Those stabilized mechanized mortars are fucking awesome. They perfectly suit the Finnish guerilla tactics, enabling the artillery to support any ground attack while constantly relocating, using variable propulsion and trajectory calculations together with communication tools to launch organized salvos with pinpoint precision, even when all of the artillery vehicles are located in different locations constantly remaining mobile. This makes it nearly impossible to locate and mount a counter attack against the artillery position, as there is no artillery position to attack. Trying to penetrate Finnish territory would be tricky, as there would be countless well hidden positions of infantry hiding deep in the endless thick forests, constantly scouting and reporting enemy movements to setup nonstop ambush attacks with the most suited weaponry. Any branch of the artillery available and hiding around the area can be called to support/start the assault, the infantry carries plenty of antitank RPGs to demolish armored targets. Anti-tank mines are also a favorite of the Finnish military, to stop and hinder any armored assault trying to push into the country. Finnish forces also use leopard tanks to reinforce defenses. Finnish scouts/recon units are also very well trained in infiltration, able to survive on their own for weeks in the harsh nature of Finland, capable of sabotaging enemy supply lines undetected. If you decide to send an assault force into Finnish soil, don't even think they won't be monitored, tracked, and attacked constantly. They won't meet any frontline, trench, or stationary bunker fortifications to overwhelm. The million men and women defending their land will be dug in everywhere around you, the roads and chokepoints of crossable terrain will be minefields. It will be just like Vietnam was for the USA. You're going to bleed for every inch of ground you "gain", and that ground will still remain ultimately Finnish ground where you won't be welcome.

that is not a sisu a2045 in the video, that one is sisu e11t. a2045 is a 2 axle truck that is basically a man tgl.

How much i fired this mortar in 1984-85 when i was in army. Before christmas 1984 we where 1 month in the woods. first 2 weeks in southern Finland and then we had 2 days holiday. Then we traveled by cattle train to Lappland, northern Finland. It took 24 hours because our train had to stop for civilian train now and then. There we where 2 weeks in Lappland and it was the whole 2 weeks -20 - -30 Celsius cold. We lived the whole 2 weeks in a so called " guerilla-tent " that fitted about 8 person. We got food when we got. Not so regularly anyway. We had to move the camp and the mortar nearly every day, even at the night, so we slept abot 3-5 hours/night. And it was cold. And when we moved and changed the camp we had to of course shovel the snow away for the tent. In 3 feet deep snow. We where there from all garrisons in Finland, about 1500 men. I was the aimer in my mortar group. My group made all time rekord putting up the mortar ready to fire. We had to wayt 2 hours for others to finnish. I remember i was proud. Now i couldn´t care less. I served my army time in Nyland Brigade as a jaeger. Friends was the best. Army sucked.

These mortars at the very beginning are also the same ones which have been the cause of death to conscripts several times, and have been temporarily out of service during the incidents' investigation. An effective weapons system for sure, but also effective at taking out its own crew when there's just a tiny lapse in concentration and if the squad leader misses the mistake.

Actually AMOS and NEMO are from sweden, made by Hagglunds. After company integrated with Patria, they also started production in Finland and was put on top of the AMV.
