+Witch of Mind (Karkalicious769) I just really dont think it fits in with the episode "The Tip of Zoidberg" Where everyone wants Zoidberg fired/dead, and the professor keeps him alive for the "agreements" It is funny, but I think they should have accounted for it when creating "The Tip of Zoidberg"
Nika Kukavadze Honestly I'm a bit bias. I've seen every episode from the original broadcast like ten times over. lol The newer ones I've obviously not watched as many times. =P
XxTheGamingUnicornxX Stench And Stenchability is a great episode. When Zoidberg. asks Mary Ann for one last kiss made me tear up a bit. And at the end, too. It was so great seeing Zoidberg finding love and happiness.
There are series better deserving of a reboot being made right now. Not to mention Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty, other sci-fi shows that are pretty great.
Ibplayindestiny ikr its like they are making you watch the old ones...get sick of them then go to the new ones and then get sick of THEM then they just do it over and over till no one will watch them X0 :(
@@voiceofreason2691 To be honest some of the episodes people put on lists are a little over hyped I'm happy he put Leelas homeworld because no one talks about it
no no no! what about the episode with hermes and bender and we figure out they have deep personal connection and to be honest i cried a little bit no spoiler
YIVO's episode had a GREAT start however it died bit by bit especially on the last episode... The way it ended was to ridiculous.. Compare the ending of bender's big score and Yivo's ending Bender's one ended with questions hanging whereas Yivo's ended because Yivo found a wife so he dumps 20 quadrillion people in the universe I find that so ridiculous TBH+DJisaunicorn phantomstrider8 Angus Yeung
Like Devil's hands are idle playthings, I agre it was very emotional. But the rest of the episode was mainly just about Bender having a petty rivalry with the dog which I personally found kind of unpleasant and out-of-character for him. To me, it just seemed like a tragedy story with no real conclusion until Bender's Big Score tied it up.
phantomstrider8 just watched it and yeah i get that i guess. it's beautiful in a way because of the bond they share but at the same time it's so heart wrenching.
My number one favourite is the one where Fry thinks his brother stole his life when he stole his lucky clover, but it turns out that he named his SON Phillip. I actually sob so much every time I see that one.
It's unfair to include a movie as an episode. While the plot twists and mix of heavy and lighthearted elements do make Bender's big score epic, the fact that it's a movie means that it was at a length that would allow all those things into the movie and it shouldn't be done any other way. The episodes only have approximately twenty minutes and Bender's big score had an hour and a half of content, so it had a really unfair advantage in this list.
I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't really like the #1 choice he made, but I think you really nailed it. The movies are really great, but I think a different episode probably deserved the #1 slot; most people go for Luck of the Fryrish and Jurassic Bark, though those ones are MUCH more emotional than having a good balance of comedy and drama.

Jimbo it really was wasn't it. Out of all the shows I've seen futurama does the beat with the feels moments so to speak better than any other animated show. Luck of the fryish, game of tones, the devils hands, especially jurassic bark. The list goes on.
Jimbo yeah it definitely is up there. Tbh just thinking about jurassic bark today is insanely upsetting. I don't think I've seen anything more gut wrenching in animated shows are movies even today.
I think one of the great things about this show is that every character is so likable. Even the unlikable ones are likable. I always joke that Fry is my celebrity crush. He's such a pleasant person. They all are.
The ending of "Jurassic Bark" teared out my heart when Fry said good bye to his long gone dog and believed that the dog had forgotten about him a long time ago... but then we see what happened and it took my exposed heart and burned it to dust. Damn if not that is the best one... the quite sneaky build up to that moment took me completely off guard.
Game Proffessor really? they're in a lot of episodes. the first one with the time skips. it starts out with the globetrotters coming to earth (they are their own race) and challenging earth to a basketball game.
I don't necessarily have a favorite, but there is one episode I remember fondly. I forget the name, but it's the episode where Bender and Hermes team up to hunt down an inspector that passed Bender even though he had a serious defect. It was very interesting to see how well these two very different characters work together. And the twist ending was also heartwarming. Granted there wasn't a lot of funny moments that I recall (the only ones being the Killbots shooting each other whenever someone said a word that remotely meant shooting their guns), but it was still a very enjoyable episode.
Here are a couple of good ones: Roswell That Ends Well The Sting Mother's Day I Second That Emotion Brannigan, Begin Again Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love? War Is The H-Word Amazon Women in the Mood Jurassic Bark Where No Fan Has Gone Before The Farnsworth Parabox Meanwhile
my problem with benders big score is that it retcons and ruins the actual best episode Jurassic bark the ending was such a pivotal moment for me and just thinking about it still makes me tear up.
In my opinion in the last episode when they said "wanna go around again?" I think the time button should have sent them back to the year 3000 when fry came into the future. This would technically make the show an infinite loop
NO!! I REFUSE TO CALL THE EPISODE "MEANWHILE" THE FINAL EPISODE!! THE SIMPSONS CAN STOP HERE AND NOW FOR ALL I CARE!! I WANT TO SEE MORE EPISODES OF FUTURAMA!! :'( THIS ISN'T THE END, THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!! WITH DEDICATED FANS LIKE ME AND MY FRIENDS MIRANDA AND SPENCER, .........IT......WILL..........NEVER.......DIE!!
