When I fought Rayquaza in Pokemon Sapphire back in the day, It turned out to be shiny, and I used my Master Ball on that. That same Black Rayquaza is in my Alpha Sapphire today, after years of migration :>
+Ducky Quackington >Encounters Kyurem >Throws all my 34 ultra balls without putting it to sleep >Fails >last pokeball is premier ball, throws it >Catches From then on, I've used a premier ball on every pokemon.
i never understood it, whiscash swallows the master ball and its gone, but when munchlax swallows may's pokeball, it gets captured from the inside, WHYYYY???
Now introducing The troll ball! this ball has Kirk's face on it and it has a 0.0000000000000001x multiplier! and it cost 500 at a pokemart! buy in the next 0.1 seconds and get 25 free master balls!
Hadn't used a Master Ball in years until very recently. Even when I found a Shiny Metang in a Friend Safari in Y, I was able to get it in a Timer Ball. No, what happened was, I found a Shiny Kricketune via DexNav in Omega Ruby. It was high enough in level to know Perish Song, and it USED it! Quick Ball failed. Ultra Balls, Net Balls, they all failed. Last turn before Kricketune's Perish count would hit 0, I realized it was time- I realized the moment had finally come, the moment I've been saving Master Balls for for generations (I still have small stockpiles of Master Balls in HeartGold and Black 2!). So I now have a Shiny Kricketune in a Master Ball. No regrets whatsoever. :)
+Faridah Malik I had a shiny encounter a year ago. It was a basculin. I had my master ball, didn't realise it knew final Gambit so I used my ultra balls. It used it. FML
+CerebrumDisciple Im saving my masterball in hg for when I find a shiny Magikarp at the lake of rage, then Im going to transfer it up to X and give it an everstone.
I remember my first play through of Sapphire when going through the post game. After like 40 ultra balls, I had one dive ball left. I chucked it, and caught Rayquaza with it.. I think I was like 12 or so when I played it. It was epic haha.
Andrew Janes took me 72 ultra balls on mewtwo, 10 dusk ball on groudon, F*** 99+ ultra ball and a couple of dusk ball on Kyogre and guess WHAT, I CAUGHT RAYQUAZA USING 5 ULTRA BALLS probably cause of the sleep, then paralysis and that whole 1HP thing, I WASTED ALL MY BALLS ON FRIKEN DEOXYS OHH MAHH GAUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had to use a master ball :(
2:32 RIP Kobe :( Anyway, that scream about the Master Ball fatal flaw in the anime, I seriously have to agree. As a Gen 1 veteran, it really is messed up to see that fail. Indeed, the Master Ball is THE nuke of balls. Not even Mewtwo can smash it. I call it the Death Ball. Stinks you only get 1, unless you cheat for 99/999.
I pretty much disagree with the original Pokeball being the worst. Most of the time ultra balls don't work, so you have to switch to your lowest ranged pokeball.
I caught a Snorlax with a Net Ball in Pokemon Soul Silver. I find it hilarious because when you throw it out, it looks like Snorlax is just punching his way through the web.
The best pokeball is actually what mewtwo used in the first pokemon movie. The pokeball that could capture pokemons without fail, catch player-owned pokemon, and even other pokeballs.
I used to be an idiot when it came to pokemon, leading to me committing a horrible crime in the pokemon world, I used the master ball on a freaking durant.
My first ever shiny story goes like this, was grinding to beat the elite four and of course I don't carry any poke balls it's just grinding on victory road, 15 minutes go by and nothing special happens. Then the biggest fuck you I've probably encountered by fate, a green ursarang appears. Fuuuuuuuck! This basically was one aggravating events of that year, Not in till gen 5 I caught a shiny vulpix and I was pretty happy.
Ultra Balls feel like a waste of money to me, sometimes. Sure they help me catch Pokemon at higher levels, but not before I've wasted at least 30 Pokeballs trying to catch a single Pokemon (even with its health down). Sometimes I can't catch anything at all with the Ultra Ball. One time in Black 2, for life of me I could not catch a level 11 paralyzed Magby with an Ultra Ball, and it knocked itself out with Struggle. Recently, I caught Terrakion on the first turn with a Quick Ball, but I ran into a Metang after that. It had 1 hp left, was paralyzed, and I actually *ran out of Ultra Balls, AND it knocked itself out with Struggle!* What the heck?
It has been a very long time since I've used a Master Ball. Literally can't remember the last time. Because as a gamer, my thought is always "But what if I need it later?"
Quick ball timer ball and dusk ball are what i mainly lob at pokemon most of my legends are inside timer balls though i remember i caught yveltal with a timer ball but then i get xerneas in a mother fucking POKE BALL i rubbed it in my friends face now in oras i have almost all legendarys in the game only missing 30 legends out of the 68 not including duplicates
Yeah, and there's others introduced, too. Like the fast ball, great for roaming Pokémon. (I don't know if there are any in ☀️/ 🌙, but the description says "A Pokéball that makes it easier to catch Pokémon that are usually very quick to run away". So, either safari zone or roaming Pokémon.
