Ron, I sold my three 12' smaller trailers that were inefficient. I purchased a new 16'x7'x7' trailer and your plans to organize. I am 98% complete, just finishing stocking it and labeling. Working great so far, myself and my two guys are loving the new mobile tool box. Cheers thanks
I've been watching for over a year now, and i always learn something. I've built my version of the 3'x6' table, and it immediately changed my work habits. I think, more than anything, building that table and using it, really implanted in me Ron's philosophy which fits so well with my own. I know now, that i will be buying a trailer in 2018, and doing my own version of the Awesome Rolling Tool Stop. I can't thank you enough Ron for your inspiration and insight. My electrician buddy is even watching your video's now, to apply to his own company. Between us we now have three trucks and two trailers, more to come. All the best in 2018, keep these coming, and thanks again so much for sharing.
Thanks to Ron for his and many of his inspired videos I purchase a new 6x12 cargo and outfitted it to my line of Handyman/Carpentry work ...l used it on a jobsite dry run yesterday ...it was an absolute the best choice I could have made ...Thanks Ron & views inspired by Ron this started a new chapter in my work line!!!
Hey Ron, Thanks for sharing all your advice and tips with us. I started a deck and fence business and I'm using many of your work flow tips and ideas in it. I purchased a box truck and have incorporated your earlier design (thanks for making this free on SketchUp) in it. A customer today was impressed with the set-up and I always give you the credit. Thanks again and please keep sharing your wisdom.
Hey Ron. Well, they say imitation is the highest form of flattery. I got the pickup six weeks ago and picked up the 7x14 trailer yesterday. Getting rid of the box truck I've had for years and trying this system out. Looking forward to cutting lots and lots of plywood for the build out.
Love the videos. Just purchased an aluminum 21ft trailer and plan to use your plans to build the workbench, total station and also modifying and using parts from the trailer plans. Cant wait to have everything in one place and mobile.
hi Paul. loving you videos . subscribed to your RU-vid videos a while ago. being a carpenter and joiner for 30 yrs in Boston. Lincolnshire. uk. I am going to incorporate a lot of your awesome rolling toolbox ideas in back of my 3.5 ton vauxhall panel van. as I am never happy with what I build .inside my van.plus tools change and the quantity .bit of a tool aholic 😁😁. keep up the awesome job you do. thanks jason.
Love this series Ron. Any chance of you doing a video on the jigs you pack around with you? I appreciate you sharing what you have discovered to make things more efficient, many thanks!
No matter how many videos I make on the trailer, it is still the subject of 100s of emails every week asking for more details. The videos are by request. I would like to never make another trailer video, but I just don't have the time to answer the emails directly.
Hey Ron, thanks for the inspiration. Making the dado/grooves for the tool bin cubies. My grooves keep moving a 32 seconds which than grows across 4' or more footage. I've made the groove jig three times. Do you have any ideas of how I can correct this error"
Hi Ron, Watched all your videos numerous times and enjoy them, and learn from them. Also purchased all your plans and have built everything except one so far. My question is this. I am purchasing the 14' V nose trailer from Mission just like yours. Would love to purchase the schematics/build sheets from you. I know you have them on Sketch Up, but I have tried numerous times to download the drawings with attached dimensions. Could you put that also on your website for purchase? Even if someone has a different size trailer, they still could make use of your plans, and save them hours of planning/trial and error. I know it's a lot of work for you, but since you might have the dimensions listed somewhere already, it maybe something you could do for us non-computer savvy people and add to your list of terrific plans for sale. Thanks for listening and your consideration.
Hi Rockin Ron! Your videos are inspirational. Any chance you could take your truck to the weigh station and see how much it weighs. I'm Thinking of doing something similar and I don't want to buy a 3/4 ton truck just to haul it. I'm sure that I'm not the only one wondering.
I enjoyed watching you design and build the trailer - great to see an update on it's evolution! I suppose with it being stored inside that shop, moisture hasn't been much of a problem inside the trailer?
Very nice setup, but 100 ft. 10/3 cord to power a compressor, chargers, lights and what ever else,do you ever find the surge of the compressor kicking on enough to trip most GFI outlets?
Ron, for the drawers, mainly asking about the heavy one on the bottom left of your trailer... what size plywood and method are you using? 3/4 ply and just glue? What kind of glue do you recommend for an application like that? Impressive set up. If I had a project or the money to build I house to my linking, you will be the only choice in my book. sub'd and shared!
I go as close to the breaker panel as possible. The only problem I have is with the compressor on cold days, but I have always had problems with direct drive compressors on cold days even when they are plugged in directly.
Hi Ron, I love the drawer design; it inspired me to make a similar design for my workbench drawers. Shat's your thoughts or have you any experience with UHMW Polyethylene tape? I have a dozen drawers with the same dado sliders you used in your drawers. Some of my heavy drawers don't slide as smoothly as I'd like. A quick Google turned up findtape.com. JVCC brand 1/2" rolls. They have a variety of thicknesses from 3 mil to 20mil, I'm not familiar with using it and have no idea what thickness becomes overkill. I may pickup a roll of 3, 10 and 20 mil. I'll try the 3 first and I'll have the thicker if I need it.
Thanks, my next project is building out my 20' trailer as a portable shop. It's rated at 10400# and I've hauled a car on the trailer with my truck and the truck did fine, but was a little unsure about loading it up with all my tools. I really didn't want to be forced to buy a new truck.