***** You're absolutely right John! All CC cared about was the money and not our happiness. That is why I joined the "Save Futurama Again!" Campaign I want to see my favorite characters have more adventures. I even made a video with information on what we can do. Would you like to see it?
It actually inst the end there will be a crossover episode between futurism and the Simpsons www.buzzfeed.com/scottybryan/the-simpsons-futurama-crossover-episode-will-air
"The luck of the fryish" and "the late philp j fry" are my top 2 favorite episodes. The late philp j fry is just too mysterious, it makes you wonder about the grand scheme of things, and it makes you feel saddness thinking fry and leela not only wont see each other again, but they leela for the better half of the episode spunt it hating him until she saw the truth. So mysterious, romance, comedy, and drama rolled all into one. With soo much going on in that episode, it felt like watching a movie
Futurama had such a good run that there are very few picks for favorite that would ever make me question someone's favorites. That being said Naturama and The Holiday Spectacular are still horrible in my mind.
Dylan Shaw i was gunna say something since i couldn't believe it was mention in the video or comments but then i saw yours and i guess the universe isn't totally broken.
Eh, first off: I don't think a movie should count as a "top 10 episode" and second off, why not the episode where Fry got the Robot Devil's hands? The story, the songs, the whole thing was perfect but it isn't even on the list?
Devils hands are idle playthings. It's my number one episode and was actually the first series finale. It was such a well written and well received episode that fox gave them the movie contracts to see if they could strike gold twice.
Bender's Big Score is my favorite episode as well. But technically it is a movie, I guess you could say it's the best installment. If I was gonna introduce someone to Futurama, aside from the pilot, that's what I would show them. It answers all the questions from the first 4 seasons, and leaves even more questions to be asked. And it actually made me tear up a little. And I loved that almost every character had a story; Bender trying to kill Fry, Lars and Leelu, Leela and Lars, Hermes' marriage... The epicness of that movie is so high! I swear, I could rewatch it over and over any time. Just watched it a few days ago and the second it ended I literally felt like I could replay it. Great pick for #1.
My thoughts exactly my good man. Well put. Huge epicness, brought tears to my eyes and everyone got an interesting story. Though you are right it is technically a movie :/
I love them both. I like how you see Rick acting like he's the man with the plan, but is secretly miserable (that episode when he breaks up with Unity and tries to kill himself got to me A LOT), and Futurama has the best soundtracks, gags and smart writing. (even though both shows have amazing writing).
+Chris McWilliams Me too :) People who've played D&D in the past can enjoy some of the references in this one. But I can see someone whose never played going over their heads.
phantomstrider8 Yeah, I have to admit, if you strip all that out it's probably an overlong and silly episode but it's the reference that makes it work for me. :) I can honestly see people who aren't into all the nods and jokes wouldn't like it.
I prefer "Game of Tones." The ending hits me right in the feels. With Fry getting to spend time in his mother's memories to give him closure it was incredible touching.
+MaximumElectronic It was my least favorite, but mainly because I don't play D&D and as such didn't connect with the episode. I enjoyed Bender's Big Score and Into The Wild Green Yonder, I had mixed opinions on Beast with a Billion Backs, and I could not possibly care less about Bender's Game.
Jurassic Bark should be #1. HANDS DOWN that one is the winner, how dare you not even put it anywhere on the list. And the one where Fry gets the Lucy Liu robot as a girlfriend should be on the list somewhere too. If for nothing else, her epic last words "I will never forget you.... MEMORY DELETED!" Also, Bender's Big score wasn't an episode, it was a movie, like the beast with a billion backs, so that's a good place to start when looking for something to displace off the list for it.
Wow! Someone replied to a comment to agree with me! Usually it's to tell me I'm the dumbest living thing ever to grace the Earth with the imprint of its footstep.
I will say it's the only episode of futurama that made me cry, by far. Few things can do that to ME. I didn't even cry at the end of old yeller, I was just like "oh, it's time to kill the dog now".
I'll always remember this video fondly. I still remember watching this video at my grandma's house as an 11 year old using it on my first ever phone. I also remember being a little, uh... intrigued... by the now deleted "10 most controversial anime ever" video. For those who remember it, you'll know what I mean. Thankfully, I had not yet fully put the dots together on that one. I'm about to be a senior in high school. For a good two years, from when I discovered the channel around the time the "Worst Cartoon Shows Ever" video game out, this channel was my jam. I couldn't get enough. Something about the earnesty connected with pre-pubescent me. It's been a few years since I consistently watched the channel, but I'm glad to see that PhantomStrider is still successful to this day. Even if I don't quite enjoy the videos in the same way I used to, I'll always appreciate the countless hours of entertainment provided to me by these videos, as well as cherish the memories I made along the way.
