Anvils make me happy :) Thanks for watching! Social media: / make_ncreate Email: makencreate@outlook.dk This video is copyrighted and my property and cannot be used or redistributed or published without my given permission.
i Know this isn't the place for this but.... I have an 1877 Fisher/eagle 462Lb anvil strapped to a sled that is Brand new, Or was repaired by fisher/eagle because the sled - crate it's in/on. On the side and top is Burned Eagle Anvil works . Fisher and Norris, Trenton NJ The anvil seems to be encased in wax. 462lb is the total weight anvil and sled. I have no way of knowing the weight of the anvil, I'm not removing it from the sled as it makes it easy to move around. The name to deliver to is my 2nd great Grandfather Terrence born in 1837 In Martinsville Tennessee . this was shipped to texas in 1877 then brought to California in 1909 by his son John . It's been as is since 1877 when sent from NJ to Austin . I'm surprised the wax didn't melt off in the hot summers. The million Dollar question, whats it worth?, I'll take an educated guess. I'm finally forced to tear down the old House and barn, they are both full of termites and the land is worth more than any attachment I have once the structures are gone. I don't want to move it to a storage unit as each month there makes it worth less and less. So lets call it a 400lb Fisher/Eagle from the Eagle Anvil works! any guesses .
I live in Florida, if I drive all the way out there, I give you 20 bucks, a peice of gum, some deer meat, some turkey meat, and a penny from Jamaica...do you think that will cover it
You get three new anvils and I can't even afford one! Being poor sucks. All I have is a rail road track plate. Not ideal for blacksmithing but you got to make what you have work.
@@PedalSteel-by2hx that's true, but I can't work much harder since I am already working three jobs on top of attending university, and still making time to forge. If I work any hard I will drop dead! The real problem is how expensive anvils are these days. Its ridiculous.
@@absolute_diamond1672 it is manageable when you have no social life. Instead of going out with my buds for a beer, I am eather working one of my jobs or forging.
A good tool is a guarantee of pleasant work and product quality! Very happy for you! I really like what you do with your hands from start to finish! Good luck and we are waiting for new videos!
Nice, but what was wrong with your old anvil? And what I did to level out my anvil on the block of wood and to help stop ring, I put some rubber under each end then held down with some chain and hook to adjust it, works good.
I remember starting in my job.. we had to clean these once a week with sandpaper... if you believe it or not.. at some point we just did it so it isn´t such a mess in like 4 or 6 weeks xD But i never got the idea to use machines for it ^^
I am thoroughly jealous, this is sweet, and I am curios about the large square anvil. Anyone know if this was a standard ish thing or just an experiment?
дружище,ты рыбак?просто у тебя татуха на левой руке в виде линейки,это чтобы хвастаться размером пойманной рыбы?) и по делу,хорошие наковальни,особенно прямоугольная и маленькая,купили на металлоприемке?
Even the professional blacksmith in our village only had one Anvil! Its usually quite enough unless you need a portable one for horse shoeing but there’s not as much farriery as there used to be. Oh excuse my ignorance, I’d love to know why an anvil needs to be anything other than eyeball leveled
Make N' Create, I can't wait to see them all in use. (well, I can, but i don't want to) Also, what was wrong with the old anvil? And what's the difference between them all, e.g what are they all for, specifically?
Depends on the style of anvil that your loolnig for as well, for a massive collection of anvils for sale give the website Blacksmith Paradise a look at and for newly made anvils a really good company is Holland Anvil on Facebook hope this helps you in your search
