When I was a kid, margarine was sold as the "HEALTHY" alternative to butter. Turns out it was pure trans fat which they now say is the worst stuff you can eat. It also gets me how "healthy" now means you battle against fat and sugar, which are natural, while consuming buckets of seed oils that have to be processed in a chemical factory to make them edible.

A lot of the bans are to protect European markets and not for safety. Europeans have long banned perfectly safe food to protect their own farmers. One reason the Irish potato famine happened because their British overlords banned cheaper American grain

As they say, the dose makes the poison. I see these kinds of bans as overreactions. It's like the people who freak out about fluoride in tap water. You can drink gallons of tap water a day and still be FAR from a harmful dose of fluoride, and we've been fluoridating our water long enough that we've proven it's safe and that there are skeletal and dental health benefits from it, but people still freak out about it. Granted, depending on where you live there may be other reasons not to drink the tap water (Flint, Michigan comes to mind) but that's beside the point.

I work with the FDA. More foods and additives are banned in the US than the rest of the world combined. Also, many foods are banned in the EU for trade reasons that have little to do with the food content. The US produces a tremendous overstock of many basic foods (that also get turned into other food stuffs as additives, etc) that if they were allowed to be sent to Europe, it would decimate their local agricultural and its associated logistical economy. I dont think many people realize that if the US was completely cut off from the world food supply, we would eat very very well and the only thing that would change slightly would be the diet.

@josephbridges7470
@josephbridges7470 Месяц назад
@@maxpowers9129 Its not allowed as its illegal to sell "fake" honey. The US has a massive tariff in place for honey from China and actively has to heavily monitor imports from South America because China mixes it with corn syrup, ships it there, and has it repackaged to avoid the tariff. The watering down of the honey with cheap syrup makes up their costs when it gets caught because so much gets through. You should never buy any honey without a "made in the USA" label because of this.

Most in the US will know what Stove Top Stuffing is. It is too easy to make your own dressing. Stuffing itself is controversial. Here are some seasonal and limited-edition Pop-Tarts flavors: 1. **Pumpkin Pie** - Typically released in the fall. 2. **Gingerbread** - Available around the winter holidays. 3. **Sugar Cookie** - Also a winter holiday flavor. 4. **Red, White & Blueberry** - Often available around the Fourth of July. 5. **Merry Berry** - A festive winter flavor. 6. **Apple Crisp** - Released during the fall. 7. **Frosted Maple Bacon** - Sometimes available in the winter. These flavors are often released for a limited time and may vary by year. Stovetop Stuffing is extremely common here, yes. It's the best-selling brand of instant stuffing, which many Americans use, at least as a base, rather than making stuffing from scratch. Arby's is a big fast food chain here in America. They are mostly famous for their roast beef sandwiches which are made of very thinly sliced roast beef, with a savory sauce and veggies. Most Americans either love Arby's or Hate them. I'm one of the few who tend to fall in the middle. I enjoy an Arby's roast beef sandwich every once in a while. But not on a frequent basis. However I have found very few fast food chains that make better onion rings than Arby's onion rings. I've actually purchased a hamburger, fries and a drink from another restaurant and then drove to the closest Arby's just to get an order of their onion rings. They are fantastic. I actually have a box of stove top stuffing in my pantry someone gave me several months ago. But I will probably never eat it. Only because I grew sick of it at family gatherings during my childhood. It has a distinctive flavor that I simply grew to hate as a child and it's never gone away. It's called stuffing because in older days, stuffing was so named because people would stuff it into the hollow cavity inside a turkey to be baked. The idea was that the stuffing would cook inside the turkey and absorb the flavorful juices of the turkey as it cooked. A nice idea only all too often because sometimes the stuffing wouldn't reach the proper temperature inside the turkey, to be able to destroy the salmonella bacteria. And whole groups of people at family gatherings would end up with food poisoning because the stuffing was a very popular side dish at big family gatherings like during the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays. So eventually everyone who still wanted it as a side dish learned to make it separately and this is where the idea for this particular brand of stuffing got its name, since it was not made inside a turkey but rather separately on the stovetop.

