You're specialized in killing. You've got to have some fatality records, don't you? Look up those caused by the doctor. Go on, take a seat, look up the list" Judge, guards and basically everyone around: *proceeds to faint and run away as the list goes on and on and on
YES YES YES, I looked for compilations like this with exactly this scene in mind (and forgot which scene I meant by the time I actually watched the video, but THIS)
Family of Blood is my all time favourite two-parter. It’s just CLASSIC and ticks every single box. Tennants ability to play 2 very different characters whilst still keeping his root elements is just unreal
@@DarthAzabrush I mean the writer of the novel is literally directing the episodes. So like I guess he writes better? It doesnt change fact that it is pretty much one of the best newWho stories.
@@mjm3091 Yes but he's forced to work with what he has and what he has is a very human Doctor and a companion who forces him to change major segments of the narrative for the worst to make sense. Human Nature was brilliant when it was about the very alien Seventh Doctor disguising himself as a human with a longstanding trustworthy friend by his side as guardian (not to mention that the psychic kid was supposed to be a Celestial Intervention Agent.) What we get in the television version is a Doctor barely distinguishable from human at the best of times playing dress up and his fate thrust into the hands of a random medical intern he picked up at a hospital. Paul Cornell is a great writer, director and producer and he should have been the showrunner rather than the dim witted hack who stole his place then offered him this adaptation as an insulting consolation prize.
More badass moments: 1. "No, I want you to tell your men to run away. Those words, "run away". I want you to be famous for those words. I want people to call you "Colonel Runaway". I want children laughing outside your door because they found the home of "Colonel Runaway". And when people ask you if it's in any way a good idea to come at me THROUGH THE PEOPLE I LOVE!!!...then just tell them your name. 2. The Doctor rides a motorcycle up the side of the Shard and to force the villainess download Clara's mind back into her body, uploads the villainess into the network. 3. The Doctor regenerates taking down an entire Dalek invasion force in the process. 4. "I tried to communicate. I have to remember that. I tried to understand you but I think you understand us perfectly. I don't know if you're here to invade, to infiltrate or just replace us, I don't suppose it matters now. You are monsters! That is the role you seem determined to play, so it seems that I must play mine: the man that stops the monsters! 5. The Doctor rolls into a room full of Daleks in Davros' chair: "Admit it. You've all had this exact nightmare!" 6. The Doctor over the radio with a recon Dalek: "Release the woman you're holding prisoner." The Dalek laughs. The Doctor brings up the recon Dalek as a hologram inside the TARDIS: "Now, do that again to my face!"
You missed whole of the David Tennant moment: water of mars for exemple The fury of the time lord. He is the most badass one The doctor The zygon speech And the I made it happend of 9th Mention to when capaldi says he’s gonna destroy everything « Me » has done if she don’t save Clara
One of my favorite parts about moment 4 you've listed is the line that comes when he's about to send them back to their dimension: "Who knows? Some of you may even survive the trip"
What about "Fear me I've killed hundreds of time Lord's" "Fear me I killed them all" Or the Rings of Akhaten when the Doctor's memories are so dark it kills the parasite God.
The funny thing is, the Doctor is taking a leaf out of Rassilon's book from the Five Doctors: punish those seeking immortality by making them live forever in an 'And I Must Scream' scenario.
Not trying to be mean or anything but somehow saving his home planet and saving London (possibly the world) in one day with thirteen of him didn’t even make it onto this list
That's probably why it's so badass. He's not just punishing them with a prison, but abstract prisons. Think about it. Trapped frozen in time in a field, unable to call out for help? Trapped in (assumingly and extremely) heavy chains forged in a star? Trapped in another dimension (the mirrors)? THROWN INTO A BLACK HOLE?!
Here’s my favourite moments....all from the same episode (Forest of the Dead) - 1. “I’m the Doctor and we’re in the biggest library in the Universe. Look me up!” 2. When he suddenly realises why his future self gave River Song his sonic screwdriver. Then ‘saves’ her. 3. That moment he opens the Tardis doors with the click of his fingers for the first time. Awesome episode.
I love that moment in hell bent, there is a great sequel to that episode where rassilon teams up with the cybermen in a comic called supremacy of the cybermen. We get more 12 vs Rassilon stuff and insane cybermen takeover all across time.
1:55 Okay, I should point out that the FULL badass quote here was: "Oh, big, big mistake, really huge. Didn't anyone ever tell you there's one thing you never put in a trap, if you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there's one thing you never, ever put in a trap." ...which is even better.
On many worlds "Doctor" is their word for "Badass"... O, and little-known fact #2: after 60 years standing in his field, the scarecrow-ified member of the Family of Blood regained his ability to move, but had long since lost his mind, and began calling himself Worzel Gummidge.