Every Poke Ball missing from the HeartGold and SoulSilver (Except the Dream Ball, the Park Ball, the Sport Ball and the Safari Ball) returns in Sun and Moon. Sadly though there are only 1 of each of them, making them even rarer than the Master Ball, which you can (rarely) win in the ID Lottery.
I'm so happy that Dusk Ball was #2. It's my go-to ball for when the quick balls fail, and it's too early to use a timer ball. Nine out of the twelve legendary Pokemon that I own in my game right now, I've caught with a Dusk Ball. (Celebi was an event - came with Luxury Ball, Dialga was caught with Ultra Ball during the daytime, and Zygarde was caught with a timer ball when all else failed.) My Master Ball always goes unused, and is always left behind when I reset a game.
Kevin Dunse I have a Masterball in my X/Y game right now I don't plan on using because I've already gotten all the legendaries. I'll go ahead and do that right the fuck now. :D
I think I saw a post somewhere that statet this: because of the x255 multiplier of the masterball, there is a tiny tiny chance of failure... like literally 0.0000003% or something. Imagine you capping mewtwo, and after 20 turns of battle, u decide ultra balls aren't enough, so you throw a master ball... AND IT BREAKS FREE......
How about these? Trade Ball: any pokemon which evolutions require trading caught with this ball, evolve without trading one level after their last evolution. Green Ball: made from recycled materials and is half the price of regular poke balls with a similar rate of capture unless, if used on Steel types which gives makes it similar to a great ball. Seeker Ball: a ball that never misses but has a catch rate of regular poke balls. Immunity Ball: Causes any pokemon caught with this to be immune to all stat changes (Burns, Paralysis, Infatuation, Etc.) except sleep, similar to pokeball. Boomerang Ball: An expensive ball that can be reused over and over until it's caught a pokemon, catch rate decreases as it's used though. Bulk Ball: This large ball breaks apart into multiple several smaller ones that scatter for when your'e surrounded by too many pokemon, very useful if there is a shiny in a crowd. Subtle Ball: A ball given out as a prize at pokemon catching contests with a catch rate only a little lower than an ultra, may cause pokemon that is caught to be extra prone to Pokerus.
Not to mention that item duplication exploit glitch in gold and silver when you have a Philemon hold an item then switch it to another storage box but shutting off your game boy during the saving process which occurs automatically when you select a box opposite of your currently used box I found one master ball and my capturing was a cake walk after that...... good times
Imagine saving your master ball for your favorite Pokemon in the whole world that is really hard to catch, and that being the one time it actually fails....
Wait, we all know that Arceus is the "god" and creator of the pokemon universe. And a "god" can do ANYTHING. If a god can do anything, can Arceus escape a master ball??
Captain Kirk: "What does a God need with a Pokemon Trainer." Arceus: control Kirk: What? Arceus: ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL *red attacks Kirk. Universe collapses as Red is technically a Redshirt but as a Pokemon trainer he is naturally possessing some competence*
new pokeball ideas: 3 new ones: magma ball ocean ball jungle ball every ball has a multiplier depending on the pokemon you try to catch, for example, the magma ball hass a 4x multiplier on pokemon with a 4x weakness against fire, a 2x multiplier for pokemon with a 2x weakness for fire, 1x muliplier for pokemon who are normaly damaged by fire, and so on, it wouldn't work well on a pokemon who has a high recistance for fire, the same with ocean ball for water and jungle for grass
my ideas would be: shiny ball (4x multiplier rate is used on shiny, $1,200. 0.5x multiplier if used on non shiny. shiny hunters would love me) sun ball (similar to moon ball, but works on pokemon that evolve by sun stone) last but not least... NEVERFAILBALL (only works on a level 2 BIDOOF with 0 IVs in every stat exept for speed, which is 4, must set must have JUDGMENT, PHOTON GEYSER, SPIRIT SHACKLE, AND THE LEGENDARY SPLASH... must have used judgement and spirit shacle 11 times, photon geyser 6 times, and LEGENDARY SPLASH 99999999999 times. fails if this criteria is not met. but no pressure.)
always been a fan of the simple pokeball. shows so much more skill (or raw determination) when u catch all the legendarys (including roaming ones) in pokeballs :D
I agree with this a whole 100%, been able to catch everything (excluding that which is event and given in cherish balls or whatever's designated by the specefic event) in a regular pokeball excluding Kyogre, Groudon, and Thundurus...
If I had a quarter for every Ultra Ball I've used, I'd probably be a multi-millionaire. Ultra is pretty much my go-to ball when catching Pokémon; I caught Mewtwo in Y with an Ultra Ball, same with the Legendary Beasts and Birds in SoulSilver and HeartGold. Heck, I've caught almost every non-mascot legendary in an Ultra Ball except for Heatran and Regigigas in Diamond and Pearl (Dusk Balls ftw).
***** If you can find it try it out. You'll need a Wii or Gamecube, but if you have a Gameboy Advance as well you can transfer the Lugia into the main series games once you've purified it; this is the only way to get a Lugia that knows Psycho Boost.
