It’s a bit terrifying when you realize a tool is about to crash your workpiece or fixture. Best-case scenario: You hit E-stop in time. Now what? Not to worry. Here’s how to safely put your tool changer back in working order.
More episodes please. We have multiple Doosan machines in our shop and these make a great reference for our machinists. Your competitors (Haas, Mazak, etc.) do a greeat job of making videos available, you are missing an opportunity to build goodwill with your customers.
Some newer Doosans are lucky to have this key-in possibility. Or, you have the likes of Hartford, where the only option after pressing reset while tool is changing (same if it makes a bump noise due to obstruction or Z0 misalignment, typically after 'overload') is to put a bucket of swarf under both tools. Or have someone holding them, while you climb the 3m up on the roof of the beast with 14mm spanner, open the fixing brake prong around toolchanger motor and slowly turn motor axis bolt with spanner, returning arm to peace position with considerable force and close the fixing brake. Once the arm let go of the tool, it will fall from the spindle and 50/50 chance of the one in toolholder to do the same, if not high enough to clip in. Done it many times while alone, much fun with 2 buckets!
These videos are great, thank you. I have a question. How do you change the date and time on a new lynx or puma with fanuc controls. No one at my shop knows how. I'm new there and hate that the times are wrong on all the machines. Thank you!
Jason, sorry I am just now seeing this. Check out this video. How to change the clock starts at about the 2:30 mark. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MjGW5LNCOL0.html
Just circling back around to give you a little better time frame idea, keep an eye out for that video in September. Many people have asked for this video and we show you how to do it on the Legacy controls and the new iHMI controls.
If you know that, doesn't mean the format will be copatible, read right or at all. On Hartford Tornado2 yougust press Open and choose USB, but there is a chance it won't display some files made on Fusion360. Don't remember wich and why, as someone made the CAM programs for me.
Chase, thank you for the suggestion. We are compiling a list of suggestions and we will add this one to it. There are more videos coming in the days and months to come so keep an eye out for those!

RW, thank you for the feedback. We are constantly coming up with ideas for future videos that are customer based. Keep an eye out for future videos and I will add your suggestions to our growing list. Thank you for choosing Doosan! - MC
