I can't believe how many people hate in the graff scene. He obviously said that these are his top ten favorite. He doesn't need to justify why. Then ones who hate aren't true to the art. Just posers who came to talk shit. We don't need you in the scene.
I respct that you could pick 10 and then rate them. But myself personally would find it way to difficult to do a list such as this. And everyone is going to be bias to there own Country, State, Town, Crews etc. But Daim, Bates and Can Two are all living legends.
There will always be people that don't understand what personal opinion is. If you disagree with his listing thats your problem, but you shouldn't hate on him only because he didn't include your favourite artist. I personally miss Sofles too, but I don't hate on his video nor his opinion. And some do not understand that wildstyle you shouldn't be ranked top notch if the artist hasn't got any can control or experience. Swet is an artist with great history and pretty basic style.
Many people don't understand that I cant include EVERY dope artist in a video with only 10 artists. Of course I love dare and seen and all the other dope artist out there, this is just a video with a few of my personally favorites. If I would include every good graffer the video would be way too long haha
Seems like you didn't account for enough pioneers and New York is severely under represented. No Bio, Westo, Cope2, FX, Lee, Seen, Dondi, Blade, Comet, Cap, Tkid and too many others to mention? No Mear, Slick, Hex, MSK? No Twist? Crayon? Dream, Dug, Spie? I get it your looking through your eye as an artist, but there is so much more than that. You got to consider the impact of the writer too. I'm not discrediting anybody on your list, but who knows if 80% of your list would have ever started writing if the Bronx didn't set off graff in the first place.
Couldn't agree more, Ces FX COPE2 SEEN and DONDI are the ones who still set the standard these days, computer generated art doesn't count in my eyes if that's what i saw through out it.
Then Taki183 owes all his gratitude to Kilroy or what? Who owes gratitude to the caveman who painted on the walls for the first time? That makes no sense.. Man has always painted walls
I miss Rasko too, best Bomber out there today with a heavy style. And my personal fav Keep6. But there are so many great Artrists, so not all can be in the Top 10 ;)
i couldn´t choose which would be number one. i think when it comes to the complexity of the style, daim would be at nr.1. but i like the works of does, can two and mad c more. i doen´t know why. maybe because their works reminds me more of the fact that graffiti is an elemant of hiphop. and i associates their letters with hip hop i don´t know why ^^
Wot happened to Ezra, Totem, Risk, Shime, Dash, Puppet, etc, etc...they all deserve a shout out. But i guess, its each to their own, tru? U should of just said, ur personal top best 10, not all round. Coz every top artist is unique and can't be compared to each other!
TOY! No self respecting writter even begins to list a top ten.Beginings,BLADE,STITCH,STAY HIGH,SUPER KOOL,SEEN,Throw ups, COPE 2,JA,KR,TWIST,TYKE,REMINESCE,SKUF,Hand styles, ENEM,PHASE2,YES,SABER,MODE2, FUCK! man TOO MUCH! I haven't even started on piecers.HEX1,SLICK,TC-5 crew,TAT crew,COD crew,SIK crew,AWR crew,MSK crew SHOUTS TO ONE AND ALL GET UP!
As I said, Robbo is definitely more like a bomber than an artist. He brought the graffiti enviroment to Great britian in the early 80's, and that awesome. He is a king. However, not in the perspective the video was made for. Robbo can bomb and paint graffiti all over the town, but his style is still not close to good at todays standards. This video has the best now living artist today, not the ones that was king decades ago but havent improved their style since then.
for the art they were good, however it'd be better with some of the pioneers, Dez, Seen, Dondi etc without them a lot of these artists probably wouldn't exist
I'm not even sure if can control is even a metric anymore. Considering all these luxury lines of paint out. It seems it would come down to flexing outlines and originality- the basis of styles. Strip away all the colors and effects made with unlimited paint, colors and low pressure cans and what are we truly left with? That, is the million dollar question my friend.
it depends on the way you look at graffiti . graffiti started as being illegal and most of the pieces in the video are in legal walls . artists like rasko do great pieces in illegal areas and in record time ... a lot of good artists missing there .
It would've made more sense for the title to say top 10 "Favorite", instead of "Best". It's impossible to say who's the "best" because everyone's opinion's going to be different and there are way to many points to judge on. For example, one writer might have the sickest, most photo realistic characters and scenery, but have wack, generic lettering. Does that make that person a better "graffiti Artist" than someone like Ces or Bates? I don't think so, but some people would disagree with me on that.
whiro77 k you either know him or of him for a while.I've been in the scene for 25 years and know others 30 and 40 years in the game.Freights may be illegal but they are easy as @#^$.Most upstarts use them to legitimize their street cred. Please note I respect the mans style.Much like I do Saber and other style innovators from today to back in the day such as Tkid and the late Case2.But this guy in over all terms lacks hard to be listed as one of the top ten of all time?
No. Well, this really bugs me. Ever since I made the top 10 graffiti artist thingy, very many people have complained about Robbo not being included. Okay, he was a good bomber and his war with banksy might be cool and have a lot of views on youtube, but when it comes to style and skills he is DEFINITELY not close to this. He has old boring letters with no style, and this artist is waaay better, it is no question about it at all. Also, if you learn english someone would maybe take you seriously
what really bugs ME, is the fact that ive only been into graffiti real heavy fer maybe a year an a half an i can atleast respect what is widely recognized as a founder of street graffiti....if you like something you should atleast learn about where it comes from an its history.....
why are you all on about rasko? he's the most internet self promoting guy out there. ah right i just answered my own question. what about aryz? logan.. banos.. too much to mention..
