I feel like, since Alpha ended with an election too, that Beta will end with the Toon Species Election. Though it seems unlikely, I have a feeling TTR has something big planned.
Watching this over 7 years after being there gets me emotional since I didn't fully realize this would be the last run and I would go on not to see most of the people I got to know over the course of several months in alpha once in beta. Jackpie was like my boi, he looked just like my toon and hasn't been online in over 5 years! But I'm glad you (Hawkheart) and I got to cross paths at ReplayFX a few years later and talk about the early days, it's surreal how far Toontown has got me even in the real world. I didn't really want to admit to anyone in alpha that I barely played Toontown growing up, I thought I completely missed the wave when I got my first membership in 2012 and thought that I was undeserving of being one of the very first alpha testers. But it's given me an entire childhood's worth of playing through my teen years, documenting it through RU-vid, having the opportunity to go to conventions, and even briefly getting to be a part of the team! Thank you for doing a wonderful job of capturing this memory, I'll never forget when I came up from dinner to see Slappy go sad when the election was first on the RU-vid live stream (since the servers kept crashing) and being in pure shock at 13. It's been a wonderful journey and I'm happy that all these years later there's still much to be Rewritten.
Y'know, if you stop to think of it, it sounds like the communist slogan "Proletarians of the world, unite!". Heheh, I'm not sure if others noticed! But yes, let's unite!
This could have been an event everyone could enjoy... sadly it wasn't. I don't know who ended up making that kind of decision but they definitely could have made this better. It all seems too insignificant and surreal to the point like this time stamp in TTR history never even happened because it was limited so only a sliver of the community. TTR was not made by just the staff and alpha testers, but the community as a whole. Everyone took part of the election. Everyone deserves to be apart of this moment.
Obviously, Flippy is in cahoots with the Cogs. He plotted with them to establish their headquarters all around Toontown and take out Slappy so that he would be named president. It's a futile battle for toons unless Flippy is deposed.
I was unfortunately not in this person's recording, but I did participate in this great battle. I remember typing rapidly "For the motherland" multiple times, haha!
They should create a dedicated activity for this. Replacing Cog Thief with a much shorter version of this gameplay is simply upsetting and not enough. You could create a competitive game out of this. Think of this: you and your Toon friends are in the fight of your lives, warding off Cogs from getting near the neighborhoods, in a Cog wasteland filled with wreckage, Cog infrastructure and Goons. You're armed with an arsenal of Gags, such as Sound, Squirt and Drop gags. The Cogs also have their infamous attacks, attempting to aim at you. Stopping to restock your Gags at a nearby cart of Cream Pies, you nearly miss an Eviction Notice. You notice that one of your friends is running low on Laff Points thanks to the HUD, so you run to them and throw a pie slice. Many others are joining the ongoing battle, and all of a sudden the air is filled with explosions as loose gears fly. You have just finished the last wave of a Cog raid. I missed out on the election as I didn't know about TTR then, so I really want such an activity implemented, as it would make Toontown Rewritten much more engaging.
Well, props for scripting the whole scene! However, I think you should have found a method of implementing this sometime in the semi-open beta, to allow more toons to enjoy the event.
@@sjr1735 Sorry, for a three year late reply, but I think they could. It would just have to be split between three districts. If we can survive bean fests then we could manage another event.
Good luck! I am watching this AFTER this video was posted, actually, now, at the point I am watching, TTR is in BETA stage at my point of life so I am a TTR beta tester. Btw, I have my sellbot suit as my main toon, Silly Duke ^ ^
All I have to say is WOW! I wish I were there I've read about "Doomsday" but now I can see it! Awesomeness!!!!! Congrats Alpha Testers. I guess I'm a Beta and I'm happy and I LOVE TTR THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING THE TOWN
I wonder what happened to all the party hats in the playgrounds. In ods they don't even exist! I miss the option to host a party and how on earth is that toon fighting with cake?
Sorry about that, there was no BBHQ then so there was no CEO so at 22:16, the CJ, the VP, and the CFO send the second to last and hardest cogs. Btw, I have absouletly NO IDEA WHERE THE BOSSBOTS CAME FROM! Can someone tell me please?
