Why man? They tour like crazy! If you are physically able to go, you should do whatever it takes to see them. I've been seeing them for... Holy shit... 30 years... and I swear every time is better than the last. It's so much more than them just playing live, which is awesome by itself, but the show w the huge mind blowing screens and lasers, etc. I could go on... just do it man. You will not regret it.
@Gerardo Villalobos Bro you've never seen them yet? First time? If so I can honestly say you cannot POSSOBLY be disappointed. Every one is better than the last!
@Dead Memes I gotta hit one soon. Its been a couple years. So incredible. How lucky we are to live in the time that Tool is happening. Like, how most of us missed the "60's" (and 70's). Jealous of our parents. We can tell our kids, "Sure I saw em play! YES they WERE incredible!" Project our frustration with our parents on our kids. Lol.
Seen them in Houston on 2/4 for the first time in my 29 years of listening to this masterpiece of a band. Arguably the best concert we’ve ever been to!!
I've seen them a few times but the one that stands out was seeing their first show after 9/11, in D.C. Maynard gave some similar speeches later in the tour but that night was special. Choose love. Take something good home tonight. I may be misremembering but think that was also the night they premiered the Parabola video.
Imagine being able to jam with dudes like this whenever you feel like. Especially with a drummer like Danny Carey. Plus, he can lift the heavy ass amps and stuff. Dude’s the total package.
This is a great reminder and example for Everyone!! Even the greatest of their craft need to take the time to hone and perfect their craft (no matter what that may be), there's always room for improvement. I'm speaking to myself specifically..
I was that guy that got between 3am and 4am to ticketmaster to score tickets for these guys back in late 90's early 2000's, and Danny Carey has been a drumming inspiration always, but as I grew old there are just things that you start realizing, and hope someone could explain because they bug me now: 1) Can they play in another key other than D minor? & 2) Why are their concert tickets so fucking expensive now? I am sorry but that's BS! .....realized late that they're another Hot Topic Metal Band! ...I guess the only lyrics that make sense now are from "Hooker with a Penis". Loved the No FX no Crap BackUp Gear Tho!
I don't have to, That actually happened to me. Except it was Paul on bass and MJK was there. So I guess it's not the same thing at all. LOL But I feel super lucky to have seen them WAY back. I'm fuckin OGT man!!!
He goes into a Fibonacci trance state, where all language is personified as bejeweled, dribbling, basketball- like beings, that prompt him to SING ! When he gets back, he writes it all down. Simp pool.
fabulous ones -i remember watching them live back in 1993in Belgium Festivals /Concerts halls - i thought the same thing back than - nearly 30 years ago .🤠
Thank you, Maynard, Justin, Adam, and Danny, for everything you do. I can not put into words how your music has positively influenced my life. The journey I experience is out of this world. I have listened to each song on every album countless times, and I still hear different song variations that I don’t remember hearing in the past. I can’t wait until Jan 13th. This will be my son's first concert.
That's beautiful that you're taking your son. He's going to have the most amazing time. Bring tissues 'cause tears of joy will be shed. I've cried every time since 2001. So happy they're back.
At 1:35 in Justin improvises a little, and afterwards him and Adam grin ear to ear. They still love to play together after all these years. Awesome to see.
I think this is the most in tune with each other band ive ever seen ever. This is like Dream Theater level talent with a less sophisticated heavier form (in my opinion) I mean Danny Justin and Adam have amazing music just pouring out of them. This was definitely one of those stars and planets aligning types of bands because theres no way TOOL happened by chance. Absolutely beautifully brilliant.
If there was one thing musically I wish was available would be if there were recordings of them in the studio for all their albums. Tool if there are plase release one day!
Awe man! I love that technology is allowing this band to embrace “Rock Stardom” in a way that we’ve never seen from them before. I feel like 10 years ago we would never have had the privilege to experience something like this with them.
I agree 100%. When I first started listening to them the internet was still AOL and Compuserve. So there were no pics. No lyrics. Nothing. And that made the mystique so much more. As a young kid that sucked. So now, 25 years later, I still feel like I'm cheating somehow by being able to see them at this level. Crazy how music does that to you
I've only just started to realise what I've been missing out on. I'm 50 and have been into heavier music most of my life but for some reason steered clear of Tool. Just recently started listening. It's pretty awesome
You truly can't have TOOL without any of them. I love Justin the most because I'm a bass head but I truly can't imagine this band with one member replaced.
@@PickupsAreNotTrucksyep, hate their guts. That's why I play bass, so I can get very good and beat them at their own game. It's all part of the plan 😈😈😈
@@TrevyTrev-andTheFunkyPets they’ve always said they want and need their live shows to be experienced live in person. Which I agree with much like Comedy specials in person is way better then recorded.
I've always thought that the 2 bands existed on the same plane of incredible original creativity. Two of my all time favorites...........and RUSH of course lol.
As an aspiring drummer, I would like to say that I add as much "Danny" as I can in my music as well as other influences in my life! Thank you guys for this!🤘🖖👍
It just highlights how awesome these guys are as a band. The many hours of rehearsal, composing, practise and touring - it shows and we, the fans, are better off for it. So to the band…. A huge thank you🙏
A buddy of mine and I were at the Tacoma show last night. It was just awesome. I still dont know how 3 guys fill the space with so much incredible music....
HELL YEAH!!! They sound even better live!!! Counting the days down for the Vegas concert!!! Seeing them live has been a goal of mine since hearing Sober for the first time!!! 👌
The only one that doesn't sound better is Maynard, but he's getting older and singing is a lot harder than people think. He still sounds pretty good though.
After leaving this comment last night, I decided that the 5-6 hour drive to Louisville, KY was worth it and bought 2 tickets. This will be my 6th show and each one is better than the last!
I'm going to Europe to see them in Amsterdam and Berlin, (along with Karnivool in Cologne!). I can't be happier to see that they're going to play The Patient.
WOW!! This is the closest to a streaming concert as we will ever likely get. Sans Maynard The Patient gives me Pneuma feels/vibes.. This is so awesome!
It gives you those vibes because they take so long to write music that even tunes released in 2019 have been being worked since at least the 10k days sessions, and in the case of the main riff on “Tempest” since freaking UNDERTOW. They are my favorite band and always will be, but it’s hard to deny at this point that their songs are not a variation on a single riff.
How music videos should be done of your favorite songs fuck ups and all… 🤘🏽😎 I love how Danny keeps it down and the timing up. Sign of a great drummer. How you get tight!👍🏼
Me and my friend were walking around Matthew knight arena in Eugene and heard them playing 7empest, the grudge and the patient. They were rehearsing the songs and testing equipment
I’ve seen them 4 times live in concert and can’t wait for the 5th one next month. These guys are truly perfectionist at their craft. We are truly lucky to be alive during our existence together
It’s always a pleasure for me to watch anything this band puts out. Since overall they are pretty much on the antisocial side of things, which in my opinion makes them even more awesome. This is easily my favorite band of all time. They are definitely like none other. 🤘🏼
January 21st in Phoenix can’t come soon enough!!!! Simply amazing musicians! Even without Maynard singing and no FX. They are better than ANY band or performer today by a long shot!!!
I’ll be there as well!! I actually got to witness this trio do a rehearsal as part of a VIP experience when tool performed at the Tempe Monster Mash festival it was amazing the fans were singing along since Maynard wasn’t there.