I think for me the biggest badass moment would be when Capaldi's doctor goes to save Missy and he asks the executioner to look him up and see how many deaths he has to his name. And pretty much starts to count to infinity!
"Oh stop it, this is your power source and feeble as it is I can use it to blow this place sky high if I see one thing that I don't like...and that includes karaoke and mime, so take no chances. See Clara that's how you disguise yourself as a droid...your brilliant on adrenaline, and you're out of your depth sir" --Deep Breath
A badass moment from classic dr who that should’ve been mentioned is Ace fighting a Dalek with her baseball bat (in remembrance of the Daleks) Ace was always an awesome character But that moment made her a badass in my mind
"Don't challenge me Harrit Jones, because I am a new man! I can bring down your government with a single word." "You're the most remarkable man I've ever met... but I don't think you're quite capable of that." "No you're right, not a single word... just six." "I don't think so." "Six words." "Stop it." "Six." *Walks to the agent behind Harrriet and says* "Don't you think she looks tired?"
Baker and Tennant are my favorites, as well! Capaldi comes in a close second merely because of the writing. His acting is phenomenal, but the writers did not do him justice.
Modern era Matt Smith Jodie Witcher David tenant Peter Capaldi Christopher Eckleson Old era Tom Baker Peter Davidson Patrick Troughton Jon pertwee William hartnell Sylvester McCoy The war doctor Coilin Baker Paul McGann
My favorite moment that I think should be on here is : "I have a message from the doctor and a question from me . WHERE IS MY WIFE . ". "What is the doctors message ?" "Would you like me to repeat the question". : Classic
While not directly featuring the Doctor, the opening scene of "When a Good Man Goes to War" as Rory asks the Cybermen where his wife is as the Doctor destroys their listening posts is pretty classic...
"he was being kind" is one of the most disturbing moments ever in the show. But Colonel Runaway deserved at least an honorable mention, especially for the line, "good men don't need rules. Now is not the day to find out why I have so many."
What made the scarecrow even worse wasn't just the fact he was stuck being a scarecrow. It was that he was stuck being a scarecrow in a time-loop... He wouldn't even be rescued by the death of the Earth, he'd suffer in the same moment for eternity.
which one? The Daleks have been there since the first doctor, the second ever story in fact! There's genesis in 4th, many regard this as one of the best stories of all time 2nds run into them and 5th and 6th and 7th and 9th and 10th (comitted genocide - again!) and the war doctor (or 8 if you like who comitted double genicide the daleks and the time lords)
Silence in the Library. "This is the biggest library in the universe. Look me up." The Pandorica Opens. "Do the smart thing. Let somebody else try first." And probably the Doctor's best CMOBA: The Day of the Doctor: "There's still a billion billion Daleks up there attacking. Yes, but there's something those billion billion Daleks don't know. Because if they did they'd probably send for reinforcements... This time there's three of us!"
Where is Forrest Of the Dead? He stares down an enemy he doesn't know how to defeat based purely on his reputation. You could've put it at 8th instead of Medieval Entrance. Same for Pandorica. Extremis? A Good Man goes to War? Flatline? Honestly, Top 10 is a small number for The Doctor's badass moments.
I still want to see the top 10 Bad ass companions of the Doctor I know Ace will be up there probably number 1. After all who else took out a deleck with nothing but a bat, or Cybermen with a sling shot.
Olivia, did a hell of a job on that Doctor Who episode droxia she did a brilliant job no wonder she played a detective on Broadchurch with the former Tenth Doctor David Tennant brilliant absolutely brilliant I can see why she's the most brilliant actress on the planet
Yes, I know what you get when you assume (you make an ASS out of U and ME), but I assume everyone commenting here has seen either all the New Doctor Who, the Classic Doctor Who, or all the Doctor Whos. I appreciate the narratives (I really do) because they are reminders. For those of you who have complained bitterly about the narrations, you do have choices: grin and bear it, stop watching Mojo, or DO YOUR OWN and let others criticize your efforts. 58 years of Doctor Who in various presentations? I dont have that much patience or sources with we which to work. I appreciate, though, any effort, because I'm certainly not going to do my own.
You are a ally of the Doctor, you will show me Mercy! My Name is River Song, check your computer.... .... ...... ..... Mercy! Say it again. Mercy! One..... more..... Time... MERCY!!!!!!!!! I know it was not the Doctor, but still badass
Replace the guitar and tank bit with the scene he goes all bad with Time Lord Supreme in Water of Mars. sure a LOT of his speechs are fantastic but they ain't bad-ass
