@@victorsandeen2694 Its a visual "gag" from the very first Halo. There was no face beneath it so when the PC version finally came, and thus free modded camera controls, people were curious to see his face in the final cutscene when he takes of his helmet from a perspective that doesn't allow seeing his face. To there suprise they only saw a second helm pop up beneath it when they moved the camera.
It's a small detail that was given a good explanation for simplicity. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people get put off a game because timing gets poorly explained by players.
Right, it's easy to forget. Usually in duel links the OP has 2 out of 3 masks and only need to search the last one. Those who don't know think the opponent got to search twice haha
It's honestly a bit more clearer for people to understand what you're talking about if you say it's a hard once per turn, since soft once per turn can technically be used multiple times in a single turn.
I would actually prefer that to another annoying ass dimensional fissure that also punishes for searching. This one card has effectively bastardized the hero archetype.
@@dustinvance243 I mean, if Dark Law had been a generic fusion the HERO archetype probably would have just died. Pretty hard to stay relevant when your best cards get beat out by every other meta deck on an average turn.
@@dustinvance243 shut up, and deal with it. Only noob that complain "uuh Dark Law so broken, i can't handle it", meanwhile OCG has 3 macro cosmos and they're fine. HERO is the best
@@Rioluman10 I think that's what they meant. Since other than Sunrise the 1st half of the video is Destiny and Vision heroes, and the 2nd is Elemental and Masked.
A thing to be noted about Dark Law. It's banish from hand effect isn't a hard once per turn. So if you have multiple Dark Laws on the field, you could trigger multiple of them from the same search, taking multiple cards out of your opponent's hand making them go very neg.
@@TheDuelLogsNo It's not I play competitive Heros, Nova master is a meta check card. If Salads are being played you can run it, but most of the time You'll run E- Hero-Escondido over nova. The Extra Deck space is tight, 1xmasked Hero Anki, 2x Darklaw, 1x Acid, 1 Masked Hero Dian, 1x Destiny Hero Dystopia, 1 Vision Hero Trinity, 1x Vision Hero Adoration* E-Hero Absolute Zero, 1x E-hero Shining, 2x Xtra Hero Cross Crusader, 1x xtra Hero wonder Driver, 1x Xtra Hero Dread decimator. Thats the extra deck if you cant afford the Evil Hero package with the option to side out cards for tech choices. You'll Swap out Shining for Sunrise when it comes out friday.
@@tester810E-Hero Escuadio is a omi Hero that's better in all situations instead of the one match you'll summon it in. He tried to claim that E -Hero Nova master was one of the most played when it's not. That's why I called him out.
Idea for video: Top 10 cards that become archetypes years later. So stuff like Skull Servants and Thunder Dragons. I'm confident that you could come up with a better title than I could.
Good idea. Immortal Phoenix gearfried made me pull out united we stand and other equips lol. Isolde breeds consistency even if it's a turn later to use the searched card though you can dump equips to special summon something weaker (unless you got over 8 equips lol).
Exactly! Ive played since the game first came out. As soon as i got my first burstinatrix, my deck always has heroes. Always. No matter the deck. Dark magician deck? U can bet i got a hero somewhere
I'm kind of surprised Elemental HERO Great Tornado didn't make it to at least a low spot on this list, given the fact he just casually halves the attack of all your opponent's monsters. So that means anything with less than 5600 gets bodied (which, spoiler, not a lot of monsters can reach that high without extensive set-up)
As a noble knight player, seeing dark law is straight depressing. I know banish hits everyone’s deck, but losing all my equips (let alone my materials for my xyz’s) there’s nothing left for my deck if dark law ends up on board turn 1 or if during my turn they mask change into dark law. Saltiness aside, it is a really good card and it deserves it it’s top spot
It seems like the running theme here is how flexible the fusion costs are. The best elemental hero cards no longer follow the trend of "this specific Elemental Hero" + "this specific Elemental Hero". NGL I kind of miss that.