"Lethal Inspection" almost made Bender less of a mostly self centered mechanized jerk, and exposed him to be almost human. Bender was actually, though briefly, vulnerable and relatable.Young Hermes was compassionate and unmoved by Momcorp's desire for perfection that ultimately fueled his resignation. Who knew that their paths would cross again and they would become friends that would travel internationally in search of the one person that Bender always trusted but now felt betrayed by while being completely oblivious that it was his friend and coworker. The almost nursery rhyme style song at the end always softens my heart, and has even brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion. The fact that Futurama ended with us wanting more will forever ensure that it will remain a beloved cult-classic. Thank you Netflix, for keeping one of my all time favorite shows alive to view when I want, in any order I want...
+Stefan Homberger Game of Tones, Lethal Inspection, The Sting, The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings *woop woop woop woop woop woop nyahhh nyahhh nyahhh*
Cool list. My top 10 [ in no real order] Time Keeps on Slippin' Insane in the Mainframe Bender Gets Made 40% Leadbelly A Pharaoh to Remember The Why of Fry The Farnsworth Parabox Obsoletely Fabulous The Sting Mothers Day :)
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Bee episode where Fry dies, or the sad dog episode, even the moby dick one, or anchovie... Hell there's so many lol
There's been surprisingly little mention from others about the bee episode (The Sting) but I personally thought it was one of the most emotionally powerful episode. Call me heartless, but I found an episode about Fry or Leela dying much more powerful than an episode of a dog dying.
phantomstrider8 i read somewhere the writers originally made it about Fry's mom, but changed it to his dog because the mom version would have been extremely depressing, and in that sense it's very very sad. I thought this one was sad any way because when i think about it, fry thought his dog lived a long and happy life but in fact his dog didn't and waited for him.... The bee one always makes me tear up lol
It was originally about Fry's mom? Geez that would've been depressing (though they did kind of do that episode in the final season) As for Seymour, at least he always had Lars :) And I agree with you about The Sting. The final moments where Leela is deciding whether to take the final spoonful hits me harder emotionally than probably any other Futurama scene. I don't know why exactly, but Fry talking Leela through her pain in those final moments really hits me hard.
phantomstrider8 Yeah it would make sense because like you say in Game of Tones they DO make it about Fry's mom. Love how a comedic show has some sad moments.
phantomstrider8 I agree. That final scene in The sting is throat catchingly beautiful. It's as about as brilliant as the movie Up! And why that movie never won a best picture Oscar is a crime.
My favorite thing about Futurama is that 9 times out of 10, the show was funny. But there were episodes that really pulled at your heart strings. Like Fry's Dog!
I'm suprised Luck of the Fryish and Jurassic Bark didn't make it on this list. Both episodes were extremely heart-warming and sad. Their endings made Futurama fans everywhere misty-eyed, and they were perfect episodes. They should have been included on this list. I'm suprised there wasn't even an honorable mention for these episodes. Did you not like them, or what?
What about Jurassic Bark, Luck of the Fryrish, and The Why of Fry? Those were some of the saddest episodes that delve into the tragic reality of Fry's situation, a side that rarely came up in the show.
10. How Hermes Requisitioned his groove back (Do a flip) 9. Parasites Lost 8. Space Pilot 3000 7. I, Roommate (Kill all humans) 6. Bender's Big Score 5. Fry and the Slurm Factory 4. Hell is other robots 3. Goodfellas (The next two I will explain why I like them) 2. The Sting: This episode shows how much Leela actually cares about Fry, but it is ruined in the beginning of the next episode 1. Jurassic Bark: This isn't the funniest episode of the series, but is definitely extremely sad and touching. It starts out with Fry wanting to bring his old dog back to life, but Bender becomes jealous. There are tons of flashbacks that show how much Fry's dog really loves him. Other episodes I like: Roswell that ends well Bender's Game Luck of the Fryrish
I found Cartoon Fun Pit unappealing. i just feel these kind of episodes are out of place and just scream FILLER, though they are typicaly season finales. I loved Luck Of The Fryish and the Titanic episode incredible. I watched Luck Of The Fryish countless times and I always manage to choke up.
Skittle Dragon Well, you could call Anthology of Interest filler too. But I tend to see them more as the writer's being creative without having to worry about plot. I can certainly see how it could be seen as filler too though. I think I'm partial to it because it made me laugh so much.
Skittle Dragon I just love Richard Nixon's head, so I enjoy every episode when I hear his cheeks flab and him yell 'Shut Up Hippie!' But really, Nixon's head is hilarious in almost any situation the writers put him in, but they know when to leave him out to not ruin his character.
I agree that the Robot Hell song is the best Futurama song... especially since I memorized it so I can bust it out if there is ever a moment where it's needed.....
i love the episode where fry goes on a quest to revive his 7-leaf clover after he found out his brother took his identity when he got frozen . how is it called?
I thought the best episode was the first. It found a way to introduce the future in that it both explained enough so that the audience (along with Fry) knows what's going on (robots, the head museum), and left enough unsaid so that we still got a decent amount of surprises later on (Nibbler, the sewer mutants, the Professor's insane inventions, time travel). I also like the episode The Series Has Landed, as it put both Fry and Leela in a more of a sympathetic light while casually introducing Hermes, Amy and, why not, Zoidberg.
