i just stumbled upon your videos and have been watching all of them. Seriously awesome audio and video. Your videos are almost as if I"m watching and hearing it live. great job man!
I'd love to hear their in-ear-monitors. New to tool as I am, I read that they like 33/16 time signatures and other unreal time sigs. But as a failed musician, I'm skeptical. Time is counted in small increments. In 2's to 9's (3-9 being most common) . Above 9's, reality breaks back down to integers below 10. For example, I've written music that is 11/4, 9/4, 7/4, and 5/4 (off putting), but when creating the score it's easier for musiicans to read and play in 4/4 + 3/4, or 4/4+ 5/4 (9/4), or 4/4 + 3/4 (11/4). Patterns repeat, or not, but reading is easier than shifting gears to /13 /16. Teach me.
A lot of this song is either 3, 4, 5, a combination of 3 and 5, or 11 (3 3s and a 2) wether you insist on adding to when instruments sync is up to your level of sanctimoniosity. You seem to be interested in perspective instead of appearing smart, and i think youre right, really. I would imagine musicians would count 13 as say 9 and 4 (Intolerance's intro), or 21 as three 5s and a 6 (The Grudge's scream).
