For the harpoon gun, u can get unlimited ammo by using the flechette mod. U use 1 shot but u can retrieve most of the flechettes fired and each one counts as 1 full sized harpoon.
My favourite Legendary heavy weapons: Wounding Minigun - Does almost the same amount of damage as an Explosive Minigun, but ignores resistances and doesn't require you to spec into Demolition's Expert Two Shot Missile Launcher - Doubles the amount of damage for each shot, better than any of the '50% more damage against X enemies' legendary effects Big Boy - No need to state the obvious
caribou companion Since you can pick up the bowling balls that you shoot from a Fat Man with the bowling ball launcher attachment, using Big Boy as your Fat Man of choice to use this attachment with, you can basically get infinite ammo that you can shoot and get a ridiculous amount of caps selling some of your ammo as well.
A thing to note about the Harpoon Gun. If you put the flachette rounds you essentially have infinite ammo. You can no longer pick up missed harpoons, you fire 7 new projectiles per harpoon that each have a chance of being recovered. Basically you use 1 harpoon and can get 7 back.
9:30 I actually managed to get a Wounding Gatling Laser, and I find it very enjoyable to tear through 2/3 to 3/4 of an enemy's health and watch it drain the rest of the way to zero from the bleed damage. And said bleed damage is per shot, so that is also nice.
What, no love for the Broadsider? I've found it to be incredibly useful due to it's solid damage, moddability, and the fact that its low splash radius can actually work in your favor in close quarters.
@@imtoastedbagel Most weapon vendors, most notably Arturo and Proctor Teagan, sell the ammo, and once you get to the point in the Mechanist DLC where you can build eyebot pods you can send them to find cannon balls for you, usually in quantities around 30 per day. It's quite easy to build a stockpile of ammo.
I've been using the Broadsider a lot lately for testing. It's a fun gun and I like the aesthetics and damage, but I'm sorry to say the regular missile launcher pretty much universally seems like the better pick. Missiles are more numerous (though expensive), the unupgraded missile launcher weighs less than the Broadsider, and the damage is better with all perks and bobbleheads. Plus you can get a legendary variation of a missile launcher while the Broadsider is stuck in vanilla. Ammo for the Broadsider can be found with the eyebot from the Mechanist dlc which is nice, but to me the gun is just a fun novelty more than anything functional. The missile launcher can get really heavy if you put then quad barrel, bayonet, and targeting redicule on so if weight is a problem and you want the 4-shot capacity maybe I can understand an argument for the Broadsider. Also another point I don't see often is that the AOE from a Broadsider shot is quite small, only hitting multiple enemies if they're right next to one another. The missile feels larger and the animation is significantly larger, which I assume means it's got a far greater AOE. I also compare the Broadsider to the Missile Launcher because the Fat Man, while the superior option in terms of gigantic damage, is literally so powerful that you can't fire it indoors without killing yourself most of the time. Plus mini nukes can be rare and expensive. TLDR: A Missile Launcher with just the accuracy upgrade or the tracking scope is better than the Broadsider.
Would you consider doing a list of the best popular weapon mods for Fallout 4? Would love to see what you opinion is of the Service Rifle or the Watts 3000 mods. Cheers for the great content, keep up the great work.
The normal default Rocket Launcher actually saved my ass in my first playthrough. I was doing a few of the minutemen quests early on and so I got into the mission to take the castle. I already figured that it might get tough so I went there with power armour (I usually don't play with it). On my way I came across a Super Mutant with a rocket launcher (who absolutely wrecked my armours leggs) and so I got my hands on the weapon. I just about managed to beat the Mirelurk Queen on my second try (on my first try I didn't realize that she deals crazy damage over time with her acid) and I don't thin k that would have been possible without the rocket launcher. It also helped me destroy Searge later, so I really recommend you bring one with you if you are gonna try and conquer the castle.
Huh, after all this time I did not know the cryolator was a heavy weapon. I thought it was a rifle type gun considering how small it is. Side note: the instigating mini nuke is stronger than the two shot as the the second projectile only does the base damage of the gun, whereas the instigating does double full damage. Also you can find the instigating mini nuke off legendary enemies for free, whereas the only two shot mini nuke you can get without mods is from artero in diamond city for A LOT of money.
I'd say the best is Gatling Laser, it's better than the Minigun in every way, it is lighter, deals more damage, is more accurate, and the ammunition is cheaper but it can be quite expensive. Fat man is good too you should shoot it whenever if there is some tanky guys or if there is a lot of people I'd say super mutants is worth shooting the fat man but I wouldn't recommend shooting only one with fat man I'd say 6-8+ mini nuke exchange is worth it but it's very expensive especially the ammunition it needs lots of caps for 1 SHOT but it's worth it Flamer you can get it from like an ironworks or something I forgot the name I don't really know the price of it and the ammunition but it's really good Missile Launcher kinda like Fat Man but worse but still pretty good and you can use it for maybe 1+ super mutants so if you find a super mutant or 2 I'd say you shoot it
what I actually try to get is a harpoon gun with the unlimited legendary weapon that uncaps its magazine size so you can fire 300 damage shots left and right with no issue in fact it can probably be counted as one of the strongest weapons in the game due to the damage per shot and the fact that you can fire them in somewhat quick succession
I wanted one since I first used a harpoon gun but I'd rather a fatman with the limitless effect so I can effectively kill things with rapid fire bowling balls... I miss the rock it launcher.
