Very creative and an excellent finished product. THUMBS UP for the FAST MODE VIDEOING during the repetitive parts. I wish more folks would use the FAST MODE so I could stay awake during some of those videos.

Yes!!! I can't stand when people make how to videos that have huge amounts of time devoted to a decision making process talked out in the vid. or what ever else that is totally unnecessary.

Awesome. If I had the wood saws I would definitely make something like this in the future. I made my own rack with a dish drying rack a few years ago and also use the ones made for pliers. I would do this and stain the wood for a awesome style. Great video

Real nice organizer. You should lower your table saw blade to 3/16" (tooth height) higher than panel thickness. That way, if the blade catches you it won't cut off a finger.

I've made an organizer tray vaguely similar to this, But instead of wooden dividers I made mine out of bent up bits of coat hanger wire. They're called dish strainer style organizers. Some people even cut up wire dish strainers for the dividers.
@makingitmatters9587
@makingitmatters9587 8 лет назад
+Paul Frederick Yes, I've seen those. I was initially thinking about making one of those myself. It sure would have been quicker
@1pcfred
@1pcfred 8 лет назад
Making it Matters Oh I don't know about that. Well if you started out with a wire rack of some sort maybe. The way I made mine with just wire was fairly time consuming though.

I like this, very clean looking. I have a divider in my box made from wood as well, but not a well thought out. My concern is that wood absorbs moisture, and then it is resting against the tools. I want to find a cheap, quick and easy metal divider solution, preferably that is adjustable. Again, nice work.

Bryce, I hadn't thought about the moisture - I would imagine that could be a problem in more humid climates. I live in a pretty dry climate. Thanks for the comment

I thought about doing this, but the panels take up 6 1/2" of space in the box. I with there were thinner options for partitions.
@robertweekley5926
@robertweekley5926 4 года назад
Glen, There is Plywood as thin as 1/32" for sure, and some might even be thinner! How thin do you want? I think 1/8" is probably as thin as you want! Boat Builder suppliers, or Maybe "Aircraft Spruce" is a good search!
@EPaulIII

Great idea but way too much work. I purchased a handful of aluminum yardsticks at HF for about $1 each and cut them into lengths to fit my draw. Then I drilled a 1/4" hole in each end of them and assembled them with a couple lengths of threaded rod and some nuts I bought by the pound at the farm supply store. Great dividers for the tools at my electronic bench. And as someone else pointed out, the wood spacers take up a lot of space in the drawer. My aluminum yardstick segments are only about 1/8" thick or less so the wasted space is totally minimal. And yes, the slots filled up all too quickly. But HF still sells the aluminum yardsticks and I have more drawers. The best part is the look on the cashier's face as you walk out with a dozen aluminum yardsticks after asking when they will restock.

Nice work... Is that both side finished Birch Plywood? I don't see any voids between the plys. I presume that that sanding removes any "fuzzines" from the top edge.

Thanks for the comment - it is unfinished baltic birch plywood 1/4 inch. Correct - no fuzzies because of sanding.

See below www.amazon.com/MLTOOLS-Pliers-Cutters-Organizer-Storage/dp/B00SA23E80/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479967075&sr=8-2&keywords=plier+holder

@bobjohnson8206
@bobjohnson8206 6 лет назад
I really liked the idea, the trays that are available don't seem to really work that well. One draw back you need to have deep drawers in order for this to work. For smaller wrenches this would work for larger wrenches it won't unless you have at least two inches deep in the drawers. The trays that are available only go up to 19mm or 3/4 inch wrenches, they do not allow for the larger wrenches, maybe someday they will, but then you need deeper drawers.
