This year I really loved The Whale, Glass Onion, Babylon, Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman and a few others as well. 2022 was a good year for film.

My top 5: 1. The Banshees of Inisherin - A friendship breaks apart and emotions escalate for 2 hours. Deceivingly simple plot that's nonetheless the funniest, saddest, most poignant screenplay of the year. 2. Aftersun - My favorite drama of the year. I'm a sucker for stories about family and the passing of time. This film satisfied both checks and successfully destroyed me. 3. Everything Everywhere All At Once - A movie about (literally) everything: what's possible and impossible, how either can embellish or damn our outlook on life itself. Original, entertaining and relevant. 4. Decision To Leave - Very original, character-driven police procedural that smartly navigates through black comedy, mystery thriller and drama, paired with some of the year's best cinematography + editing. 5. RRR - The most unapologetically entertaining extravaganza of 2022. Won't find a more perfect marriage between over the top action, catchy musical numbers, the power of bromance and revisionist history anywhere else.

10. Prey- By far one of the best Predator movies that have recently come out. 9. Barbarian- The first act of this movie was one of the most tension filled first acts I’ve seen in recent horror movies. 2nd and 3rd act didn’t quite live up to the first act but it still had me thoroughly entertained. 8. The Black Phone- Ethan Hawke as the grabber was just phenomenal. 7. Massive Talent- I’m honestly surprised no one is talking about this movie. This really was the funniest movie I saw all year. It was a great satire on Nicholas Cage the actor. 6. Glass Onion- Just watched it the other night and I think I liked it better than Knives Out which I also loved. Give me more Benoit Blanc movies. 5. The Northman- A very good revenge story that has the most epic duel at the end off the movie. 4. The Menu- I loved the satire in this film when it comes to the food industry and it just does a great job poking fun at critics whether it comes to food or ironically movies. 3. The Batman- I still don’t think this was quite as good as Dark Knight or Batman Begins but I think that speaks more to how much I really love those movies. I loved this Batman. Robert Pattinson might be my favorite live action Batman. I just hope we get to see a little more of him as Bruce Wayne it future films. 2. Everything Everywhere All at Once- One of most unique movies that we don’t see from Hollywood all that often. 1. Top Gun Maverick- What else hasn’t been said about this movie. This film was a movie theater experience I don’t think I will soon forget.

Top Gun was WAY better than The Batman. Robert Pattinson did not impress me--not intimidating enough. And he played Bruce Wayne (what little of him there was EXACTLY like Batman). I have not even had the desire to watch it a second time

Top Gun: Maverick Honorable mention: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (liked it overall, mainly for Sam Raimi’s return to Marvel, but was kinda let down by some aspects of it.)

Babylon for me was easily movie of the year I spent 15 hours of my life watching it 5 times and it is just so amazing

The Batman is beautifully crafted yet there are so many dumb scenes that took me completely out of the movie. The bomb explodes right in fhis face... and when Batman is in the interrogation cell with the whole GPD... nah... that being said the opening montage is awesome!

Man I wished I liked batman as you guys did. It just felt like a se7en knock off but done worse. Lot of people I know loved it so I felt left out. Also I am vengeance scene felt so funny I chuckled in theatre and everyone gave me stinky eye 🤣 he didn't sell me one bit that he was a trained ninja.
