Excellent information in one unique place - here! Thanks for putting this together for many reasons, too many to go over. I am looking forward to the new decks - especially yours. Learned a ton and thanks so much for doing these great videos.
Great review, Sean! I especially like the idea of putting the Elites into a Bee box. Will definitely use that one. FWIW, the only point missing in your review is that the Phoenix cards faro like a dream right out of the box. (Greg Chapman recommends them as well in his book Faro Fundamentals.). Looking forward to your series on tricks with one-way backs and faces!
I no longer practice my favorite thing in the world 😢😢 Playing cards are too expensive here in nigeria 😢 Anyways I love your content sean Your my inspiration 🙌🙌❤️
Just today I bought my first deck of Bicycle rider backs, standard version. I had thought I had pretty good playing cards, they were appropriately sized, looked classic, slick and not catching on each other. I thought playing cards wouldn't have much difference between them other than maybe the cheap souvenir decks or those super elastic and slippery plastic ones. Boy was I wrong. For less than 5 euros I had a deck that was nothing like what I had ever held in my hands. I couln't believe how different a still cheap deck of cards can feel like. To begin with they felt unnatural in how they behaved. How could cards have this feel that they're hovering on top of each other, moving effortlessly like on good bearings, but not be slippery and just fly everywhere. The air cushion tech truly does things. The deck would almost voluntarily, by itself, go into fans and spreads without me acquiring any new skill. In less than a second I knew exactly why all the magicians and professional card games would use something like that. I also got a Tally-Ho fan back, beacuse it was really difficult to find a decorative but still classic and nice, geometric, almost mandala like, design on any Bicycle backs. Without going overboard and looking too luxurious and fancy. Just humble geometrical decorative design that's not too busy. Or occult geometrical symbols could've been another design if I found one. It's like the card makers don't quite know what'd be the number one product after the classic. The only possible negative to my Tally-Ho deck is that they don't have air cushion, but I haven't tried to know if that's something I'd have a problem with.
@@SeanDevine and today I also learned that linoid is just another brand's term for air cushion :'D so apparently not losing anything with Tally-Ho that says linoid finish over bicycle that says air-cushion.
The best deck (as far as ease of manipulation) must be the ones by Ellusionist, made after 2019 by Cartamundi on E7 stock (Cohort is one of them). The bicycle Elites come close to the E7 stock.
I’m just fooling around with magic tricks with cards. I’ve never done this before but I am a homebound person currently and this was something fun to do. I enjoy your tricks very much and have watched them with a great deal of delight. I’ve never done anything with cards before other than to play games mostly poker and of course solitaire. Formerly I was an expert riffle shuffler but I can’t seem to be able to do it now. I get the cards blended but not evenly in the first step but when I go to have them drop they do not drop equally with that sound and air that’s so pleasant. I feel like it’s the cards. I only use the basic standard BICYCLE brand but they don’t seem to be soft enough or supple or flexible enough to bend and then flow downward. Can you recommend a nice flexible deck that I could buy? Could you recommend something that I could do to improve my riffle? Thanks and keep up the good work.
My current 3 fav decks are: 1: Night Flight these have more features than any deck 2: Black Roses 3: Penguin Marked Deck Sean, please do vids on one way faces and backs. Also, please do a vid on the moving rose gaff in that deck of black roses. Have a great day!
