I just purchased this. No led light, no wood tray, and only one outlet strip these days. Still very happy with it

Thank you for the honest review of this box. I have to admit, I do like that Husky but you nailed me, I am your typical "Harry Home-Owner DYI Guy" and not a mechanic of any sense. You taught me something about this box no other video pointed out, and I appreciate that.

I have this box combo and have been using it for about 8 months.I do Small Engine repair as a side business and this setup has exceeded my expectations for organizing my hand tools so I am not opening and closing drawers all the time to get a socket,then a ratchet,etc.I put my boxed tools(gear puller sets,power tools,in the big bottom drawers.Great chest/cabinet combo!

I've had this toolbox for almost 2 years now working as a Ford technician and used it every single day, I've rolled it around the shop when needed, and have been able to get 90% of my sockets in the main long drawer and kept my specialty ones 2 drawers below. The bottom two drawers I've used for blow molded specialty tools and they fit perfect. Took some organization but I'd highly recommend this box for any starter before purchasing something way out of their price range. Remember the tools and technician get the job done, not the yool box.

I have an older Husky tool box and it's held up pretty well over the years. The drawer runners are starting to go so I may in the market soon for a new box. Thanks for the great review !

I know you guys don't really cover stuff from Harbor Freight but I would really like to see you cover some of their tool storage options. They're extremely competitively priced with husky and you get a lot of build quality for your money.

Thank you for an actual review. Was looking at solely the bottom chest for work, and the top drawer of it wouldn’t work for me because of my socket trays.

I own this box and use it everyday your sockets will fit in the long draw if you use a lower profile stand and it fits all my sockets for heavy Equipment and large trucks

I have this set, and with my other storage options, it is working well for me. One thing to note: my set (top and bottom) are keyed alike. The individually keyed drawer is different, but the top and bottom are the same. They ship them paired up, one set per pallet.

The variety of boxes and drawer combinations is like shoe shopping for the ladies. It is best left to the buyer to make the final decision, once they see the options and variations you guys present. Setting up the tools is a whole different animal....once again left to the purchaser to make the final decision once they view your videos to see what is available. Thanks for taking the time to inform us. J K

I like the magnetic backing up top. I have a bunch of magnetic panels on my cabinets and they are very useful. All in all it's a decent box. Like u said prob more for a stationary type of setup.

I dunno, I roll mine all over the shop. 1yr in still all seems fine, fully loaded too. If your floor isnt very smooth id be a bit more worried, but in most shops and garages id think it would be fine.
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 5 лет назад
Part of the reason we say not to roll them much comes from our experience with 56" models. The center wheels will bend in our out if rolled often.

Just bought this last week. $798 black Friday deal so it's more expensive now. But there's no better value out there for the money in a semi pro grade like this.
@BTC909

My store has this and the 61". The 61" was downright cheap feeling. Did the palm test in the center of the 52" & 61", the 52" was fine, the 61" flexed a bit. No slow close drawers on the 61".
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 5 лет назад
Might the 61 had silver handles for the drawers? If so, that is a step down in the quality. The black on black is a step up from the black and silver. But now they have other colors also....

Have you had any issues locking the upper lid lock ? I can only lock the drawers if the lid is not closed.

I just got this bottom cabinet and am in process of setting it up. Amazing quality and thickness of the metal for the price paid. Couple questions, i'd like to use it as a work bench also. Couple of questions. 1. How stupid would it be to take off the casters and just use it as a stationary box/bench in a home/garage DIY application (I have no need to roll it around and the lower ht without the casters would provide)? 2. Is the top thick enough to use as a workbench or would it be better to put a layer of wood or something on top?
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 6 лет назад
1. Not installing or removing the casters would be no big deal if you do not want the height. 2. You will want to add wood or metal to the top to use it as a workbench! It only has supports on the sides where the upper box would normally attach.

4 years late to this video, but they updated this box and the full width drawer is now deeper. It's now the deepest drawer on the box at 4 1/2" (except for the bottom two, obviously).

Thank you for the review. The configuration of this box seems to have changed. The top drawer on the lower chest is now deeper (4.4") and the lower drawer on the top chest appears to be shallower (3.6"). Would you please indicate what would be the minimum depth recommended for the socket drawer considering magnetic tray with vertical sockets and minimum recommended depth for the power tool drawer, you said at least 4" was wasted on this tool chest. Thanks again.

Wanted to confirm - I bought the newer model (4 casters, not 6) and the top drawer of the bottom half has more than 4 inches of clearance.

The Milwaukee 46" standard and Heavy Duty Boxes have a frame to the bottom of them and would be a big upgrade over the 52" if you needed to roll it around a lot. The 56" has a stronger bottom, but I believe that one is just boxed 19 guage steel.

@@WorkshopAddict I just brought one of these home today. My bottom cabinet has a very heavy frame under it and is supported very well. The insides are also completely finished with no bare metal. They must have revised this tool box from when you guys did the review. I also have one handle on the top lid in the center which is way better than having them on each end it reduces the lid binding and twisting against the top box. I think besides the new 56 inch Milwaukee cabinet its the best one I looked at today. I liked the International Pro better for the drawer layout and sizes but it was built light. There really isn't a perfect tool box for someone like me lol

Thank you for the husky box review sirs...I'd rather not have the magnetic strip on the back,I'd rather have couple long power supplies in that area,and have both too and bottom locks keyed the same,but otherwise I like it..

Wait for the drawers to start sagging
@BMack37
@BMack37 6 лет назад
I hate the bottom drawers being that deep. Also, make the damn thing taller, it doesn't have a lip on the top so it should be at least 72" tall (when closed) and get rid of the magnet on the back (Put peg board if anything). More drawers and the deepest any drawer should be is for a circular saw, that bottom drawer has a circular saw and about 3-4" of space above it, that is ridiculous.
@derekmoen5382

I got this box and i agree 10 inches would have been more than enough and they could have added another drawer. But I looked and 7 different brands today and this seemed to have the best drawer sizes for my needs
@1981vwagner
@1981vwagner 4 года назад
I like the bottom drawer depth it allows me to put my circular saw in it with the carrying case i came with, one ove the reasons i went with the box.