Can you be my father because I totally think you are right literally it's one of the best weapons in the game in my personal opinion and I no fool I have a level 79 characters working with the Brotherhood of Steel and I literally bring the Gatling laser with me practically anywhere Nuka World far Harbor anywhere
Giving the synth companion Sgt Ash always makes me smile. I love the aesthetic of the missle launcher the way it draws on the US replacement for the flame thrower with the quad barrel is really cool. I want that thing to be a mod. Similar to how I want someone to make a Davy Crockett replacer for the minuteman artilery.
That is impossible, it is a unique weapon and can not be looted from a random girl in a house, I got it when I sided with the Railroad, it could be that you got a legendary gatling laser
I had an institute character that used the Final Judgement with the standard barrel for a few simple reasons. 1: the fire rate is insane. 2: I had WAY too many fusion cores, and was not a power armor character.
You actually raise the dps by changing to charging barrels because of the quirk with the legendary effect, and you gain a bunch of practical accuracy with the lower fire rate
Admiral's Friend is my go-to heavy weapon. Since you have to go to Far Harbor to get more harpoons I at first neurotically worried I'd run out, but converting it to flechette ammo means you usually get back more than you fire. The only drawback is your new super shotgun loses its utility as a sniper rifle. This weapon is so good I'd carry two if I could, one with normal harpoons as a sniper rifle and one flechette. The Broadsider is also surprisingly fun if you can keep it in ammo.
One of the extended napalm flamer carried me from lvl 5 (iron surguswork) to lvl 50. It uses flamer fuel, and bolts go long range with the same flame effect. Glowing sea was a breeze on lvl 10. Never use power armor, yet got +- 40 stacked at sanctuary by now. Same goes for x01 how is it rare? Found already 7 by the time i hit lvl 15
I'm just assuming the legendary gatling laser you mentioned later in the video is Aeternus. Don't grind out this weapon unless you're ready for disappointment, this weapon at least on PS4 is bugged to shit. First time I got it I tried it out, it fired one shot then died. I checked my inventory, over 30 fusion cores had been deleted in one shot.
How cool would it be to have a mini gun that could be upgrading to use ANY ballistic ammunition, to increase damage. Obviously it would require high-leveled perks, so you can’t get them right away. But it would make it possible to get stronger and stronger as the game goes on, however the ammunition types are harder and harder to obtain in large quantities. So there would be pros and cons to doing so, which I think all of that combined would manage to keep it balanced. You may do more damage, but you’re not gonna want to just blow through 600 bullets of .50 caliber ammo in 30 seconds… I think it would make the gun so much more viable, and versatile.
Forgot the Tesla cannon, it’s pretty solid with up to about 84 damage and it’s aoe and can crit. Found it on an enclave xo2 ate the end of the pyro questline at the fort in the glowing sea. It’s pretty versatile and has another option which pumps its damage over 100 and you can change it from an aoe to a chain between enemies
One time I got a the rapid variant of the gatling gun from a super mutant just outside warwick farm on survival mode (i forgot the name but its near Castle) on console....................................shortly after that the game crashed, i nearly losted it......... when i got my pc up and running i downloaded the save mod for survival mode
A while ago i got some mods, and kept getting crashes so i got rid of them all except for graphics mods. I recently started playing again, and none of my ammunition has any weight to it. Missiles are 0, mini nukes are 0... everything is 0. Is this leftover from my mods? This guy just said missiles have a weight of SEVEN??? Is it cuz I didnt go into my files and delete everything and vortex didnt actually clear everything out? Edit: oh nevermind. He just said survival mode gives ammo specific weight. Lol that explains it. I just play on very hard, as i find survival mode too annoying with all the restrictions on saving.
If you side with the Minutemen you can get the Final Judgment as well. You only need to be hostile to the Brotherhood, which can be achieved by many means, including attacking one of their npcs.
My question with Aeternus, does it require two fusion cores because it drains the first one, and then whenever you use it again, it just has unlimited ammo, or does it always have an initial drain on the ammo when you start to fire?
Be me play a get the righteous authority laser rifle get overdrive chem kill everything super easily for the rest of the game because you can do critical hits outside of vats which is broken to all heck in fact I try to make my way down to the cambridge police station as soon as possible when just because this weapon is so easy to abuse in the early game just one level of chemist one level of chem resistant and whatever else strikes your fancy and you'll tear through almost everything even more so if you invest into luck to get the better critical perk
I have explosive minigun and I really melt even the thougher enemies in seconds yea I have demolition perk lvl2 and also heavy gunner lvl3 but is insane haha
Hi guys a way to get the cryo very early in the game is to leave the vault go to red rocket and grab dog meat and head back to the vault and go to were the gun is situated in its case and ask dog meat to fetch and it will bring the cryo to you and there you have a heavy weapon befor even getting to concord and the minigun and no it is not patched as I started and new game two weeks ago and it worked
It’s kind of a bruh moment because before I even knew about the “Sargent Ash” I got a flamer with the kneecappers legendary effect which is exactly the same as “Sargent Ash”’s legendary effect.
