The Ram II is undoubtable my favorite vehicle in War Thunder, and my 2nd favorite tank of all time (I love my Matilda II). Theres another bonus to it too, that they are so rare on the battlefield that most people dont know where to shoot. Usually they'll either pop your auxillery MG port, killing JUST the Machine Gunner, or they'll hit the turret, which is so high and seperate that they rarely kill all 5 crew, just 3. Pretty bad to lose your whole turret, but name a tank that 1) isnt a KV 2 and 2) doesnt cheat with volumetric where that doesnt happen anyway

You guys should really do a video on how your key binds are set up because I'm having issues with mine and its hard to make sure there aren't key binds over lapping each other. But really enjoy your guys content and help me figure out where to find the soft spots on tanks. Keep up the good work.😁

I'll also throw in two low-tier premiums from Italy, ones I've had a ton of fun with. The Pz.IV G and M4 Hybrid. Both at 3.7, and both in an already fantastic lineup. Low-tier Italy is so much fun, and bolstering one of the best lineups in the game at one of the most enjoyable BR ranges in the game is absolutely worth it when they're both half off. Helps grind Hungary too, and they're both Rank III now, so you can use them to grind up to Rank IV, and for events/tasks/challenges.

i love the F5C used it to grind to the F16, gave her a nickname of the Kremlins Gremlin

Great vid. Grabbed the VIDAR day 1 and I do not regret it. Personally I find it better at 8.0 because I can pair it with the U-SH and the premium wedge.

Awesome video as always gents, I appreciates your efforts and opinions ^^ The T-55 AM-1 almost feels like a gate keeper, it makes it harder for you to get from 7.7 to 8.7 in your tech tree when not playing USSR (that and hull down IT-1).

Love the fact one of the selling points of the Wyvern is that it makes fun noises.

I'm glad to see that I've got good taste in premiums. I own the M4A1, the Rooikat 105, the French starter pack, the Ram II, T-55AM1, Wyvern, the F-5C and the Vidar

I dunno about the B1 ter. I got it over two years ago from the warbond shop and it was a beast then. Got to rank III in just a week. After the BR increase I now face uptiers with panzer 4s too many times that can cleave through the frontal armor with no trouble at all

I got the M4A1 FL10 at 50% discount during the last late October early November and I didn't regret it! It has an insane reload speed of 5 sec thanks to the autoloader with a gun that has a penetration level close to a Panther without the explosive filler. It's quite tall, but it allows to fire over obstacles like many rocks in Sinai by example. That thing is wonderful! The only problems are that the armor is unreliable at 5.0 and the mobility of the Sherman chassis is barely adequate with a very bouncy suspension. But if you master it, you can absolutely dominate the enemy side. Like Bo said, it pairs very well with the M4A4 SA50 which does have the better shell, a better gun depression and slightly better armor. They work really well together. I used both in a 5.3 line up despite the fact that they are 5.0, but it went super well and I felt that I could take uptiers to 6.3 without any trouble. They have the pen for it and they are very killy together. The M4A1 FL10 was one of the best premiums I've ever bought and I don't regret it for one bit.

Definitely going to be thinking about grabbing one or two of the vehicles from this list.

If you have experience at 11.3 or above I’d honestly recommend the F4 for Britain, such a great base bomber to grind SL and RP with and a great variety of missiles, especially the skyflashes as they work very well in head on’s (well atleast in my experience)

One thing that id personally add if it is available is to pickup the milan cause i used it to grind the entirety or the french air tree in like 6 weeks on and off playing

as a britain main, the rooikat 105 and khalid make a great lineup. the khalid is a bit underrated in my opinion as the turret is incredibly well armored AND is very geometrically complex so its got volumetric invulnerability. practically unkillable in hull down positions and i've broken 90% of stale mates ive been in by baiting players who don't know how to kill it.

would have liked to see naval recomendations. also kv1e should be on the list regardless that its only on sale 1 day in the year. its just stupid fun.

I am a huge lover of the Strv 103-0 but since it goes up at 8.0 i feel like it's time has come to the end. Don't get me wrong, that wedge stomps hard on heavy tanks and such and it's still capable of send some degrees of punishment down range, but the current compression through 8.0-9.0 really hits such situational tank; i reused it to just start the Swedish BMP-1 grind and...i don't know, i used it a lot (3k kills) and today it really let me down even playing on maps suited enough for the Wedge. So, i really suggest to anyone to think really well on it before trying to grab it with the sales, the Vidar so far is a better choice but the HE/overpressure mechanics isn't that "noob friendly", for some targets it's needed to know where to place the shot. But there are also the Leopard 1A5NO (which is the same as the Leopard 1A5 used by Germany and Italy, minus the LWS for the latest) or the CV90105, that nimble 105mm machine gun can decimate many targets in just minutes (and the 2nd/3rd gen thermals for both gunner/commander, LWS and autoloader for a constant rain of DM33 are the real strong selling points of it). Choose wisely based also on your playstyle, don't fall for be restrict to a situational vehicle🤓

