Top 10 Attitude Era Moments WWE Wants You to Forget

Wrestling fans look back at the Attitude Era with rose tinted glasses. It was when WWE was the WWF and wrestling was more fun. But the Attitude Era was packed with unacceptable moments, including some that modern WWE would rather you forget ever existed.

Damn you're right! New age outlaws, Al Snow, even Taka and Funaki got bigger pops than many today

To be fair, WWE is consistently selling out arenas as of late. I just went to a smackdown with well over 10,000 fans in attendance. It set a record for wwe in that arena. It was the loudest I've ever heard it. Attitude era is almost mythical in people's eyes. I lived through it. Mid carders did NOT get bigger pops than any of today's top guys. With the possible exception of new age outlaws.

@L_Train I lived through it too and there were definitely some mid carders that guy huge pops that would beat some pops from today. The crowd was just more engaged and louder back then come on man stop trying to downplay the attitude era

@@Unethical_Ethical_HackTips Have you been to any events recently, as in the last 6 months? They are rocking. The point is that the original commenter is exaggerating. The top guys today don't get less crowd reaction than the mid carders back then.

Nah man, Brawl for All was f'n awesome! 😬 So many of these guys genuinely buy into their own bs and start thinking they're legit tough guys... So it was amazing to see them actually put up or shut up! Honestly wish they'd do it again, with updated rules now that UFC is massive. And with so many wrestlers making the jump to dabble in that sport, it would be more suitable than ever 😬

2:50 Russo's main reason for creating the Brawl for All was just to have Bradshaw get his ass kicked. The higher ups at WWE were the ones who were more interested in pushing Steve Williams. 10:42 still not nearly as bad as the blackface Goldust he did when up against Flash Funk, during Raw in 1998

It would take years for the WWE to take head chair shots seriously Correction It would take years for the wrestling industry as a whole to take them seriously. Hell, the very week WWE banned unprotected chair shots to the head, TNA went and did them and even went as far as to say "look at us, we're hardcore!"

The thing I hate the most when they try to do “real sports” is that they get mad at the winner not being the one they wanted to win like Bart Gunn and the one I remember the most and pisses me off the most is Daniel Pewter, they told him to go out and have an actual fight with Kurt and that’s what he did, and he got punished because he was too good and almost beat Kurt

There was so much going on there were bound to be some duds, the late 90's were very experimental in general. I feel like the company could have gone full corporate and tried to remove the era from our memories, but finally defeating WCW is still their biggest bragging right that they don't want to forget.

There's only three things I want to forget about the Attitude Era. 1. Mark Henry and his character that I don't want to even type and everything that had to do with it including Mae Young. 2. Beaver Cleavage, enough said. And 3. "It's me Austin. It was me all along!" Yes, the unveiling of the Ministry of Darkness leader. Other things that sucked but are just a miss and you'll have that from time to time in wrestling.

when people say bad taste....they forget that its wrestling.... its a work. Its supposed to be entertaining or to get a reaction. its no different than a movie or a tv show. Alot of the crap in the 90's can be considered bad taste in the woke liberal era of 2024 where people are offended by anything. its sad!

9:20 U DAAAAAMN right it was hilarious. The Big Show's oversell of being dragged and thrown from the escape vehicle, which also included Show disregarding any simple, commonly understood, laws of inertia and physics was maybe top 3 funniest things ive ever seen in wrestllng, and my buddies and i still sometimes reference it. Yeah sure, in real llfe you may get the 1st case of unanimous agreement on zero criminal charges sticking if the family at the funeral took revenge in really any amount of horrible ways, on the guy who ... ya know... FRIGGIN trailer hitched and sloppily dragged away the dead family member in his FRIGGIN coffin.. But that's the beauty of wresting; you can get away with the silliest, most ridiculous, and overly cruel things that these cartoonish characters orchestrate while playing "the bad guy." Id never root for a world famous, veteran US army Sgt siding with Sadam, but in wrestling, i goddamn loved that Sgt Slaughter. Id never glorify and die laughing at a trained, experienced, strong as a bull wrestler, salpping a crossfaced chicken wing on a 5'4" 117 lb twerp like Lou Gianfrito, but holy shit, once agakn, did my buddies and i laugh and still bring it up when it lands... And it goes on... I GUESS the wwe "wants you to forget it," but 9 times outta 10, most people are just gonna dismiss it and laugh the "acting" off
