That Rebecca plot hole is one reason for why the first game needs another remake. Have her characterization in that game be consistent to how it was in 0
Well in RE Remake it makes sense but is better explained in one of the side stories in Umbrella Chronicles. In RE1, she is exhausted, almost drained of resources, losing her adrenaline high as her body can no longer compensate, it makes more sense than people give it credit for.
Edward ashford is technically the grandfather of alfred and alexia. Alexander ashford is the father. Edward died in 1968 from exposure to progenitor virus. Im not sure if this is canon at the time of re0 release ( edwards death) because i dont remember if progenitor virus was a thing until explaining uroboros. Basically the tvirus wasnt a splice of progenitor with leech dna. However i remember lisa trevor recieved direct injection of progenitor in REmake so maybe edwards death has been canon since 2002. In any case, CV explains that edward is the grandfather and alexander is the father of the twins
I enjoy this game a lot. Yeah having to drop shit gets old lol but one of my fav RE rooms is in this one. Breeding room, no music and the hunters popping out makes it one of my favs. Great vid man
While nowhere near one of my favorites of the series, I do like RE0 and think it deserves a little more credit than a lot of people give it. I hope you'll do a video like this for all of the games.
Like the RE1 Remake, it looked really good when it came out and still holds up. The story and locations are solid, and the characters are likable. I honestly think the annoying quality of life downgrades are the main issue. I kinda get it because of the switching mechanic, but getting rid of the item boxes was painfully annoying. I don’t think it would be the best one, regardless, but it would likely be considered a lot better by just adding those in. The bosses were also kinda basic, but that’s not a huge issue for me. I like boss fights in RE games, but it’s not like they’re Soulsborne/Soulslike games or something, where that’s a make or break factor.
@@Cwin-ny6bp I agree with everything you said. RE0 is a good game, but the flaws you listed hold it back from greatness for me (and a lot of others it seems). Hopefully the upcoming remake can iron out a lot of its issues.

I really like this idea for your channel, and I hope the videos do well for you. I'll certainly watch. This game has its issues, I'll grant it that. But I still like it well enough, especially with the item box mod lol. I like it better than 4. Unpopular opinion and I'm ok with it.
I have a theory about Becky in RE1. When we play as her she has 1 handgun with no extra ammo. So it actually makes some sense she'd be defenseless vs a hunter. I mean I've tried taking on a hunter in REmake with the handgun, for sh-ts and giggles. While the result was semi humorous it did not go well. So her issues could be from a lack of equipment.
I'm one of the few that actually liked RE0 for what it is. It's a pretty solid prequel and we got to know what happened to bravo team, some more RE lore, and more stuff with Rebecca Chambers who's definitely an underrated character in the series. Wouldn't mind more games with her.
I like RE0 but it could be better. All focus should be on Rebecca in the first place, no Billy. I love your channel and I love your unusual lists, I hope you do this "best moments" of every RE games, including the OG, Remakes and Spin Offs ❤
Probably the easiest mainline-esque game in the series to remake successfully because the bar is pretty low. There isn’t as much nostalgia with the original version as with most other mainline RE entries, and coaxing a much better game out of it would really be as simple as some quality of life upgrades/removal of the unique quality of life downgrades that really are what held it back. RE0 had a much more enjoyable game than what was delivered just below the surface.
I just finished my fist playhrough of re0 yesterday. I totally agree that rebecca is the best part about the game. It gave also way more depth to her character. What I would instead rank higher is Billy. I think he is a pretty interesting character and would love to see him return in a future game maybe a revelations 3 or something like that. What I also really liked about re0 is that both characters have to work together in order to progress in the game. It makes no one feel unneeded. The backtracking of which I heared it should be really bad was actually not really an issue for me. About this new video series, I like it really much and would like to see it continue
Actually in resident evil original that severed hand they found is of Edward's and when they were doing resident evil 0 using ps1 graphics you will see Edward missing a hand
RE0 & CV will probably give you more playtime for your money. If you don’t feel like your good at RE games & you don’t like playing harder games, stay away from CV. I love it but I also love the challenge and CV doesn’t have difficulty settings like RE0 & SW DLC does. However if you prefer a challenge, RE0 on hard or CV on its own is the way to go (with my preference leaning slightly towards CV)
I mean it does make sense when comparing it to OG RE2, but not the remake. RE0 depicts Birkin as a scientist so obsessed with his work that he’ll do anything to continue his research and that about sums up his motivation in RE2 as well. The remake even shows Birkin with a similar motivation, just a little less villainous I suppose.
The way I play OG1, Rebecca's no damsel. She saves Chris from Yawn's venom and Plant 42, treats his injury, then we don't see her again until the elevator in the lab's turned on. As far as I'm concerned, there was never anything to save.
I’ll get there don’t worry. Probably will do the original RE1 next tbh. But since it seems people like this mini series I’ll eventually get to Revelations 2 and even Outbreak at some point 😅
You _technically_ do see Edward in the first game. In the original game’s intro, it’s Edward’s severed hand that Joseph finds. But Edward’s appearance in Zero is why Kevin Dooley was introduced in the RE1 Remake, because the devs realized they created a plot hole by having Edward die on the train and not out in the forest.
