Rednose was the call sign of Norwegian Air UK Based out of London Gatwick, which had flights to US, Argentina, Brazil & Singapore flying 787. it ceased operations in January 2021. Irish part was Norwegian Air International used the call sign Nortrans flying 737-800's and 737 MAX 8's to US and Europe>
The callsign "Smart Cat" was only used by Tigerair Taiwan (the only airline in the Tigerair brand still flying), as some images used were of Tigerair Australia, their Callsign was "Tiggoz." Furthermore, the original Tigerair's callsign was "Go Cat." This callsign was used until the airline was absorbed by Scoot (Scooter). Multiple other Tigerair airlines had callsigns such as "Mandala" for Tigerair Mandala, and finally, Tigerair Philipines was known as "Sea Tiger."
I literally didn't realize that your channel only has 59 subs and that this video has only about 100 views. The production quality is great! Keep it up!
Sky Europe: relax Controller: 756 Ure too close to an aircraft, GO AROUND IMMEDIATELY!!! pilot: Relax 756, were going around Controller: ok I'm relaxed now
Citris first started with Air Florida. When they folded, ValuJet picked up the certificates and carried on the callsign. After the incident with ValuJet, the same people in the company rebranded and reshaped the airline into airTran, again maintaining the Citrus call sign. Then Luv bought up Citrus and it is no more.
You didn't mention the mysterious 'Janet' flights into and out of Groom Lake (Area 51).Also the UK's Queen's flight that call Kitty when just the flight crew on board and Kittyhawk when a member of the royal family is present.
"Springbok" for South African Airlines - now in financial trouble, and "Flamingo" for Air Namibia - now recently declared bankrupt. The "Flamingo" goes back a long way to Namibia Air, South West Airlines etc.
I liked the call sign of the self named "Ed Force One" from the Band Iron Maiden: a Boeing 747 flown by the singer Bruce Dickinson itself. Call sign was "Alpha Bravo Delta 666", often shorted as "Flight tripple 6 heavy". What better name for the airplane of a metal band could you get? ;) \m/
Here’s a few that I’ve heard while flying around my local airport: QJet: QantasLink Velocity: Virgin Australia Polair: our state’s rescue/police helicopter
Nice video! I heard a conversation (here on youtube) when a Norwegian UK approached JFK and the ATC didn't know their callsign: REDNOSE. Very funny when the ATC guy mumbles: Rudolf!
That’s just as cool as Speedbird or Rednose. I wish Air Canada had a cool callsign: maybe Maple or something. WestJet doesn’t need one, that name’s cool enough as is: flows off the tongue too
My favorite call sign is China Airlines Dynasty I know when I'm at heartsfield Jackson international airport plain spotting and I hear Dynasty over the radio I know my favorite airline is near
Fun fact : China Airlines is actually Taiwan based airline and don't have any relationship with China. Did you knew it before? Bcs of its name majority think its an Chinese Airlines, while in reality its a Taiwanese airline.
It's been a few years now since British Airways most prestigious flights on Concorde from London to New York and back again had the callsigns Speedbird 1 and Speedbird 2.Last I heard these had been relegated to a BAe 146 out of London City airport in docklands. How the mighty have fallen!
Haha yess, not very difficult right now, but give me another few months and being first in the comments is going to be a challenge! All this thanks to your help guys!
I knew the Sultan callsign but I didn't know that Abu Dhabi amiri was renamed in 2009. I always call them like this even today when they come with 747s or 777s (A6-SIL ♡)
Airtran's predecessor valu jet also had a very good callsign called critter named after the mascot but due to the crash of flight 592 the company was in a very bad situation which made merge with Airtran
@@Top10Aviation it’s because before it was called Aeromexico connect, their name was aerolitoral and they operated E-145 and I think saab 340 in the beaches of the north of Mexico like Puerto Vallarta or Sonora, that’s why their callsign is costera, because they operated flights mainly to the beaches (know as costas in Mexico)
Actually Cathay Dragon, the subsidiary of Cathay Pacific has been shut down by it’s parent airline as the devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic was too big for the airline to support it financially. And Tiger Air has also filed for bankruptcy beacuse of the downturn in travel demand... so yeah..
The cool factor of a callsign is nothing if it belongs to a sh** show "race to the bottom" type of airline. So you can forget most of the cool and exotic call sign from your list and keep maybe Speedbird and Cactus.
There is also famous Air India 747 ' Emperor Ashoka " unfortunately the 747 which served as ' Emperor Ashoka " crashed 3 km off the coast of Bombay killing all in aircraft . RIP🙏
There is one call sign that is good and it’s not in the video: CAMBO - it’s the call sign for JC AIRLINES it’s fleet is 5 planes allA321-214 and it is based in Cambodia 🇰🇭 the call sign is call - CAMBO - because the company is from Cambodia
