Tool - Invincible (Live Premiere May 5th 2019) On May 5th 2019, Tool performed a new song called "Invincible" for the first time at Welcome To Rockville 2019. The new song will feature on the new Tool album.
I'm sorry that this is a little late. There wasn't a lot of material to work with to be honest. These 2 new songs are absolutely phenomenal in my opinion. Imagine hearing the studio versions.
I've literally graduated high school, graduated college, gotten married, bought a house, and had TWO kids since 10,000 days. It HURTS to be a Tool fan but this feels soooo gooood.
@@amberkaye88 that is soooo heart warming ! on my side, my mom discovered Tool through me when I was in highschool ! and now we're going to be able to discover the new one together :D
That's what I think people thought in the 60's about a bunch of bands. Crazy that this is the only band I feel that way about currently. Trent Reznor being another artist I feel that way about. Both saved my life at different times in my lifetime so maybe it's just me.
Tool lost all respect by the fans for. Fucking with them , dragging fans into believing it was coming every few months.........not cool. New music sucks btw.
Adam Jones literally came into my work almost 2 years ago. The nicest guy ever. Stopped to talk to me for a second. Told about some shows coming up. Ask him about when the new album is coming out, jokingly. He pauses and smiles. Looks at me and says, "Soon."
Yeah bro, he totally is, what do you do for work where he came into? In 2013 in Sydney, I got the VIP experience ticket. It was the best things still to this day I've ever done. We got to go to sound check in an indoor stadium of 15,000-20,000, depending on set-up, they did 4 songs, there was only 20 of us. Then they put us in this classroom sized room, and said one member will be with you soon. The 20 of us sit there, and in cruises Adam. He was so humble, sweet, honest. He opened with something along the lines of 'hey guys, I'm Adam, this isn't a question and answer session, this is just a bunch of people having a chat. . He spent like an hour talking with us, then had his guitar, we all got to hold and play it, then showed us how he wrote jambi..just a genuine dude!
I need to wait for the album release because I cannot hear what the fuck is going on with these idiots talking in these last two videos. It’s new tool SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SPIRAL OUT
The progression from Undertow to this is absolutely mind boggling. Some friends of mine said they didn't dig on 10,000 Days as much as previous work, but to me it was so much more complicated, more indicative of the progression of a man's life, or rather his perception of the progression of mankind through his years. This has so much feeling for me.
Eric Richmond i became a fan of tool a couple years after they stopped. Its also an exciting moment for the people who joined late because tool is making a new album.
"I paid over $150 for this ticket to see an artist that has an incredibly passionate fan base. Sounds like they're playing a new song--that hasn't happened in 13 years. I should probably talk through the whole thing" - +30% of the audience at this show, apparently
They should at least talk about the band. There was another video with people talking about the song "wait what's this song?!? This is brand new!! Aw my gawd!!" It was cute!
they debuted this song the day my daughter was born. its been a pleasure showing her their music these last 4 years. we may even see them live next year. fingers crossed
Im working as a Roadie.....living my life from stage to stage.....but wanna say this.....big BRAVO to the tehnicians doing the lights and sounds on this event.....they just make Tool`s songs even greater with their work.....I wish I could be there.......Stay good all of you!!!!!!
@@rowhaus5478 I'm not going to argue with you there. Even more so since Lateralus. However, songs don't need to be complex to be interesting and speak to you. Take NIN "La Mer" for example. Very simple, yet wonderfully crafted to invoke emotion.
@@shtevcorpse6392 I think he plays them 3 strings the same. A perfect circles eat the elephant is a great release. Im not sure about tool. Not excited but ill check it out.
@@zedd187 Sounds like he tool the pull through technique from Jambi and slowed it way down, badass rhythm riff. Have to give Danny Carey props for really adding to the riff with his drumming in that portion.
Im so sorry for you. Much love and respect. Never forget the good moments you had with her and she's still alive in your heart. Tool is my fav rock group. I like manards other projects but tool is the best.
@@kilmoturtles1 Not just those on RU-vid, those in the audience too. It's annoying that people feel the need to chatter away in quiet sections of songs.
@@Subatomic_Glue Considering how long we have had no tool activity and we have all been desperate for new material. When Tool plays new music you shut the fuck up!!
@@Subatomic_Glue Off with their heads! It's one thing to talk in a public gathering, but to talk when you knowingly know that this is going to be uploaded onto RU-vid . I just have no words to describe my disappointment
He had a Jesus Christ look, during the 10,000 Days tour, remember? Then, the Abraham Lincoln/Lumberjack phase, with the BOW TIE and all,,but what now? Something new.. 😎
Every time I listen I think I’ve heard all its complexity & all it has to reveal & conjure up in me, then on next listen it levels up again & blows my head off all again.
