Don't believe the badmouthing the poster gives to Golden Time, it is one hell of a great anime with a great leading character, dances, mysteries, friends' interventions, more dances, and memory loss. Another that won't let you disappointed is My Little Monster and his chickens.
No one needs a reason to say sorry when rejecting someone, as long as it is polite and respectful. No one is obligated to go out with someone just because they were confessed to. A relationship would never work out if the recipient doesn’t feel the same way. I get these instances are from fictional anime but hopefully it won’t be taken too seriously. It hurts to be rejected, but you can’t control how another person feels and what they think of you. The important thing is how both people handle the situation instead of acting out on their hurt feelings.
Im still shattered by Plastic Memories's story as i experienced a similar situation. my girl was unrecoverable sick. i never recovered from that but sure was the best 5 months of my life. i would do it all over without a doubt if i had the chance.
funny enough i sort of had a similar experience with this in real life back in school it was not a super public event but essentially i confessed when it was valentines day got rejected played it off pretty good and actually ended up becoming good friends with the guy she was dating a month or so afterwards so she had to see me alot cause i would always be talking with him in between classes and i sort of had my own little glow up moment one day i had really bad pneumonia in my lung’s and coincidentally my friend was playing a late night basketball game for our school and broke his leg so he was taken in seen once given pain medicine and was chilling and i had come in when he was being seen the first time the hospital was really busy so i was sitting there shaking uncontrollably with that sick cold shiver thing barely able to talk or anything i was miserable that night it was winter and the only open seat’s was by the door so every time the door opened i got even colder they gave me a hospital blanket didn’t help at all and at one point i was sort of passing out in the chair and they came up asking my friend if they were ready and he was like na take her back she looks miserable and he was doing alright his leg was set and the pain meds helped him so the girl i confessed to saw me in the worst state i had ever been in looking like i was going to die my friend had to wait an extra 30 minutes or so i was in the hospital bed for hours that i don’t remember cause i eventually just passed out for awhile eventually was able to eat and drink and left but by the time i left the hospital my friend and his girlfriend already left back home so none of them ever knew what happened to me and i dropped out a few day’s later from that crap school and dropped out of contact then randomly on graduation during covid i was helping my mom carry the gifts she bought for another girl that had also graduated and visiting her home i knew it was the girl i confessed to like 3 year’s ago but she didn’t know it was me right away but the recognition i saw in her eyes when she did know and cause i just disappeared and we moved as well she probably thought i died or something cause the last time either of them saw me was in that miserable state in the hospital but i never said anything to her we just dropped off the gifts and left and i never seen her after that

In the osomake one I was really hoping he'd use his acting skills to get even but the dude is incredibly naive. Hoping he ends up with anyone other than the childhood friend. The other girl was also plotting some devious things but it happened cause of a misunderstanding and in the end she didn't plan to go through with it. The second girl also had some fairly selfish motivations but she still isn't as bad as the childhood friend. On Osamake, Kuro's (Shida) rejection of Maru's confession, is a huge mistake on her part just to get back at him and She most oftenly even blaming him to being dumb to understand what are motives and feelings. I don't hate Kuro's character but I really prefer Kachi or Momosaka over Kuro.
Yes!! Kuro manipulated Maru to a fake relationship and then humiliate him when he confessed. She blew her chance while Kachi though planning to take on revenge too, realized the truth thus completely abandoning the plan and went on to pursue his love. Confessing in public is the worst. Do not pressure your object of affection to accept you by using the public to pressure them. Also, no matter how respectful or proper your confession is, you are not owed an affirmative answer. Confessing is a gamble, accept your loss/win and move forward. However, being cold to the person who rejected you is also valid. They didn’t understand your value then and they didn’t think twice when they dashed your heart to pieces. No matter how polite and valid the rejection is, it still hurts AF. That was their gamble, and if they come to regret it later well that’s their loss.

Just finished watching season 1 of "Domestic Girlfriend" after reading the entire manga (plus every extra chapter I can find). The anime is solid, but loses points because -- in trying to reach a satisfying end point in only 12 episodes -- they had to drop so much content and character development. The manga is fantastic, but let me just say that the very ending seems to piss off more people than it satisfies (including myself). Would love to know the author's reasons for ending it the way she did.
