Yeah it's kind of weird. But I think they done this before back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. When Toonami was broadcasted on weekday afternoons from 4:00 PM through 6:00 PM on Cartoon Network when it was on its infancy, they've did aired Toonami on Saturdays back in 1997-'98, until they had Toonami's Midnight Run program block in 1999. Then they've did it again with the Rising Sun in 2000, and then Super Saturdays while Toonami was running on weekday afternoons in 2001. They didn't put Toonami on Saturdays until April 17, 2004, when the program block was moved from weekday afternoons to Saturday nights on Cartoon Network permanently. Now 20 years later in 2024, with Toonami is currently on late Saturday/Sunday morning at 12:00 AM through 3:30 AM on Adult Swim, and then the recently Toonami Rewind program block on Friday weekday afternoons at 5:00 PM through 7:00 PM. They're doing two Toonami blocks again every week.
I went to my parents house who still have cable, just to watch this. I had to remind myself how to use a cable tv remote. The first bumper and Sailor Moon on Toonami really took me back.
Easily one of my favorite things about Rewind is that they bring in older tracks for the Bumpers. There's just something about hearing some the older tunes they used throughout the years for the block. Absolutely love it! Welcome back! Glad to see you're still doing this.
@0xm, @jupiterjav9809 Calm down, guys. Slayer9568 was basically just saying they wish that Adult Swim Toonami Rewind could air the original version (Japanese dub) of Sailor Moon, even though Adult Swim Toonami usually airs the English dub version of Japanese anime shows.
@@samariiowens7621 Thank you for defending me i know i am in the minority of Toonami fans who prefers watching anime in it's original Japanese audio i just get so much more enjoyment listening to the Japanese voices and i love Toonami the bumps the speeches the game reviews it all adds up to create a unique experience that streaming doesn't have and i do respect English Dubs i respect if they get made i respect if others watch & enjoy them and if someone said they're favorite Dub was Pokemon i would respect their opinions i personally can't stand watching the Dubs of Pokemon
About that Sailor Moon's VIZ dub 2015 the DIC dub original came out in 1995 but didn't really air on Toonami WITH DBZ until 1998 and Naruto 2002 for its toonami dub.
Growing up in the 2000s. Migizu was my after school vibe on Cartoon Network, with shows like Totally Spies, Code Lyoko, TMNT, & Pokemon. Meaning I only grew up when Toonami would aired from 7-11 before its last broadcast in 2008. 4 years later it was revived on Adult Swim, which was sweet. Now they are going back to how it was, in the late 90s.
I don't remember Toonami in the 90's and early 2000's but this serene and unique that I explored this network. 90년대와 2000년대 초반의 투나미는 기억나지 않지만, 이 조용하고 독특한 네트워크를 탐색했습니다.
I love Toonami Rewind and toonami every Friday afternoon at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm every Saturday night at midnight to 3::30 am only on toonami adult swim HD every week yes
use to be running home after school not to miss anything now it’s can i get home from work early enough in this bumper to bumper traffic to relive my childhood
@blazingsoulhunter2862 While Toonami Rewind will likely get more series as it progresses, but I just don’t see something like original Dirty Pair on it since it wasn’t part of Toonami’s past. Something like Gundam, Batman, Tenchi Muyo, etc. are more likely.
Unironically upset they didn't use TOM 3. They said they were using anniversary HD assets, so I assumed TOM 2. Weird how this was all put together but still a great block.
@ENNEN420 Well I believe TOM 2 is dead and that is how TOM 3 came to be. But TOM 3 they never really explained what happened to him since TOM 5 just sort of popped up much like TOM 4 did.
@exposingfreaks5733 Original Japanese openings except for of course DBZ Kai which has that English Dub Opening and Closing. But of course the songs are shortened for time constraints.
They need to put on Dragon Ball Z and not Dragon Ball Z Kai. The Toonami english dub from back in the day had much better background music than Kai ever did.
I believe they can't they lost the normal DBZ Dub rights years ago but the main reason they chose Kai is because the normal Toonami that airs on Sunday mornings started to reair DBZ Kai from Episode 1 about 2 months ago THIS year.
@motatheautist2225 The U.S. Toonami on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim is airing Sailor Moon, DBZ Kai and the original Naruto series Uncut. This is basically like a throwback to shows that aired in Toonami’s golden years. But Sailor Moon in particular is the most interesting of them all since the original English Dub of Sailor Moon was very different. But now they’re showing the Uncut Re-Dub.
They should have used old bumpers and stuff. They also should have used the right dubs. Also, Naruto was never even shown on weekday Toonami. Thundercats and Real Adventures of Jonny Quest are right there.
@@neovoltron25 I was naming shows CN wouldn't have to pay for that were also big hits on Toonami. Voltron, Super Friends, and Robotech were also a part of early Toonami.
this is amazing but its not really a rewind the og toonami with tom 1 never aired dragon ball z kai or the viz media sailor moon and Naruto wasn't part of that line up but still cool i guess
Cartoon Network is doing a disservice to this programming block! Toonami should be aired daily, not once a week. It'll take years to get through some of those anime's.