I always come back to this video. It still gives me chills. I was the type of person who checked reddit every 20 minutes for 5 years waiting for shreds of info on the new Tool. I knew this show was happening, I knew odds were high there would be new songs, and I knew ToolArchive would deliver. I'm not ashamed to admit that when this video dropped it was perhaps the single most exciting moment of my life.

Why does every version of the lyrics I’ve seen say: “ bellied in” ? As far as I know, that’s not a real phrase, and since I don’t really hear the last “ed” of it, I’m tempted to think the actual lyric is: “belly in”. Just makes more sense to me. Anyone have a reason to say otherwise?
Holy hell, I can feel a Lateralus-level album coming. This sounds more how I thought 10000 Days would sound before it was released. Thanks for the lyrics.
There is way too much nuance and skill in Jstins bass playing, Adams guitar work and Danny's drumming for any live recording to do it justice, unless of course pro shot with soundboard audio.
Wow the technical composition of this song plus the quality of this song played live is amazing. By my calculations the studio version will be a level of epicness beyond definition!
I was washed with those very vibrations when they played at the Monster Mash festival, I was about 5 to 10 yards in front of the stage where he was positioned at. Man that was an experience to behold. But I can only imagine what it was like at the very front.
Tool is transcendent so how can you not believe? Do you not have faith in Tool? It should not be a surprise. Any amount of jaw dropping was not enough (just like you can never have enough cowbell) :P.
This booody, holding me, reminds me of my own morality, embrace this, moment, remember, we are eternal, all this pain is an illusiooooon... bernerbernerbernerbernerbuhwuhweerrrrr.
Guitar Chalk Seriously, watch him closely the first minute. He is like a 12 year old pumping his fists at Danny when his drums kick in. Fucking love his enthusiasm
When you get close enough to look in his eyes and see his facial expressions he makes while he’s playing you really see how much he’s feeling it. He’s so fucking awesome.
@Overcome Absofuckinglutely. 22 times I've seen them live and it is never the same experience. It's about your mindset going into each show that determines the experience.
@Overcome Totally agree bro! People who talk such shit might have only listened to a very few songs (Mostly from the 10,000 days era) and then over judge things. They don't really understand what Tool is all about..It would take a lot of time and patience to understand their music. Its not just mere music. Its an experience which is emotional as well as spiritual...
at 2:40 I'm being escorted to the side of the stage, after crowd surfing, by a guard holding a flashlight, holding my face because I'd been crying and friendly people literally 'lifted' me up. Was too emotional to take any pictures or videos. What an experience !! Was in tears for hours, my word, can't explain the feeling.
I'm buying all new new Bose speakers just for this album and will listen to it for the first time in my living room on a chair in the middle of the room while sipping champagne.

It’s called being a drummer. Drummers limbs should all move independently, regardless of what beat their playing. I played the drums for about fifteen years. I was able to do it with variable ease. Then I graduated to guitar. I still play drums of course. Just not as much.
I dig the studio version. But yes I dig the live also. I'm not at all disappointed with tools latest release. This kind of music is long overdo to make waves to the mass
Brian Walendy Right on! Im happy for you :) good luck with writing more tracks. It's really beautiful how Tool can get that fire going again in people. Keep loving what you do dude.
Mythical_RaDs Man thats the worst! Good excuse to re-string and clean your guitar.. Unless its already clean then big F haha. Hopefully you have a backup guitar to play around on
That crowd is the reason i dont go out anymore. Tool playing a new track- yep lets talk all the way through it ffs. Half of them dont deserve to be at that gig. Flame me
Never had any doubt. This is what four humble guys - setting the 'Bar' even higher - a loyal base willing to wait however long it takes, I'm 65-years-old, trust me, I'm the program director who refused to play Tool edited. Last station I owned is to this very day still #1...
Not defending him or the nature of this, but when becoming this popular it’s hard to stay humble. I greatly respect anyone who makes it the world stage and doesn’t get full of themselves for even a moment. It’s just human. Now being able to keep your ego in check while all of that goes on is incredible. I can’t say for sure if anyone does that, but it seems like Keanu Reeves might be one of them
@quartzlcc I mean he can write some pretentious lyrics but he seems like a grounded dude. Just is a bit of a jerk to fans and half of that is him trolling. After listening to interviews, reading stuff that people who have met him have said and observing his lyrics, I just think that he's got his own persona. It's not the outgoing nice guy one but one where he chooses to seclude himself and enjoy life with people and activities he values. I've never heard anyone close to him, musician or otherwise, really speak negatively of him. I think that says something. Also check out his video series The Art of Work.
