Christ, it feels like it was just yesterday when they finally released 10,000 Days yet it was 16 years ago and now this album is already 3 years old... The older you get the faster the earth spins...Hopefully we get one more album before i'm dead
Fuck man, It feels like Undertow was released just last year! I watched an interview that Maynard did with Rick Beato and he said it takes 3 years for the guys to have enough songs written or the ideas written down so they can get together and learn them to then make an album. it sounds like they are writing the entire time between records! Makes sense because they are complex as fuck!
I remember seeing Tool at Lollapalooza '93. It seems like yesterday! One of the best shows I've ever been to. Hopefully I will have a chance to take my son one day🤞
And that's why we wont get a new album every year. These guys have other things going on in their lives that they don't want to regret when looking back.. Just enjoy what we can get.
So many bands could be and are a revolving door. Literally would be no TOOL without the boys in this video. Appreciate everything they’ve done and continue to do. Never be anyone like them ever again.
At the 14:57 mark (and just off camera) Justin threw me his set list that he ripped up from the floor. I was already speechless at that point, and it was such a great cherry on top of it all.
Thank you for the care and quality you put into this recording, like panning between Adam and Justin ahead of their bit, anticipating their parts, or staying on them as they exited the stage. Magic moments, amazing performance. Appreciate you for sharing it all with us.
Crystal clear video....one of the best I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing, man! I saw them this tour in San Antonio, Texas from the 9th row. I thought I had been transported to another freaking dimension!
First time I saw tool. Lateralus tour. Wow that was fucking amazing! Speechless. Second time 10,000 days whoa!! that was outstanding . Even better than the first time. In awe. Third tool concert. They did it again. Better than before I could die today. My life is complete. 4th time fear inoculum . They did it again best show yet. Fucking show offs. I would appreciate if heaven could be every tool concert ever for eternity.
I've been playing guitar for 25 years and Adam has been a constant, deep influence on my playing almost since the beginnnig. Starting with Lateralus in 2001 it's been a practice method of mine ever since to learn TOOL songs on guitar by ear, and that continues to this day with Fear Inoculum. "Invisible" is the one I'm learning now, and I gotta say, I'm forever grateful to you getting videos like this, because it's EXTREMELY helpful in getting to see exactly how Adam plays this song. Cheers!
When I saw them in Toronto in 2019 I was 6 rows back from the stage and I can remember Justin hitting his chest with his fist and looking so proud when maynard sang "boooold and prouuud" It was mesmerizing.
Tool and Gojira Two different vibes, but two absolutely mind blowing live bands. TOOL puts you in a trance and you and the rest of the crowd are 100% invested in the show. Gojira is just pure heavy smack in the face all night.
I was at Clevelands , upper deck centered. You're right about the lights and screen! Absolutely sick. Was wondering, did they turn the volume up for this last song ? It was insanely loud and I f'ing loved it
For real. I just saw them play in San Antonio and was honestly amazed at how good they were even being up in the nosebleeds. NIN live is incredible and I’ve seen them multiple times but Tool might actually be at the top for me now. By a fraction.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for an awesome footage. I hadn't listened to Fear Inoculum properly prior to the Tool concert pre-pandemic and thus hadn't realised how much I would love this song and how it would become of one my favourite of theirs. I think i watch and re-watch this footage weekly.
Saw them in Stockholm the other night…unreal. I don’t think any other concert will ever top this! The audience were spellbound. It was also interesting to see the agespan in concert. From the really old to children 💪🏻🎯😁Thank you for this, I was a bit further from the stage but now I got the frontrow view too✨👍🏻
Great video… gives us a chance to focus the googley eyes on each of the boys.. Justin is a bass beast and while Adam doesn’t move much, he’s certainly not hard on the eyes. As a drummer, Danny is always reminding us what a brilliant phenom he is. Maynard is always typically the great background vocals. Talking about Live music without a Tool mention, is just wrong in every way !! 😎
Great video. Greetings from big Tool fan in Florida. I grew up in the Quad Cities and remember seeing a lot of concerts in Davenport. Would have been cool to be at this show in Moline!!!