I remember when i got my first structure deck. It was "Hero strike" and I remember loving the design for Dark Law and thought it was super op. But then i heard that most structure decks sucked so i though Dark law would end up as a "little timmy" card that wouldn't actually be any good. Lets just say i have an apology to make to my piece of cardboard. (Also it had Koga and the wind one Kaze?, those arent top 10 or anything but i think they're pretty neato anyway)
@@dark_colour5204 yeah. Turns out that decks main issues were more based on lack of mask change and the fact they thought id want anything to do with the neos archetype
It could be worse You could've been one of those who thought a card was *guaranteed* to be a 3 of staple and dropped upwards of $100+ per copy, only for it to flop and be worth a percent of what you paid
It is a crime that malicious bane and Kluger aren't on this list. Malicious bane is a red dragon archfiend scarlight that also permanently gains attack and is immune to destruction by battle and card effects. And Neos Kluger finally gave us the Neos and Yubel fusion we should have gotten, makes Wiseman playable, and can potentially 0tk.
I've been gone from Yugioh since about 2007 I guess and I recently found your channel after getting Link Evolution for Switch. Hero cards were my absolute favorite as a kid, and I'm learning so much about the game and having fun rediscovering new plays. Thanks a lot!
I recommend using Solid Soldier, Shadow Mist, Dark Law, Dian, Mask Changes. I would also recommend Isolde. Shes a link 2 that was meta a year ago in Gouki. Equip spells to use with her effect to special summon Shadow Mist out would be Moon Mirror Shield (equip this if you draw it then link into Isolde to put itself back so Isolde is live again), D.D.R, Living Fossil, the noble arms that pops a spell or trap etc. Any 4 equips that are extenders basically. Anything like Junk Foward, Goblindbergh, or Photon Thrashed can help to make her in addition to your normal summon to make Isolde. You basically get Isolde plus Dark Law easy plus back row of your preference. Another clean tip, Isolde can search out a follow up normal summon like Stratos for next turn or Honesty Neos to protect Dark Law. Last thing, after special summoning Shadow Mist to fetch Mask Change, wait until your opponent s turn to Mask Change it to Dark Law. This will allow you to get the search a HERO effect off to get around Mists one effect per turn. The deck plays differently IRL bc LinkEvos cardpool is a bit behind but this advice should help.
Absolute Zero is insane, fusion summon it and then instantly Mask Change it to Masked HERO Acid and you can just wipe your opponents field while getting an extra 100 attack. I’ve done that plenty of times
Get absolute zero, activate form change on it, so it leaves the field and destroys all monsters. Form changes gets you to change absolute zero to Masked Hero Acid, which destroys all spell/traps. So enemy has no cards on the field and you have a 2600 attack monster... Edit : Lol I wrote this when we were at absolute zero...
10: I'd have to see the rest of the list first, but I'd rate this guy much higher because of those Search and Destroy effects. The attack gains cute, but those numbers can get pretty big when stack on top of other similar effects. 9: No complaints. Generic materials? Check (as far as Heroes go). Graveyard setup? Double Check. Decent power boost? Check, and it's a QUICKIE. 8: No complaints about Dystopia, but... more combo friendly than Dominance? The guy who, while requiring more materials to summon (irrelevant with Fusion Destiny), sets up the GY with more stuff? The guy who, upon getting destroyed either by battle or ANY card effect (but mostly Fusion Destiny), will bring back 3 different Level 9 or lower Destiny HEROs, including, but not limited to: >Disc Commander, who lets you Draw 2 (once per Duel though, and not on the same turn he got milled). >Drawhand, who lets you (and your opponent) Draw 1 and won't get banished since his effect wasn't used to revive him. >Drill Dark, the Solid Soldier of Destiny HEROs, who can Special Summon another Destiny HERO from the hand upon his summon, including the previously mention Drawhand. >Dystopia AND Dangerous, the former of with can use his Burn effect again. 7: No complaints. He's generic and gets by Fusion Destiny 6: Your description text doesn't explain the effect properly. The multi attack is on as long as he was Fusion Summoned. Only the Double Attack is limited to the turn he was Fusion Summon. 5: If only it said "banished 'HERO' monsters". That'd make it much better. And if it couldn't miss timing. 4: DAT BOI GOOD! 3: It's a Masked Hero, it can attack directly (not that you would), you can Mask/Form Change loop with itself or the other Level 8 Masked HEROs or Dark Law, and it's got pretty good targets to change into it. 2: You better mention Absolute Acid. 1: Just watch what you're banishing. And where's Destiny End Dragoon... oh wait.