@@kennedycrevoiserat7095 wasn't really a jab at you, it's just been 13 years since we've had any new TooL so it was more or less taking a jab at them for taking so long to put a damn record out haha. But welcome to the TooL family
The sheer brilliance and artistry come from 4 people totally and completely understanding what each other brings to the project, and a deep understanding of how that dynamic plays into each of their own ego's. Music and mood first, then Maynard attachs vocals to it that he feels represent the feel of whatever he feels. Its a literal simple process but it grants us musical, and artistic genius everytime.
@@vahrzawofficialtracks yea there are and on my laptop I had 11,500+ songs from around 800 bands. And I listen to other bands still but I havent bought an album in years. Learn to read without being a douche

It's still so unreal I got to see Tool for the first time live front row for this show! I had to stand in my spot for 3 hours, and it was worth it beyond words. They sounded absolutely flawless, and Invisible is one of my favorite songs now. The lyrics and instrumentals are equally perfect. Can't wait for the album!
Study their lyrics.......they achieved spiritual enlightenment and they are trying to pass it down to the rest of the world. And I say they are doing a damn good job.
Justin with his rocky power stance, Adam in the zone walkin over to justin, Maynard crouching despite the hip injury and in the centre, Danny the piledriver holding the reins. This made my entire year. Thank you Tool, the most honest band. Thank you ToolArchive, distributor of happiness.
Honestly I'm just surprised I'm still alive to witness their new album. At the time of lateralus I didn't have plans to fade away silently, I was on the path to burn out bright. My how things have changed! For the better I might add! Glad to be here!!
Love TOOL so much. I have graduated college, gotten married, bought a house, and had FOUR kids since 10,000 days and know my sons will love the new stuff and go see TooL live together. Rock on Dudes \m/
I love how the polyrhythms that Danny plays in this song create a sort of ostinato that's easy to "latch on to" and follow along with while they're playing in odd time signatures. Absolutely brilliant.
Adam fist bumps MJK in either this or the Descending video. Seeing that, and that weird back and forth rocking thing Maynard does, it just puts a smile on my face. Tool is back!
These guys are unbelievably good live performers. Their sense of timing is on another level entirely. That drumming!!! Can't wait to hear the new album.
The drum lines, the bass lines, the guitar lines and the vocals, everything is so on point and quite fresh ! It's been a long work but damn they're coming back strong, can't wait to hear the full album
Space cat It’s literally been said from inside sources that this is Tools’ magnum opus and the two songs out now haven’t even scratched the surface to what is on the album. True Tool fans know they always have something up their sleeves.... it is more than just music....
*I was there. So happy to experience such an amazing thing. I'm lucky to say the least. To be one of the first people to see their first performance of some of their new music from their upcoming album.*
@@iEatZzz I was crowd surfing and actually enjoying myself unlike you who would have sat and held your fucking phone and recorded it. I actually like to have fun. And it was a festival with almost 100k people. Obviously people are gonna talk. Get the fuck over it and stop whining like a pussy. Maynard talked about his whining fans and how annoying they are. I see that now.
Hell yeah man! I saw them play Descending at AfterShock in 2016 and going to see them this Oct again. Gotta hear this song live and hopefully some more if they release their album before then.
iEatZzz I think he’s right to feel that way and you wouldn’t understand because you weren’t there. You’re the one who’s actually speaking from a place of the ignorance. Everything was honestly fine in this conversation before you decided to step in and be a fucking asshole. You’re so entitled you’re going to bring down another person’s experience because you’re not getting anything out of an experience (which you were never at to see) through a fucking smart device which used to never exist for thousands of fucking years. Think about that for a moment you egotistical fuck. Jesus Christ. People hate talking when your listening to music through a phone but it’s a different overall experience watching the band live because the sound is 100% natural and actually happening in that moment. And because this is a recording you’re a lot more likely to hear the people talking around the phone as opposed to talking all the actual sound in. Use your fucking head prick.
i don't really understand what is trying to do maynard with the voice, i can't follow a really groove from his part, maybe sound better in studio version idk, but the song is really good and original
@@Annatar7 I get that. Trying to create melodies to go with those complex instrumentals and time signatures would be difficult i'm sure. It took me several listens to really get into it
God, every time I revisit this song I see it is so much more beautiful, more meaningful - layers of stunning complexity are revealed that I didn't really hear on first listen. Now that I understand the lyrics, this song truly does move me to tears in the right moment. It can also be so potently motivating in a way that says to me, *"there is no space right now for worrying about trivialities & unknowns, the past - just press forward, one foot in front of the other. You have to keep moving no matter what. Draw upon your Inner Warrior who is Divine, Eternal and Invincible, and press on."* There is so much going on here, what seems relatively simple at first glance, time has proven to be much more sophisticated, beautiful & ultimately inspiring. Tool has again created something Timeless.
Wish I still had a local music store. Those were the fucking days. I could buy band tshirts and cds in the same place.. Wear the shirt home while rocking the fuck out. Those were the good old days. And I'm only 32.