In my opinion the T29 is an amazing premium if you're good with it. Would be better if it was 6.7 instead of 7.0

"Top 10 (not counting ties) Premiums of 2023" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, yeah. Haven't played the game in nearly 3 years, but it's interesting to see what's the best options these days. Also, the banter makes it in, even in a buying guide. :D

Ngl the fl10 is probably my fave tank to play in the game for not grinding but just for fun

I find in many cases talisman offer better value and fun, if buy on sales I could buy one talisman each from rank 2 to 7 to grind out the whole tree and still cost less than a top tier premium And it have the benefit of getting to play multiple vehicles all the way to the top, not buy one top tier and only get to play that for hundreds of matches after

As a player whose most played vehicle is the type 16(like 2000 kills), I can tell you that in the current meta it has heavily degraded in how good it is. Back during the summer before the massive BR changes, it was 8.7 which meant it constantly faced downtiers (think T55AM-1's), back then it was really really really good, but now it both struggles to pen pen anything (M735), has very very poor post pen, and is constantly seeing 10.0 (ex: T72 Turms-T). edit: in top tier japan youre constantly paired with the US and thus will also have some of the poorest winrates

39:26 Fun fact: "At the speed of Jesus" is more fitting then you might think Vidar was one of the pagan norse gods and his name, as most of those deity names were, is not only a name but has a meaning to it and it means "Wide Ruler" or "The one that rules from distance" and he was the deity of vengeance. Soooo: 1. Props for the manufacturer for choosing such a fitting name for this vehicle 2. Props for Gaijin putting it up for Sweden/Norway

The vidar I can see going to 9.0 easily think there was a time we had a battery going using a vidar to sight in the other derp guns and thermals to spot. Sweden is really getting punchy, I've seen more people playing them since Finland came in.

8:00 Premiums can research any tier, even if said premium is tier I or VIII.

I sadly despise the Swedish Tech Tree. It caused me too much pain when i was grinding France and Japan T1, and it still is the nation that gives me the most issues. I hate with a passion dying to the swedish tanks and planes. But i have to agree “mostly” with the list. Where is the Tiger II H sla 16 though? That armor and firepower with increased mobility is monstrous. Its the team that lets you down not the tank.

I got the f4 S thinking it would be a fun plane to grind with but that jet really suffers at top tier when basically every other jet can out maneuver you. It’s good at grinding but not a fun plane to fly.

Now if Gaijin/War Thunder would add the M4A5 Ram I and M4A5 Ram II Late to the British tree would be nice.

The ztz-96a (p) and a5c are really good for China however I’d wait for a sale as they are expensive

Would be great if you could also include factors such as "Squadron Battle Meta-ness" to help with people looking at getting into squadron battles. A lot of squadrons would be more than willing to help out with expanding on your list and give some talking points.

The type 74g is so trolly though I love it hull down

Honest advice, do not bomb in the F5C in air rb, you will be a free kill. The engines are simply too weak for it, great energy retention but very bad slow speed performance, and bad acceleration . Great plane for SL and grinding tho

I got so fed up with French tier one I owe hated $200 aus worth of golden Eagles just to bypass the tech tree. It made me nearly give up on it like I had the Italian tree but I really wanted a second rate nation to play so I could escape the major nations a little

You guys should consider adding a disclaimer to the VIDAR recommendation. All positives you mentioned are spot on, but it's lack of turret stabilization on that chonky turret means it has some of the worst gun handling in the game (in my opinion). This isn't a big deal for those with good map knowledge since you'll already be aiming in the general direction of your victims, but any new player that has to adjust their turret before using the laser range finder will be shot and either disabled or killed before they ever pop a shot off, making the VIDAR very situational. I'm enjoying it very much but even with over 1100 hours in war thunder, there are some maps where I'd rather take out anything else on my lineup before the VIDAR. This is why I wouldn't recommend it to new players who are looking to buy it as sole 8.0 (but 8.7+ realistically) BR tech tree grinder.

I’m so sad that I stopped playing war thunder earlier this year. And I was a Swedish main. 😢 I quit right before they made Swedish crazy strong.

The T-55 at 8.7 is so reliable. It's actually a more consistent grinder than the T-72 because of how favorable the MM is. You avoid a good chunk of the premium flood at 10.0.. If you're uptiered, it's still competitive but if you're downtiered, it's a beast.

You pair the t55-am1 with the object 435 and you are golden
