As I look back on all the soaps I tried in 2021 I am amazed at all the great artisans we can choose from. Very grateful for all of them and wish them continued success in 2022 as we continue to grow this artisanal hobby we love. Thank You!! ❤️
I do believe you have put Shannon’s on the map Chris. Since day one you’ve been telling us not to sleep in this brand. And you certainly were right… great brand, scents , and most importantly great people that support the hobby above and beyond ! Have a marvelous day ❤️
Some good choices here! I only have a Top 7: 1. Zinagri Man 2. Esbjerg 3. MacDuffs Soaps 4. Stirling Soaps 5. House of Mammoth 6. Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements 7. Ariana & Evans
Excellent list! I really want to try Lothur next year. For me, A&E, Zingari, B&M, Mammoth were some of my favorite artisans this year. So many amazing artisans and choices. I don’t think the wet shaving sky will fall anytime soon 😄
I came up with 10 artisans whose soaps I bought and liked in 2021 and put them in alphabetical order. Five are on your list: Barrister & Mann, Murphy & McNeil, Phoenix Shaving, Shannon's, and Stirling. The other five are: Cold River Soap Works, Saponificio Varesino, Seaforth, Talbot Shaving, and Zingari Man. Hope your holidays are going great.
Great list of awesome artisans! You forgot HC&C btw 😉. My favorites are Stirling, PAA, Shannon's, Spearhead, B&M, M&M, Soap Commander, Moon, and Catie's Bubbles. I'm sure there are more out there, but these are the ones I own several scents from each. Have a good one! Steve
Great stuff! From that list I've tried shannon's and BM. I'm I'm keen to trying those other brands! I was surprised I did not see Zingari on the list... and a suggestion for you to check out: ES Rasage Traditionelle... great stuff
Great list of artisans here! I still think Soap Commander is one of my favorites. Great value, great slickness, and wonderful family to do business with. Stirling is another of my all time favorites, which you list here. Anxious to try the others on your list.
Good morning! 345, Panna Crema, Ethos, LPL, AYLM, MdC, Shannon’s, Boellis, D R Harris and A&E…no particular order. I hope (and judging by the IG posts you did) had an uneventful relaxing Christmas. God bless you…
I just got my order of Stirling in. Candy Cane soap. Triumph aftershave splash, balm, and the EDT. Great scent. Gotta be honest I was really surprised at the quality of the splash and balm. The splash had some sting from alcohol, but was actually moisturizing. 🤯. The balm is extremely moisturizing but not oily at all. 👌. Good stuff. I think Stirling is about all I’ve used this year. It’s the first artisan I’ve tried. Now I have 21 Stirling soaps 😂. I wife is so happy. 😂
Great list Chris, I was surprised not to see HC&C in your list. For me my list is biased towards local Aussie soaps and soaps that fit within my Budget level, my top Artisans, in no particular order, are: Blue Devil Shave Co; Squadron Soaps; Whispers From the Woods; Salt Lake Soaps ; Stirling Soap Co; Soap Commander; Wickham 1912; Ariana&Evans; Barrister&Mann; Master Soap Creations. I have not been exposed to a large range of Artisans though. 😎
I hadn't tried enough individual soaps from HC&C to include it yet. That said, I'm sure it will make the 2022 list:) Those are some great choices you have there.
Good list. For myself Extrò Cosmesi excellent value really good soap base and some beautiful scent. Grooming Dept loving some of there new releases in the mallard base. Plus there Preshave is a game changer. Southern Witchcrafts love all there scents perfect for when you want something dark only one I struggled with was Autumn Ash I got an extremely strong batch which caused a reaction with my breathing was like I was smoking.
So difficult to narrow it down to 10 these days. I agreed with quite a few of yours. I would have included 345, Central Texas Soaps, Hub City, and WSP.
I just bought B&M Nordost (Omnibus) and love it. Next: Stirling Sheep. Also lately, I’m trying scent free: PAA Scentless, Zingari Man Unscented. Maybe not considered an artisan, but Martin de Candre, Agrumes, is a discovery for me in 2021.
-tom and Jerry -voltron -Casper the friendly ghost -the Smurf -Scooby doo -He Man -Duck tales -popeye -Transformers -my lil pony -Pooh -the chipmunks -the care bears -last but not least…Stirling Soap Co.
That's absolutely a matter of individual preference. Some people like to pick up the splashes and some not. It's really up to you and what makes it most enjoyable.
I would say my ten would be •Stirling •Master Soap Creations •Moon Soaps •Zingari Man •PAA •Shannon’s •Noble Otter •A&E It’s hard to pick the last two, I only have one soap each from HSSC, Signature Soaps, Heritage Hill and Strike Gold Shaves but they were all incredible soaps.
PAA and Stirling are my top 2 fave companies. A lot of those others companies i have not tried. I did however order Seaforth Sea Spiced Lime the other day. I know you love it so i had to give it a go! 😁👍🏼
Great list Chris there were a few others that could be included since there are currently so many great artisans but understandably its a top 10. HC&C being one for innovation and cust service. Moon, Zingariman, Seaforth, Declaration all great but maybe not enough newer stuff in 2021.
The list is potentially endless. I hadn't use enough of Pete's individual soaps to include him yet but I'm sure this will change in 2022. Generally speaking I will only include soaps that I buy and use personally, so some will not be on the list as I don't use them myself:)
Love the list. For me, and maybe it’s because these are the artisans I follow most, PAA and A&E top my list. Sometimes I’m like…ok ok stop with the new drops but then I always revert to my thought that we need innovation to spark competition and growth amongst all! So yeah, they always are doing something and I appreciate that. Stirling is my number one favorite though
That's a great list Chris and there's a group of up and comers, just waiting in the wings! I'm really amazed by how many artisans there are, and I hope that the hobby grows enough to be able to support them all. All these different people bring their own perspectives and leads to some interesting scents and ideas on things and keeps the hobby vital and alive. The only downfall for me is that I can't afford to try out more of them and of course, even just trying some out, storing all the soap. I still have tubs of soap from when I first got into wet shaving and even through gifting, I have a lot and I'm not an avid collector. It's a great time to be around and have so many options!
List looks nice Chris!!!! Thanks for your hard work and generosity in 2021. 🪒💈✌ Artisans on my radar 2022: Crowne and Crane Lothur New artisans to the den 2021, but yet to try: A&E Pedro Fiasco Mammoth 345 Top new soap artisans to my den 2021: Spearhead (SSL) Strike gold (Old Hickory and Honest Abe) Wickham (Club cola) Zingari man Shannons (chupacabra base)
Hello my old friend.. Great 2 b back.. Been 2 Siwa oasis.. enjoyed a couple of weeks of quality time.. no calls.. no internet.. no modern life.. however, back 2 non quality time & the roughest is actually when you still haven't made that break with the Siwa life.. here in Alex heavy showers & ___ let's say the usual.. Anyways, guess my best soap for 2021 is moon soaps (I love old school but that is just me)
@@IAMCDB I really needed it & actually Siwa is internet & cell phone covered, but what is the point? 2 me if it's a haven it's got 2 b internet/phone free.. Actually there is a village there called El Gara which literally has no internet/phone coverage & I'm seriously considering it 4 my next adventure
Great list Chris. I have been enjoying 2 artisans that you don’t hear a great deal about, Sir Henry’s and Eleven. I think that both of these artisans really need to be taken off of the “overlooked” list because people are missing out on some really nice soaps. So many artisans, so little time!
