WhiskyPapa: I do think they found some drugs in her system and everyone did think she had stayed clean. But even if not, yes I think it I’d considered drug related because of the past abuse even if she wasn’t high at the time. In any case very sad, and the tribute they did for her at the next years Star Wars conversation was really amazing.

442hoeky That's the greedy world we live in... People think getting money off one's recklessness, is more important than punishing those who commit crimes, in ways that can actually prevent chances of them from doing it again. But the point is, these people went so far downhill, to the point where some of these people are lucky to still be alive. This video also shows how some of these people went from big disappointments, yet turned their lives upside down, when quitting drugs. Drugs may seem to relieve people's problems for the time being, but it's not worth temporarily easing a pain, if it will cause more damage to the people using it down the line. Some take drugs out of depression, but there are better ways to motivate yourself, than to kill all your nerves and senses with substance abuse. It doesn't matter if you're a celebrity with money, an average person, or a poor person, taking drugs is no way to try and make your life better.

It´s strange how so many people in general claim that cannabis / marihuana is NOT an entry "drug" to the harder drugs like cocaine, heroin or meth, considering how many of the "famous" people, actors, musicians etc. who have had severe drug problems - also with harder drugs - almost unanimously say that they started out with marihuana.

Wasn't Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda during drugs during and after the making of Easy Rider? They had a shortage of films in the 70s and early 80s, probably due to drugs. I think Dennis Hoppers main 70s appearance was as a war photo journalist in Apocalypse Now

Yeah Robert in the early '90s went so off the wagon he even had periods as a homeless crackhead. On his own recallings he would binge on coke and heroin for 3-4 days to the point that he lost contact with himself and just wandered out of his house to remain in the streets just doing drugs even for weeks. He said this happened several times back then.

One of the most highly respected and highest paid actors in Hollywood, if not THE highest paid actor, Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards and all kinds of other awards lining his bookshelves, 2 Oscar nominations (that I know of), a great family... he's pretty much got it all. And he's earned every bit of it.

Revonda Ball He was highly respected then too. People forget his best acting was during his drug years. Chaplin and Less than Zero is two of his best performances.

MegaMoose1989 I don't know if he was particularly respected or highly paid back then, but I do know that ALL of his best acting wasn't done during those years (Sherlock Holmes and Hank Palmer in "The Judge" as examples). I will agree though, that his performances in "Chaplin" and "Less Than Zero" were great. As I'm sure you know, his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin was how he earned his first Oscar nomination. The other one, however, was for a film he did after he got clean, "Tropic Thunder". Also, to the best of my knowledge, the Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, etc. were earned after he went through his drug problems. Judging by that, I'd say that he's much more respected now than he was then. And back then he didn't have the great family that he has now.