I've used Dominance in tournaments, because I wanted to use disc commander. But have to say that it's not that good as it can get field removal outside destruction pretty easily and does not disrupt board in anyway. I've used Rokket specifically so that I can guarantee dominance's destruction. But bringing out dominance never let me to win. It also forces you to play more Destiny Hero which does not combo well with other heroes as Destiny Heroes can't do anything on it's own. So, yeah. Dystopia is much more versatile and combo friendly than Dominance.
@@halvarianknight4477 nah. Dragoon's the one that can revive itself as long as you have a D-Hero in your graveyard during the Standby Phase; he can also delete a monster while doing some burn damage if: a) it can be targeted and b) you don't care about not having your battle phase that turn. The one you are thinking of is Neos Krieger.
Thanks for this list. I run 2 Absolute Zero and Dark Law cards in my deck. I need Masked Hero Acid as well but I also run Koga and Divine Wind. Probably not the best cards but I like to think they serve a purpose.
I want a tokusatsu series with a bunch of the Hero monsters. I'd probably like Hero monsters more if I didn't think of freaking Judai every time they're mentioned.
@@TheDuelLogs that's fair enough, bane was just the 2nd really good fusion monster that came to my mind after DL, so I was Co fused. Also I liked that you included Sunrise even tho he's technically not tcg yet. Keep the good content comming :)
Easy way to explain the timing of optional effects. "If", as long as the condition happens, you can activate the effect. "When", the condition must be the last thing happening in order to be able to activate the effect, so if a chain occurs which causes the condition to not be the last thing happening, you miss the timing.
it is a mechanic that could have been easily avoided if komoney had once per turn clauses for floaters back in the old days. apparently the mechanic did not exist back in 1999 but if it did there was no effect that could really miss timing.
@@scorpionsapprentice3248 Komoney's problem is that they vehemetly refused to work with keywords and when they introduced "banish" they still half-assed it, because now you have look up both "out of play" and "banish" text when searching cards for same effect/trigger. It's the reason why everyone makes memes out of yugioh several paragraph long card effects, that way they could've rebalanced the rules around keywords without the mandatory text additions for all the new cards and erratas/bans on every problematic card.
Dude, Sunrise is such a good card. If you start with a Blazeman or Poly in your hand, you just instantly get a Sunrise and another fusion. Destroying any card on the field for just having an Hero attack is just the cherry on top.
Back in the day I would use Polymerization to summon Terra Firma then use Miracle Fusion to summon Absolute Zero by banishing Ocean and Woodsman. Then I would use Terra Firma's effect to send Absolute Zero to the GY and raise its ATK to 5000 which then would trigger Absolute Zero's effect to destroy all monsters the opponent controls
Flame/Shining Flare Wingman could have been a honorable mention, and maybe even Gaia and Nova. Also as a video idea, a Top 10 Pointless Cards in Duel Links
Remember playing hero's as an anti meta Strat back when the omni hero's first were coming out. I don't even think the dark one was out yet. Super poly always caught people off guard. Loved using the opponants Trish.
true, i am a duel links player exclusively, but one of my favorites is elemental HERO core. for the decks that play it, it is a simple generic 3 monsters that any card in the deck can satisfy (as long as the card is a monster) for materials. on top of that, it is very difficult to beat over, as the opponent has to have more than double its 2700 attack (unless they can change its battle position), and also acts as a great "noob trap". then its second effect blows up 1 monster of the controller's choice during the end phase if it battled (optional, cant miss timing). Its final effect then resurrects 1 lower leveled fusion monster of the same archetype when destroyed by any means, even its own effect. the only limitations are the fact that it stays within its own archetype and that it is a light monster. but you already pointed out that when number 10 goes international, the shining will likely become more valueable, so i think core might get the same treatment. 10 is an elemental hero, after all. not to mention that core can revive it to get a second search out of the same card.
