How about a top 10 plus, plus tuberose list, please, thank you... I am just getting into tuberose now and am very much enjoying Tuberosis by Laboratorio Olfattivo.
Great list. I love Bandit so much I named my cat (pictured here) after it. I have some early 1950s Bandit parfum and can attest that the modern Piguet is very faithfull.
By some miracle I’ve managed to catch this one live. Mr Persolaise you should do more lists!! It was a joy to watch, dziekuje bardzo i do następnego razu!
Thanks for sharing your list. Leather is one of my favourite types of perfume. Some favourites in my collection are Cuir by Mona di Orio, Cuir by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, Cuir Ottoman by Parfum d’Empire, Hyde by Hiram Green and Tabac Blond by Caron. Also really loved my sample of vintage Scandal by Lanvin
Never had the chance to try Leather oud 😞 and the prices now are just crazy. Love my leathers, I'm wearing Otto Parisi Cuoium today, it's fantastic! As always a pleasure to watch your videos! Thank you Dariush!!! PD Great video cover picture!!!
Ooooooh leather😍! A happy surpise. But oh, the horrors of trying to pick a few favourites... Mona di Orio's smoky leather is my all-time favourite of course, but I adore all the Hermés leathers (especially Bel Ami!!!), Cuir de Russie, and Leather Oud, and obviously Knize Ten, Montale Cuir d'Arabie, Dzing!, Cuir Améthyste and Parfum d'Empire Cuir Ottoman's sticky sweet comfort scent... Sigh. All deserve the fanfar. For the Top 10 ideas I'd, again, (i'm so sorry🤭), would like to ask for a violet/violet leaf list if you'd do something like that🥺...? Thank You for the beautiful roundup, a true delight. Have a peaceful Sunday, Mr. P.!
That was very special top 10. So obvious that leather is one of your favourite notes :) But the only one thing i can think about now is to buy Rien and make a joke 😂 and please, please do top 10 "stinkers" 🤪
Hi! So much enjoyed this top ten even though I appreciate leather as more a supportive note rather than than the featured one. But, I really really appreciate the still life you create with your bottles to your right there. I get a kick how it’s a work in progress which is completed at the end . Ever think of photographing them? Thanks so much for these videos.
Oooh what a lovely top 10 ! Sorry I missed the live… because leather is amongst my favorite perfume notes 🥰 If I want to smell chic I wear my Cuir de Russie, and Francesca Bianchi’s The Lover’s Tale is more seductive, warm and dirty I find. And whenever I want to keep people at a distance and smell bloody great at the same time, I wear Rien, and not just one spray, but a good couple of them 😂😉
Btw, I also have a tendency to "see" fragrances - they often evoke a visual image for me. Lonestar Memories is similar to your vision. Vilhelm's Morning Chess brings to mind French doors opening on to an enclosed garden space/lawn, with a mid-morning summer sun shining down on an outdoor table and two chairs.
Loved the thumbnail pic! I am saving up for Cuir de Russie extrait. The edp is more of a floral to me. My other favorites include Marquis de Sade, Anubis, and the base of Francesca Bianchi's line.
The most wonderful leather composition I have smelt besides Cuir de Russie by Ernest Beaux , was Kadine by Jacques Guerlain (in the 2021 version reconstructed by Thierry Wasser) it is so delicately and sensitively composed, a whispered poem of familiar iris and violet notes within an earthy green surrounding and accompanied by a very elegant gentle leather note.
@@Persolaise I really hope you will! Next time at the Guerlain boutique ask them if they still have a tester. That is how I was able to try it too. I am 100% sure you will adore this one.
I recently got into leather scents and I bought Salvatore Ferragamo Spicy Leather as my first. I then went on to try a few more and I just cannot get enough of Russian Leather, be it from Memo or Molton Brown, they just do it for me! Thank you the great video!
I must finally try Lonestar Memories this year, with all that praise coming from you. It seems like a perfect leather fragrance. Maybe something to read some Jack London novel or even Cormack McCarthy. I was about to ask about Dior Leather Oud and now you just adressed it. Might try and ask at a Dior store when I am in Berlin the next time. Speaking of leather scents: I recently blind bought a bottle of Opus XI because of your reviews. I absolutely adore it. So happy to have found one online. My partner hates it though, as I had anticipated, haha. Too much rocket fuel and burnt rubber in there.
Hello Mister P. Not much experience with leathers and not fond of many but one I am a big fan of is cuirlilas from sultan pasha. It is super floral and purple as well as a little leathery. Very beautiful and in consideration for getting a bottle of
perhaps you would not regard it as leather scent but personally, i think Tom Ford White Suede is best leather scent i tried. The Chanel one I really tried but i couldnt stand with the pee smell after the opening 😅 Hermes one is the one i wanna get, but its hard to buy it in Australia. i went to Dubai airport and tried to get it there but it was completely out of stock. sigh. anyway, i love leather scent and will try those you recommended for sure
@@Persolaise I'll hop in here from New York (hop hop hop)... I own and love two Memo Paris selections *African Leather* and *Marfa* and I highly recommend you try them. I'll leave the description and their requisite notes to your experienced nose but....suffice it to say....I find them each to be very beautiful and very comforting. (((🐧)))
great video as always. You already mentioned a few of my favorite leathers, but to add to those, I really love Rose & Cuir and The Black Knight. I'd looove to see your top aldehydic fragrance list!
I'd add Regent Leather by Thameen to the list. It has a unique finesse to it, on my skin. My leathers would be TF TL and Thameen RL. Antaeus is less refined. It might have been perfect for its time, but we live in different times. As a newbie to the fragworld I've smelled all those 3 perfumes for the first time at around the same time (back in the days - the 80s - I used Kouros, but never got to smell Antaeus) and the finesse of the newer compositions are quite obvious to my novice nose.
@@Persolaise oh, I totally agree. I understand. Scents are (as we all know) associated with memories. Antaeus defiantly has a lot of memories for a lot of people. However, for people who do not have any memories associated with it (it's a new scent as far as I am concerned), they judge it "emotionlessness" on its scent merit against contemporary leather scents. I totally understand how Antaeus is a pillar for a lot of fragworld veterans. (On a different "note", pun intended, I've managed to find/buy today a new 90ml gucci guilty absolute full bottle, which is becoming a rarity in our midst, for just 55$... :) Another interesting leathery perfume).
If Terminator was a very passionate frag head. That's how I'd capture the thumbnail 😊. I love binge watching because I tend to miss the lives here in NZ.
I think the og version of diors leather oud is discontinued. They have since put out another fragrance called leather oud which isn't really the same. They are apparently different enough that they have them listed separately on fragrantica 🤔
I think in terms of execution you could argue that Violette Volynka and Cuir d'Ange are interchangeable/tied in the list as I struggle to say one is inherently better than the other while also acknowledging that there's no point imo to have both 🤣. Another more modern leather that I think definitely deserves to be on the list would be Francesca Bianchi's Black Knight, I'd also put the case for Puredistance's M but that's been discontinued :( .
A pleasure catching your video today, Mr. P. It would be real fun to see you do a Top 10 "Guilty Pleasure" Perfumes - If you've not already done one😅(*credit to @RamseytheRam who did one of these lists the other day which remined me)
