing anything that contains batteries with its batteries REMOVED, if it doesn't come out regularly. It's especially a problem if you're storing your things in a place that isn't conditioned and may get really hot. At work, well, you know... But yeah--exploding batteries can really ruin a good tool or instrument and break your heart. I've decided that I can afford a minute before using the tool and another one after to store the tool with its batteries removed.

I'm a home auto mechanic, just work on our 6 vehicles, lawn tractor, horse trailer. I have a fair amount of tools and can definitely see where some can make a certain job easier or quicker, but also one must consider the time to actually find the tool. For example, I do have flare wrenches, but for me a ratcheting flare wrench would likely not get much use.

24:20 I've bought two sets of torque wrenches, 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". First from Harbor freight and second lexicons off amazon. I didnt rust them and a certification lab down the street wanted $70 to test each tool. I didnt oay nearly that much. Instead, thanks to RU-vid, I bought a hanging scale and was able to verify that they were really close, maybe not precise, but I hadnt used them before the first new set and couldnt really gauge them from feel. I was afraid of busting bolts or studs. Now all is good.

I was hanging out with a friend back in 1986. I rode over to his parent's house on my motorcycle and was going to give him a ride to work. We were talking and I was basically watching him clean his room. This reminds me of that. What I remember about that day was he was going through his mail and came across a postcard advertisement from the local Kawasaki dealer. It was promoting the new Ninja 1000 as seen in the hit movie Top Gun. We saw the name of the movie and we both laughed at the name not knowing the context of the name. I don't believe the movie had come out yet and if it had, we hadn't seen it yet. It had to be warm enough for me to have ridden my bike.Anyway.. We had no idea how iconic the movie would become. Now they were promoting the Ninja 1000 which replaced the 900 Tom Cruise rode in Top Gun. It was weird that he got this advertisement because I was tge one with the motorcycle and I was into sport bikes.

@wilbilt 10 месяцев назад
When I first started wrenching around 1980, Harbor Freight was known as Harbor Freight Salvage Co. They were mail-order only and sent out paper catalogs. I had some tools, but needed some things, like impact sockets. I bought a set of impact sockets and some other things from them for cheap. Every one of those tools failed in short order. One impact socket exploded in my hand,requiring a trip to the ER for stitches. Harbor Freight has come a long way since then.