Don't forget Destiny HERO Denier who can get a banished Destiny HERO Malicious back into the deck to use its effect again (also form change can be used on dangerous to get out Masked hero dark law)
best thing about dark law is that it is a soft once per turn, so if you have 2 on the field, you will banish 2 cards from your opponent's hand if they add a card from their deck
There are always 3 Masked Hero monsters missing I would do 5 Destiny Hero fusions with monsters of other attributes Demolisher fire ,Deep water or D frost, Dinosaster earth, Desert wind and Dynamo light
Masked HERO back then: yeah we can’t be destroyed or fain 200 atk Masked HERO now a days: I banish all monster my opponent controls, I banish monsters not only to help shining but also to make monsters loose atk. A can I attack directly and add more change cards and finally I can destroy all my opponents face downs to make them loose atk.
I'd like to see this as well. That Supreme King Z-Arc comes to mind but is a kick ass monster if you get it out. Though I got mad when someone Kaiju'ed it.
Regarding Absolute Zero @ 12:48 "So, if your opponent destroys this card by battle, destroys it by card effect, bounces it, banishes it, or returns it to the Deck..." -- whoops! If it's returned to the Extra Deck face-down with Phoenix Wing Wind Blast or a similar effect, Zero's Raigeki does NOT activate, as cards face-down *in a Deck* do not have effect text and cannot have any effects activated. If it's sent there face-up, then it works.
You know what is better than dark law? It's summoning a acid over absolute zero with dark law already been in the table. Banishing all monsters and spells and traps. When you do that combo you feel like a God.

Sokaras not exactly true. Because before he did a list of just worst normal monsters some time back. So it'd be interesting to see how many ritual monsters we once thought were decent, are really just crappy. It's nice to meet you btw.
i never understood why mask change 2 existed until you started to explain why dark law was number 1, despite knowing already why it was number 1. it never clicked that it could be used on any monster instead of a hero monster like the original mask change
I know this video is a couple years old but Fun Fact: Dystopia and Dangerous are even better now because you can link them with another HERO, Cross Crusader, and immediately use him to bring them back, which saves them from Fusion Destiny's destroy at the end phase. So you can basically get it out for free. Plus if Malicious was used for Fusion destiny you can summon another to the field, link it with Cross Crusader to get Dread Decimator, increasing Dystopias ATK to use his destruction effect.
I would’ve put core in here. 2700 atk, any 3 heroes, can double atk if attacked, if it survives or atks can destroy a monster on the field and if destroyed by battle or card effect can special summon an elemental hero fusion monster.

I'd argue Evil Hero Malicious Bane would better replace either Vision Hero Trinity or Maked Hero Anki, since it's effect prevents battle or effect destruction, has a nuke effect, and gains atk when you nuke. Also his summoning is fairly easy to get out since Adjuster Gold can search Dark fusion of Dark Calling while also setting up your grave with 1 of the materials needed and getting the materials isn't hard since if you run D-Hero Malicious or the lvl 5 Vision Hero, you can get the materials set up quickly. Anki is okay, but his effects, while decent, aren't always reliable as attacking directly via his effect will cause half the damage, and his effect to get out a "Change" Quick-play only works if it can run something over, which isn't hard, but Anki offers little protection or disruption. Also small correction: Absolute Zero is the ONLY Omni Hero fusion whose fusion materials require any HERO and a Water monster versus the others who require Elemental Hero cards + 1 card of the corresponding attribute of the Omni fusion.
Did anyone else use Dark World Dealings and/or Hand Destruction to make your opponent draw on your turn to activate Dark Law's eff? God that was hilarious lol.
Me personally i like wlemental hero core, solid effect, and easy to summon with stratos combo fetching 3 heros. Because of the stratos being in duel links, i have a nasy deck
If this wasn’t a fusion monster list and general hero lost Blood-D also would’ve been in a solid top 3 list for hero cards in my opinion. The vampire boi Blood-D is a skill drain on legs.
It's interesting how the duel links meta has changed over the last few months and you almost never see Masked hero decks anymore. Of course one part of that is how hard it is to make a good masked hero deck.
Anki is once per turn, but if you search for form change and use it to get dian out, you can SS shadowmist and get another mask change to then get out darklaw.(got to make sure not have already have a darklaw out because the monsters need to hit the GY)
As a seasoned hero player with fusion destiny you can send elemental hero shadow mist for dangerous because it's a dark eff monster which makes you go plus
