The summer edition just came out so that couldn't make this video but that video will be out this weekend! The protos, discolors, or 4/5 leaves vary in ways that don't matter significantly enough to add. The only one that matters that isn't on here is the EMP ones. Too expensive... 🙃
I’ve stumbled across your channel randomly today and I have to say I am very very interested now in playing cards. What would you recommend be a good deck for a beginner and keep up the content I am thoroughly enjoying it ❤ Edit: the joker bike is called a Penny Farthing btw
Thank you! The Monarchs are great for beginners. I'd recommend the Bicycle Rider Backs. If you just recently started appreciating the quality of good cards, opening a new deck with the new understanding is amazing. But for both looks and quality,, I'd go Artisans and Monarchs by Theory11, Cohorts by Ellusionist, and Noc Pros by NOC. You won't regret any of those! And thank you for the knowledge on the bike name, I didn't know that!
Really enjoying your videos, I am a newer card collector myself and have about 100 different decks now. Definitely need to get some monarchs, those gold ones are 🔥🔥 and I agree I really like the purple and red. Also while I mostly buy online, the Barnes and noble by me had a pretty big selection (hard to find anywhere with large selections) and I got the navigators (love that deck and saw your review), contraband, and union for like $10 a piece and no shipping since in person. I recommend book stores to anyone looking for more of selection than Walgreens or cvs. Unfortunately where I live, no dedicated playing card stores 😅
There are 2 additional variants of the Monarchs that are rarely seen. 11 Madison Avenue Monarchs that were made exclusively for the 3 Michelin Star restaurant in New York. These Monarchs have fully custom faces. There are also the FIRST Monarchs. These were the first proof of concept Monarchs before the V1s. They were dark navy blue with bright gold lining. Theory 11 hated them and after selling about 150 of the test decks they destroyed the rest and made the standard blues of today. I had a chance to buy the prototypes when they were reselling for 50 bucks but at that time only the blue monarchs existed I had no idea how popular the line would become. You never see them now.
I am aware of both. I even mentioned the 11 Madison Park ones at the end of the video and why i didn't include them. I also personally don't consider prototypes as Variants. Like in the knife community, it's seen the same way. Or else I'd have to include all versions of the blue Monarchs and white/gold monarchs, etc. But I did neglect to mention it though 😅 also, I wish I could get one for 50 bucks, what a steal! I'm jealous you were collecting around that time...
They are similar in quality to most theory11 Decks. I honestly don't know if I've felt a different deck that feels noticeably different by them. So I'd say the same. I think the Monarchs are thicker though. They pretty Thicc