I love how Maynard -with the wigs to keep his son unaware of how popular he is staying back on stage.4:30 solo is Noyce...12:40 with that abv average drummer DC.14:30 All So Beautiful.. Dirty yet Cleansing.n I bet Maynard is taking off the mohawk wigger. I think the verse sounds like Geddy/Rush some. Even an xTc song where "Warrior" is repeated..good shootin Tex!🤟🏾 ♥️🤟🏾🍞
Great job on the video. I saw Tool in New Orleans Feb 5th and it was truly amazing. Tons of people were singing along to this song which is kind of weird for a Tool concert but, I was singing too. It was a spiritual experience.
I was at this concert! Such an amazing show! Taking my girlfriend to see them on Halloween in St. Paul. Her first rock concert and might as well be to see the GOATs!
Such a great show. you know... 8 songs by the Acid Helps? Seemed to take an eternity. 8+ long freaking songs by TOOL? went by in an instant... LOL I wanted more!
I’ve watched this video a hundred times, and every time I end up saying the same thing, “Dude, really? Those guys are just too good!” I mean REALLY?😁👍🏽
This just might be the best damn video on RU-vid, of no doubt the best damn band to ever walk the planet! Not sure that a professional could have done better. Thank you for sharing! I was at the show the night after this one in St. Louis.
Thanks for sharing, lucky ducky for experiencing Tool live, yet to achieve that, its on the list of to do b4 I die lol even if Im 70 when I get to see them
I think its fugginx awesome tjat they are playing some epic ass killer next level fuggin' music and just as chill and nonchalant like" yeahits just another tuesday, now gimme your soul..." loved seeing em in atlanta like 20 years ago... loved it then, love it now. Thanks for the video. Felt like i was there kinda sortaa
Really great audio on this. Blows my mind how many people prefer soundboard audio for these live recordings. Hearing the sound in the room/the overall acoustic presentation is ALWAYS better to my ear. They’re sounding so thick and dialed in. And I’m not sure what had happened to Maynard’s voice a few years back, but he’s easily sounding the best he has in a decade.
I was waaayyyy the crap up in 206A. But it looked and sounded great even from up there. Although my nephew and I were joking that Maynard could have performed the whole thing from backstage somewhere and just had a body double up there. We would have never known.
Wasn't this show badass? I was there too, about 6 rows back on the first level. When Maynard said "you were great, thank you very much" no no, YOU were 😭 Wish I could teleport myself back right now!
Was at this show, brought my 2 13 yo's and 11 yo to witness the greatest band of all time. They aren't quite ready for it to be honest, but couldn't pass up the chance. Just a phenomenal performance start to finish. They even played Opiate!
The "air humping" lol because he's not even jamming to the beat. It's honestly hilarious and awesome to see how he gets into the music. He truly loves his job. Goes along with the lyrics or the guitar riff while managing to keep his bass lines spot on. I play guitar and absolutely CANNOT do something like that without fucking up the tempo in my head.
Remember the first hundred years of your life before you got a crowd video that looked like THIS from a phone? Not even camcorders looked this good and forget the sound being listenable
Danny is the greatest drummer in my book even John Bonham would agree if'in he were here today. Maynard is the most interesting man in the world he needs be on the Dos Equis guy! #TOOLLIFE🤘🤘
Danny is in my opinion, best ever. But I’m biased as hell!😂😂 Maynard…without question one of the best lyricists ever. Incredible what he comes up with. Plus, man can actually sing! Adam, underrated IMO. He’s so percussive in how he plays and his tone is perfection. Justin…dude is so vital. As are the rest but he is such a creative bassist. Incredible what actually isn’t Adam with the riffs. Bottom line, one of the best collection of musicians ever. Never be anyone like them ever again. So incredibly talented, tight, and unique.
You can't be serious? His drumming could easily be replicated by the average rock drummer. There is nothing special about his drumming that makes him stand out.
