I just finished my early sunrise 2 mile walk outdoors. So enjoyable to view the sky changing colors and the warmth of sunlight caressing my cold winter skin.

Key Takeaway Outdoor exposure to full-spectrum lighting might play a significant role in controlling myopia progression, potentially more than excessive near work for children's eye health. Summary Myopia, particularly common in Asian populations, has been a concern in eye health, especially among children. Historically, excessive near work was thought to be a primary factor in myopia development. Recent studies have shifted focus towards the impact of outdoor exposure to full-spectrum lighting versus indoor activities on myopia progression. Research suggests that spending time outdoors, especially with exposure to natural sunlight, might mitigate myopia progression in children. Randomized controlled trials are being considered to determine optimal outdoor exposure duration for maximum eye health benefits. The balance between near work and outdoor activities, particularly exposure to different types of lighting, is being explored for its impact on eye health. Suggestions include encouraging outdoor activities, balancing near work with outdoor time, and the potential benefits of morning sunlight for circadian rhythms and overall eye health.

I spent the majority of my time growing up outside, and I would read a chapter book a day on average.

So I'm nearsighted and wear prescription sunglasses so I can enjoy the beauty outside. Should I not be wearing glasses to improve my eyesight?

Glasses actually can make your eyes worse, there are ways to heal your eye sight.

Doesn't matter what glasses you wear. Spending time outdoors to get early morning sunlight going through your eyes to improve your vision and circadian cycle.

There are a lot of kids living in unsafe areas. Schools should provide more exercise and less competitive sports. It’s necessary for kids to do their work on computers now.💻🖥 I think what helps Andrew feel safe in his running and morning sunlight - outside environment, is the fact that he has lived at the University and around that area for over half of his life. He is a tall, muscular man. 💪 For many of us other females or young people, we are more venerable outside. I can't just go running outside my house. I tried to use my city walking trail and one day, passed by a man in black camo holding a rifle. I guess he thought he would need to shoot a snake or something. 🙄 There are crazies out there.