I never really paid any attention to that; I just tended to use the Master Ball to catch Legends (in fact, that's what I did for Xerneas). But I wanted to save it for Mewtwo, so I was kinda caught between a rock and a hard place, until the Quick Ball stuck.
Emerald Dragon Its literally one of the highest catch rate legendaries. Far too many have been caught in pokeballs, because of how easy it is to catch.
Somewhere on the internet I saw a snippet from a gen 1 guidebook where it recommends that the player uses the Master Ball on "a Pokemon that's hard to catch but you want to add to your team, like Fearow or Tentacruel" o_0
I make it my goal to never use my Master Ball. It's just too cheap for my liking. I play games for a good challenge, and when it comes to the only real test you have in catching Pokemon, throwing out a Master Ball just seems like a disgrace to all the work the company put on making the battle challenging. It's kinda like how in Super Mario Galaxy 2, after enough deaths, you can have the Cosmic Guide instantly beat the stage for you. Nintendo is just giving you another cheap way out. You get a lot more pride for catching the legendary with your own power, not a cheat sheet.
Masterballs are there to catch the greatest legendary or mythical. Most people would use it to catch a shiny Legendary or shiny mythical because it's a once in a life time chance before you have to Soft Reset for 5 days again. So if you are gonna try to catch Pokemon without Masterball, good luck....especially with some of the Mythicals like Deoxys...
I caught Giratina with a Dusk Ball in Diamond. Do any of you know how cool it looks when it enters battle? The darkness is absolutely perfect for Giratina.
I know this was posted well before the introduction of the beast ball, but it's another really good ball. I love the design on it. Yeah, it can only catch a limited range of Pokemon, or Ultra Beasts if those count as Pokemon, but its still pretty cool.
TheNekoMimiGamer The, X and Y, I have those, I'm having problems catching Mewtwo, always getting out of Duskballs and Ultraballs. Also, since Gen 4, at the Pokemon Lottery, you can win a Masterball!
I got blue balls, sadly enough, I haven't been able to capture anything with 'm yet. I heard someone captured a legendary shiny STD with a blue ball once though. Sure gives new meaning to the catchphrase "Gotta catch 'm all."
Fills every pokemon entry that's in the pokedex in, maxes out item inventory, evolves all pokemon caught before and current caught pokemon to max level, available at start of game, can be bought for free, available in all versions, and gives you all key items, badges, tm, and hm on first purchase.
what about the Cheri ball? (i think thats what you call it) its by far the rarest, the only way to get it is to get a pokemon from mystery gift with the ball
Plus, it only has the catch rate of a regular Pokeball if used in battle. Giving it the same status as a premier ball, but you would have to go to an event or cheat just to get it.
I have no problem believing you, because I caught Mewtwo with a Pokeball in Yellow after failing to catch him with my entire supply of Ultra Balls and Great Balls
I had a friend who was 5 years younger than me, it was his first time getting to victory road. he used the masterball on a ditto cause he thought it was a legendary
As if the master ball wasnt going to be number 1 haha! My favourite legendary capture was when i was trying to catch groudon in ruby version and used every ball i had and caught it with my very last pokeball, talk about lucky :)
That moment when you accidentally use your master ball on a pathetic pokémon like magikarp and you have to turn off the game and turn it back on and you realize you haven't saved your game AT ALL!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brain Jones Dude, chill out. Even the games state that Magikarp sucks. Here are the Pokedex entries for Magikarp in all of the current games: Pokemon Red/Blue/Leaf Green/Y - "In the distant past, it was somewhat stronger than the horribly weak descendants that exist today." Pokemon Yellow - "Famous for being very unreliable. It can be found swimming in seas, lakes, rivers and shallow puddles. Pokemon Gold/Heart Gold - "An underpowered, pathetic Pokémon. It may jump high on rare occasions, but never more than seven feet." Pokemon Silver/Soul Silver - "For no reason, it jumps and splashes about, making it easy for predators like Pidgeotto to catch it in mid-jump." Pokemon Crystal - "This weak and pathetic Pokémon gets easily pushed along rivers when there are strong currents." Pokemon Ruby/Omega Ruby - "MAGIKARP is a pathetic excuse for a POKéMON that is only capable of flopping and splashing. This behavior prompted scientists to undertake research into it." Pokemon Sapphire/Alpha Sapphire - "MAGIKARP is virtually useless in battle as it can only splash around. As a result, it is considered to be weak. However, it is actually a very hardy POKéMON that can survive in any body of water no matter how polluted it is." Pokemon Emerald - "Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. In places where water pools, you can see many MAGIKARP deposited there by the flow." Pokemon Fire Red/X - "It is virtually worthless in terms of both power and speed. It is the most weak and pathetic POKéMON in the world." Pokemon Diamond - "It is said to be the world's weakest Pokémon. No one knows why it has managed to survive." Pokemon Pearl - "It is unable to swim against even slow-moving currents. It always splashes about for some reason." Pokemon Platinum/Black/White/Black 2/White 2 - "A MAGIKARP living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash. The move remains useless, though." That's why everyone calls Magikarp useless, because it is. The only use it has is just getting a Gyarados, which is infinitely better in comparison.
