If you really look at it, Serena is generally nicer than everyone else. Yes, she floats through life but that’s because she’s naturally charismatic and the spotlight loves her. Even if she hides from it, it will find her one way or another. Blair on the other hand is someone who’s pretty insecure and would tear down even her friends when she doesn’t like what they’re doing. Heck, she even did her teacher wrong for giving her a C.

Exactly! Serena is original Queen who minded her own business most of the time. Blair had some serious insecurity issues she needed to work on. I feel sorry for the people who think Serena takes away everything from Blair. Blair ruins her own opportunities and people hold Serena accountable for Blair’s immature actions.

@@tanyamhatre21exactly!!! People act like Serena stole Yale from Blair but she’s the one who flunked her interview. If she had just walked in and gave it her best shot she would have made it but she told the interviewer to just read her folder and that there was nothing more interesting about her. It was so dumb. She gave up her opportunities with her defeatist attitude and always expected Serena to downplay herself to not make her feel bad. That’s not a good friend. I like Blair for other reasons but I am so sick of the Serena slander. I feel like people were just genuinely jealous of her or something cause they can’t possibly think she really is that bad.

And Serena haters just don’t like that there truly are people who are just naturally well liked, this happens and as long as that person isn’t mean about it they’re perfectly valid in enjoying who they are.

My Favorite Character On gossip girl was Serena because even though she been through a lot she always went through her day smiling. She owned up to her mistakes and walked it off like the Queen she truly is . People are mad at her for sleeping with Blair’s boyfriend but are not mad at Blair for bullying people in her high school days, acting like a spoiled brat 24/7 , using her bestfriend darkest secret against her so she could back out on going to yell

Yuki James um if my bestfriend dated my first love I would definitely drop her.. it doesn’t matter if dan isn’t Serena’s you never saw chuck and Serena together right ?? Also Serena was in high school when the Nate thing happened.. she obviously grew as a person and she had her reasons for the dan thing Blair had started the whole war between them anyways and Blair wasn’t even into dan like that, she was basically still drooling over chuck. Blair was always just so jealous of Serena when all Serena wanted to do was be there for her and be supportive until she finally had enough and started treating Blair the same way she had been treating her all these years

I know a lot of people don't like Serena but I love her overall! An icon. She had some super annoying moments but so did literally everyone on that show lolll. I think some memorable moments should have been her having an affair with Tripp, the flashback of her "killing" Pete, and her and blair's impromptu photo shoot in Eleanor's stolen clothes!

@Giselle i kind of have to disagre with u because nate was still the same person who loved serena and still went on from person to peeson, (just like serena).Blair was still the arragont bratty spoiled girl who would ruin things if it didnt go her way like she did when chuck was finally happy with the girl he met in france.Dan let money and fame take over him after he wrote his book and was literally gossip girl for like 6 years.Chuck needs no explanation

I totally agree. Serena was very naive and trusted every guy she was with which is a lot of men btw. She also has a past that used to mess up every relationship that she had and used to meddle with situations that she had no information on. She also sleeps with every guy she meets or at least catches feelings and gets upset when people call her a whore or slut. She literally dated the whole gang of friends except Chuck who was her brother. She’s kind of sickening and makes me even more upset to see Dan or Nate leave such a wholesome girl like Vanessa who makes normal mistakes and is smart and funny and a R.O.D no matter what for someone like Serena when all a guy has to do is quit a low paying job for her just to get a higher paying one and she’s gone of dating them. Then she messes and hurts her family for guys who are using her. And she feels like all she has to do is say sorry and they’re back to normal. I honestly seriously dislike Serena. She treats her mother like shit when almost all of the things Lilian did were for her kids. Serena meddles with everyone’s life and when she messes something up it’s the same two apologies “I’m sorry , I just” or “I just”. Then she gets mad because she meddled in someone’s life, messed something up, and is upset about it.

if I remember correctly, there was some audience testing done in between Seasons 1 and 2, to see whose characters were most popular. I do believe that the show's creators/writers wanted Serena to helm the show, but as Chuck and Blair ended up being the far more popular couple, quite quickly, it's no surprise Serena's development took a back seat to Chuck, Blair, and Dan.

Melissa Perez actually i saw the serie knowing he is GG, and he never sent anything to gossip girl and posted things only Dan knew. He was always gg, but it could have been Dorota as well. She was my favourite character with Blair, Chuck and Eric, so I'm happy she wasn't the one who made everyone's life miserable

nata alfa I also watched the series with knowing that Dan is Gossip Girl and actually it was quiet obvious. Just think about the very first Episode, when Chuck harassed Jenny, there wasn‘t a single comment from GG and also when it came to other obvious incidents about Serena or Jenny and other people Dan actually like a lot, GG never posted about it. Well, even though some posts have been waaay „to much“ and dumb, like the episode where Serena buys the pregnancy tests I mean - how could he post that?? 😅

Dan being gossip girl actually makes sense overall because he wanted to be apart of the upper side so bad, he’s a writer and was obsessed with Serena (and it all started with her), but there are too many plot holes (like him reacting to gossip girl’s blasts when he was alone, the times where he wasn’t even on his phone when gossip girl posted, the conversation he had with gossip girl when she blackmailed him and many other things) so it’s quite oblivious the writers pull that out last minute but that doesn’t make him a good person in general. Remember the way he talked about everyone in his book? And he claimed those were his friends and family

Serena was able to make everyone follow her rules, she got what she wanted. That didn't work for Blair. Blair's followers ditched her as soon as Serena wanted them to do something else. And still, Serena treated everyone friendly (except those who pissed her off)

Serena is so over hated I hon think she needed a better ending than ending up with dan, she always complained about finding herself and who she wanted to be so she should of gotten a stable job and ended up with Nate bc he accepted her for who she was the bad and good and she needed Someone like that (since she always tried to act like the better vision of herself and hide her past which bye dan made her do)

"Charming her way to Yale" is not "charming" its annoying. Blair deserved it way more and she didnt even want it. She only accepted for the wrong reasons. The show was still about Serena in my opinion, because Blair didnt get most of the things she wanted in the beginning (surely she got some things but she still had to stooped low for that first) meanwhile Serena got everything she wanted still.
