During the “summer break” I’ve been watching older live videos that I may have missed the first time around. Love hearing about spice perfumes-many of which I’ll need to seek out for autumn!
Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee is an Addictive Magical fragrance. HUGE THANK YOU FOR TURNING ME ON TO NV fragrances! Trayee and Mohur Extrait are now my top two favorite fragrances. (Also enjoy Bombay Bling) 💖💖💖
This is a category with stiff competition for me: Francesca Bianchi Under my Skin, Caron Parfum Sacre, several Serge Lutens and Neela Vemeer, Amouage Jubilation 25, original Opium, Cinnabar, etc. And you have sent me down a rabbit hole searching spice cookies on pinterest after the cardamom rose water cookie reference 🤣
Sire P I love when you compare the fragrance to a person at le dinner table because you’re so spot in with the aesop one. Perfect vid papa P thank you!!
I remember a liquid-center gum called Freshen Up. ( “The gum that goes Squirt!”) They made a cinnamon flavor which had that sweet/hot quality. Loved the video - more fragrances for my “must try” list, as always. Happy Holidays!
Sujata here, Mr. P. So you too talk about the reformulation of Noir Epices here! I missed that in the first viewing! Aaaargh - all these reformulations just make buying perfumes so much less fun as one is paranoid about getting robbed of the authentic scent! Anyway - I just ordered a sample which I assume will be the newest formulation. Since this'll be my first time getting my nose on Noir Epices maybe I won't be as biased as all you experts and I'll actually like it. 😊 Hope springs eternal, Mr.P!
Neela Vermeire! ❤️ She is so lovely & wonderful! Her fragrances are such art! The intellectual and olfactive stimulation of her creations are so unique & beautiful!
I love very spicy fragrances particularly in December. I can't wait to try White. On my personal list I'd add Epic Man and Bapteme du Feu, the latter would fit in this weird spicy gourmand genre.
This was such an education! I have an old bottle of Opium that I cherish. If you like saffron have you tried Costume Nationale 's 21? I must investigate Trayee.
Hi Persolaise, Too busy to join the group for the live broadcast. I have still watched as attentively as a true geeky fan should... Notes have been taken & the dream list lengthens.
Really enjoyed this one and only sad that I couldn’t play live as I was working . I loved your choices and most happy to see Cinnabar as much prefer to Opium and probably the first spicy fragrance I owned . I adore Cardamom in anything and eat pods raw too . Tom of Finland is a fairly new favourite of mine and believe it or not ‘ I have yet to try Fem de Bois or the Malle but hope to remedy this soon . So lucky to have been both to the theatre and a concert this last week as maybe we will soon to back limited to having your wonderful channel as entertainment. Finally today I am visiting someone who is allergic to perfume and I can’t wear any and I feel naked and sad that someone could be unable to have this wonderful pleasure. Thank you as always for the joy you bring x 😃
Yes the original cinnabar was wonderful and I'm loving xerjoff casamorati dolce amalfi beautiful amount of spice & my other favourite is Tango by masque milano Big red is a wonderful cinnamon chewing gum
Have been wearing Youth Dew for the lovely clove note, along with the spicy boozy Idole de Lubin, for this holiday season. I’ve also made several batches of gluhvein with plenty of clove, cinnamon & orange. 🎄🍷🍊
Interesting topic, so many factors influence what people interpret as spicy. I can't tell you how many times someone has commented on a scent I had on with "ohhh its soo spicy" and I had to stop and think 🤔 spicy, really? Because I definitely didn't put anything on that is spicy(or what I perceive as spicy)
I just checked Amazon and found a sugar free cardamon syrup from a company named Jordans (they have a chai one as well)... thanks for info...Also there was a strong cinnamon gum from Wrigleys introduced in 1975 called BIG RED. My fav spice scent is New York Intense by Nicolai with cloves cinnamon and black pepper...enjoy your holidays
So lucky to have vintage Spellbound, youth dew, Cinnabar and opium in terms of spicies ❣️❣️❣️ i love them sooooo much 🥰🥰🥰 i cant find the rich and warm vibes from the new perfumes 😔 do you know a perfume that smells like Cinnabar?
Funny enough, Spice Girls actually did have a fragrance launch! They partnered with the company Impulse for a body spray, which was released in an aerosol canister, though I somehow own a coveted frosted glass bottle eau de toilette (or "parfum deodorant" as they call it) from childhood. Alas, Opium has got to be my be-all-end-all spicy frag.
I am also very keen to know more! It’s been on my to-but list since smelling it for the first time in 2015 and I’ve dragged my heels on going “full bottle”. Am I too late? Has it passed into clove-tinted memory??
Opium, don’t judge me ha but old spice meme cologne. Philosophy use to make gingerbread man scrub ohh I miss. Cinnabar and youth dew …..pls tell me there are “newer” brands ? Spice bomb felt like a headache I didn’t like it and was so surprised when I didn’t!? The only newer one was jo Malone cardamom mimosa but not strong enough? I still wear poison to me spicy , original coco NOT mademoiselle ick
good afternoon, Persolaise et al. - regarding cardamom: please consider "Fidelis" by Histoires de Parfum - a strikingly cardamom-forward fragrance with coffee, rose, oud, and all sorts of other loveliness. certainly not a wilting violet.
I love these top 10 lists, so if there are any naysayers, please ignore them!!!! Feminite du Bois has always reminded me of YSL's Nu, which lives only on eBay these days. The only issue I have w/ FDB is that it virtually only lasts 1 hour on me so I go through the bottles very quickly, otherwise so lovely! How about the top 10 of the last decade? You may have already done that; I have a vague memory of it; oh boy need to check now!
My most spicy and intrinsically "autumn holiday" fragrance is Fair Parfums' Royale. Other than that, I have some of Boucheron's Jaipur Homme Fraicheur Epicee, which I enjoy.
@@Persolaise You're welcome! By the way, I've just received an email from them today, saying they now have a place in Touchwood Shopping Centre (Solihull, UK).
Sultan Pasha makes an oil that smells EXACTLY like Japanese incense. It’s name is Nankun Kodo and was created to replicate a very popular incense by the Japanese company Shoyeido. I burn it frequently. 😊♥️
@@Persolaise and you won’t have to wait 6 weeks to get it as I do here in Colorado. His L’Heure D’Or is my favorite. It smells like an intense Alberto Vo5 hair cream (old stuff in the tube), and is verrrry animalic - in a good way. 😊
@@Persolaise That’s dismaying. I’ll have to save what remains for sniffing. I’ll ask him what’s up. The bottles are tiny but I apply the attars with a toothpick as they are potent.
When I look up cinnabar today not many spices listed on fragrantica same with opium depending On which opium you look up ? Very weird. Like why would they make opium now with so few spices!? It makes NO sense !! The last time I had a bottle of opium was 2011 ( it was a CVS 2009 bottle ) and a kid playing in my bathroom shattered the bottle on my floor 😢I died. So as I don’t like the new sadly I buy a cheap dupe and oddly enough it does take me back phew but I’d like for YSL to take my ass back
“29:47” Meant to be Nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon Again. Meant to be The Marrakesh spice souk Maybe. If only we Could do that again one day Soon. --Persolaise, a.k.a. The Poetic Wanderer _✍(・_・。)