Arby's meat is very thinly sliced, and the sandwiches don't look like they do in the commercials. For the commercials, they either carefully stack the slices one by one, folding them so as to get as much volume as possible out of them so the sandwiches look better, or they just use fake meat to achieve the same effect. There's no laws in the US that say food products have to look like the ones in advertisements. You should see some comparisons of like a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese from McDonald's compared to what you actually get at the restaurant, for example. By weight, Arby's sandwiches have about as much meat as a McDonald's burger. Arby's is good, my mom used to take me to one that was in the local mall's food court any time we went shopping there for a beef n cheddar and some seasoned curly fries. Their price has gone up since I was a kid, though, to the point where I don't really find it worth it to eat there. I really don't know how the meme about Arby's being terrible started, unless it really is just all about the price. And the azodicarbonamide ban is one of the stupidest bans. From what I've seen, places that have banned it have done so because in high concentrations, it's an industrial bleaching agent. There are plenty of things we use in cooking that are toxic in high concentrations. Hell, pretzels and bagels are both made with a solution of lye, and that's a hell of a lot more dangerous than azodicarbonamide. You don't see these same countries banning bagels and pretzels. These bans are a reaction to public panic caused by people not understanding that the dose makes the poison. BHA and BHT are the same in that respect; the only links we have between them and cancer are from some long-term high-dose studies. Even if you ate Stove Top Stuffing every day, you wouldn't get proportionally anywhere near the dose the rats in the studies were getting. Partially hydrogenated oils aren't going to do anything to you in small quantities, either. Nor have any of the dyes in Pop-Tarts been proven to be harmful beyond possible allergic reactions, but that's literally everything, might as well ban peanuts at that point. Just about everything is "potentially" linked to cancer, by the way.

You can buy heather pop tarts Amazon brand Pop tarts organic one that's good. For pretty much all the products where a specific brand or company are mentioned, they are leaders in their field. Stove top stuffing for example is THE Stuffing brand. Exceptions being Arby's is something like the number 5 or 6 Fast food brand, and Little Debby being the Number 2 snack cake brand (behind Hostess) In most cases, the "problematic" ingredient, is key to their success. And most countries that ban these things aren't trying to make things "safer" it's to keep the local food market from being drown out by American goods. The FDA has banned more products than the rest of the world combined. There's also a joke about California causing cancer, since there's warnings that only apply to California for many items.

I've been told my whole life to eat lots of whole milk, cheeses, yogurts, etc. I recently switched to oat milk, though, because there is too much phosphorus in cows' milk, it's a good source of calcium vitamin d. And my latest osteoporosis screening was better than it's been in years.

Lol. Love how you are eating a pop-tart while listening to the part of the video that mentions pop-tarts. Trader Joe's has their own brand of pop-tarts, which is likely healthier.

Trader's Joe's version are made in the same factory. All their "private label" stuff is just simply a different label. Its how places like Dollar Tree get "off brand" girl scout cookies that taste the same-its because they are just placed in a different package.

@@AC-ni4gt Trader Joe's doesn't have exclusively organic food. I don't think their pop-tarts are organic at all, just have healthier and maybe fewer ingredients.

#10, Arby's: The only thing worth eating there is their Horsey Sauce. 30 or 40 years ago they had good shakes. #9, Stove Top: Yes, it's probably the most well known and used type of stuffing/dressing sold in the US. It's great if you love salt, chemicals, salt, bad taste and salt. #8, Betty Crocker anything. It's made for people that can't be bothered to bake something that's damn near edible. #7, Ritz: Lots of chemicals to make it edible. And yes, in the US companies can produce food stuffs that contain banned ingredients if the stuff enough "Not Bribe Money" into out elected representatives pockets. #6, Pop Tarts: White bread, sugar, chemicals, high fructose corn syrup, a few more chemicals and a little more sugar. #5, Cereal, Virtually all cereal in the US the 1st ingredient is sugar or high fructose corn syrup, then white flour and chemicals. #4, Wheat Thins, See #7 above #3, Farm raised Salmon, loaded with chemicals. #2, Milk, chemicals added to increase the chances of cancer and other diseases. #1, Skittles, chemical again. But most candy in the US contains more chemicals, and sugar than the other ingredients. In the US virtually anything can be added to any food is you stuff enough "Not Bribe Money" into our elected representative pockets.

I know Stove Top Stuffing. I have several boxes and varieties in my pantry, turkey,, chicken, cornbread....it is delicious. Sure it's got salt, but I can eat the whole box. It's only like two bowls full. Not like you eat it everyday.❤

Most of these items I don't eat... not because of the problems mentioned, but I just don't eat them. I do like cereals, though. I drink either oat milk... because cows' milk upsets my stomach. From what I have read, oat milk is a very good option.

I love pop tarts. Strawberry and Chocolate are my favorite and you have to put them in a toaster and warm them up for best taste. Plus glass of milk.

I like Arby's. Stove Top stuffing is the best selling brand in the country. The brand they showed in this are not Kellogg's PopTarts, but a brand you can get at Whole Foods. I tried them once but did not care for them.

Stove top stuffing is quite popular. It's not that dangerous as the say. Easy for Europe to band products in order to sell theirs products. We could care less if you buy them or not. Pop Tarts are for kids. Adults normally do eat them. Eat things in moderation and you will be fine.

Americans on here saying, "I eat that stuff and I'm fine", I wonder why 80% of Americans now have prediabetes or diabetes? And though we used to call type 2 diabetes, Adult Onset, now it's found more and more frequently in children.
